Class A Playoffs

Danville 28    Louisville Holy Cross 23  
Kelvin Turner carried the ball 25 times for 233 yards including TD runs of 78, 1, and 30 yards to lead Danville to victory.  Turner's last TD gave him the state record of 113 TDs, breaking the previous record of 112 set by Derek Homer of Ft. Knox. 
 
Beechwood  14    Newport Central Catholicy 9   
Newport Central Catholic led 3-0 going into the final quarter but Beechwood scored two TDs in the final period to earn the victory. 
 
Pikeville 29    Williamsburg 22  (OT)
Robert Shurtleff scored four TDs including the winning TD on a one yard run in overtime to gain the victory and hand Williamsburg their first loss of the season. 
 
Mayfield 47    Hancock County 21

Class 2A Playoffs

Belfry 28    Prestonsburg  12   
Belfry trailed 12-7 at the end of three quarters but scored three TDs in the final quarter to gain the victory.  Doug Howard and David Jones each scored two TDs for the victors. 
 
Corbin 38    Elizabethtown 20  
Corbin RB Brad Lawson rolled up 190 yards on the ground including TD runs of 1, 6 and 52 yards to lead the Redhounds to victory. 
 
Russell 48    Fleming County14   
Russell rolled up 408 yards on the ground including 289 yards by Josh Gross as they rolled to a 48-0 lead after three quarters.  Gross scored on TD runs of 44, 65, 1, 50, and 56 yards. 
 
Owensboro Catholic 28    Glasgow 14  
Owensboro Catholic QB Zach Barnard completed 19 of 30 passes for 346 yards including TD passes of 44, 38, 24, and 10 yards to lead the Aces to victory.

Class 3A Playoffs

Boyle County 54    Central 43
Boyle County led 40-8 at the half but had to survive a 35 point explosion by Central in the second half to claim the victory.  Boyle County QB Brandon Smith had another big evening as he completed 12 of 27 passes for 170 yards including TD passes of 14 and one yards.  Smith also carried the ball for 152 yards and three TDs on 17 rushing attempts.  Central QB Xavier Braxton completed 18 of 50 passes for 515 yards and five TDs while being intercepted four times. 
 
Bell County 13    Ashland Blazer 3
Bell County was led tonight by Shawn Robbins with 180 yards and a 10 yard TD run. 
 
Hopkinsville 16    Madisonville  13
Hopkinsville improves their record to 13-0 with a victory over Madisonville in a defensive struggle. 
 
Highlands 18    Covington Catholic 0
Michael Mitchell scored on TD runs of 71 and 72 yards to lead the Bluebirds to victory.

Class 4A Playoffs

St. Xavier 28    North Hardin  15
North Hardin led 8-7 at the half but St. Xavier roared back in the second half to claim the victory. 
 
Boone County 10    Dixie Heights  7
Boone County QB Quron Meeks hit Chris McCarty with an 11 yard TD pass in the final quarter as the Rebels squeaked by Dixie Heights. 
 
Henderson County 41    Warren Central 21
QB Will Fidler threw TD passes of 32, 12, 9, and 13 yards to lead Henderson County to victory. 
 
Scott County 45    Madison Central 41   
Scott County led 45-27 after three quarters and survived a Madison Central comeback in the final period to earn the victory.  The victors were led by Ted Sberna who carried the ball 23 times for 227 yards including TD runs of 5, 55, and 2 yards.  Bruising FB Percy Hargrove added 121 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries.  Madison Central QB Ryan Barnes passed for 223 yards and two scores and ran for 121 yards including a 49 yard TD run.  Paul Warford added 120 yards on the ground including a 78 yard TD run.
