Grant County (4-6) vs. Lexington Catholic (9-1) November 4, 2005

Lexington Catholic figures to be heavily favored tonight to defeat Grant County and advance in the playoffs.  QB Justin Burke has completed 161 of 255 passes for 2654 yards and 47 touchdowns.  Cornell Burbage has 52 receptions for 878 yards and 12 touchdowns while Wes Caldwell has 46 receptions for 840 yards with 18 touchdowns. 

Lexington Catholic led 44-0 at halftime and cruised to a 51-6 victory over Grant County.  The Knights scored on eight of eight of their "red zone" opportunities and on eight of their 11 possissions for the night.  Lexington Catholic held Grant County to a total of 21 yards on 26 offensive plays in the first half.

Lexington Catholic held a 301-99 advantage in total yardage and enjoyed a 17-4 margin in first downs.  The Knights didn't have a turnover tonight and was penalized seven times for 45 yards.  Grant County lost two fumbles, had a pass intercepted, and was penalized four times for 26 yards.

Shane Israel led the Lexington Catholic ground game with 68 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries while Miles Nallia added 43 yards on two carries.  Cornell Burbage had three receptions for 51 yards with a touchdown.  Davis Page led the Knights defense with four solo and one assisted tackles.

Will Scalf led Grant County's ground game with 67 yards on three carries.  Cory Haar added 46 yards on 14 carries.  Cory Haar paced the defense with five solo tackles including two tackles for losses totalling seven yards.  Nathan Garretson recorded four solo and two assisted tackles.
