Coach Sam Simpson's Henry Clay Blue Devils have displayed a balanced offense this year.  QB Salin Simpson has passed for 2527 yards and 29 TDs this season.  Simpson has also been a threat on the ground with 610 yards and seven touchdowns.  Clark Jeter has caught 44 passes for 995 yards and 11 touchdowns.  RB Rod Johnson has run for 1898 yards with 31 touchdowns. 

Coach Bob Beatty's Trinity Shamrocks have been led this year by QB Nick Petrino who has passed for 2804 yards and 28 touchdowns.  RB Donald Barnett gained 931 yards on the ground this year. 

Trinity raced out to a 21-0 lead in the second quarter and recovered three Henry Clay fumbles in the second half to defeat the Blue Devils 41-20.  This victory gives Trinity the opportunity to play for their 16th championship.

Trinity held a 530-366 yard advantage in total offense, led 28-21 in first downs, and enjoyed a 30:16-17:44 advantage in clock possession.  Trinity lost one fumble and was penalized eight times for 89 yards.  Henry Clay had a pass intercepted, lost three fumbles, and was penalized seven times for 46 yards. 

Blayne Donnell led the Trinity ground game with 190 yards and two touchdowns on 27 carries.  Nick Petrino added 87 yards and a score on 11 carries.  Petrino completed 17 of 25 passes for 208 yards and two touchdowns.  Craig Kircher caught five passes for 55 yards and two touchdowns.  Kyle Flynn added four receptions for 48 yards and Eric Senn had three receptions for 55 yards.  Agyei Williams led the defense with three solo and six assisted tackles while Wesley Weitlauf recorded three solo and four assisted tackles.

Rod Johnson led the Henry Clay ground game with 117 yards on 15 carries.  Salin Simpson added 51 yards on 10 carries.  Simpson completed 13 of 21 passes for 184 yards with three touchdowns and one interception.  Chase Minnifield caught four passes for 81 yards and two touchdowns.  Sam Gardner caught three passes for 38 yards and a TD and Clark Jeter added three receptions for 29 yards.  Stephon Burton led the Blue Devil defense with six solo and five assisted tackles.  Marcus Bentley added six solo and five assisted tackles while Jacob Barney recorded five solo and two assisted tackles.
