Henry Clay (5-0) vs. Bryan Station (0-4) September 23, 2005
Henry Clay trailed 12-7 after the first quarter but scored 45 points over the next two quarters to settle the issue. The opportunistic Henry Clay defense recovered four fumbles and intercepted four passes, two of which they returned for touchdowns.
The victorious Blue Devils held a 495-366 advantage in total offense. Henry Clay lost one fumble for the night and was penalized 11 times for 70 yards. Bryan Station suffered through the aforementioned eight turnovers and was penalized 16 times for 125 yards.
Rod Johnson led the Henry Clay ground attack with 211 yards and four touchdowns on 24 carries. Donte Gay added 104 yards and a score on nine rushing attempts. Salin Simpson completed 11 of 15 passes for 173 yards with one touchdown pass. Simpson did not have a pass intercepted but was sacked four times. Clark Jeter caught three passes for 106 yards. Marcus Bentley led the Blue Devil defense with four solo and three assisted tackles. Chase Minnifield recorded three solo and one assisted tackles and intercepted two passes.
Lance Morton led Bryan Station's ground game with 91 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries. Chucky Moss carried the ball six times for 69 yards and a score. Lance Morton also completed 10 of 18 passes for 161 yards and two touchdowns but was intercepted four times. Jay Brashear caught four passes for 106 yards and a touchdown. Gerald Edwards led the Defender defense with 11 solo and six assisted tackles including two QB sacks for losses totalling 18 yards.
