Scott County (3-1) vs. Henry Clay (1-3) September 19, 2003

on defense.  Henry Clay linebacker Josh Wright, with help from a couple of teammates, stopped Scott County's Ted Sberna short on a two point conversion attempt in the second overtime to allow his team to escape with a 42-41 victory.  Henry Clay held a 28-20 lead with 2:46 to play in regulation but Scott County coach Jim McKee went into his bag of tricks to force overtime.  QB Chris Cronin acted like the snap from center went over his head when actually it was a direct snap to Sberna who ran 30 yards for the score with less than a minute to play.  Sberna added a two point conversion to force overtime.

The teams traded touchdowns in the first overtime and Henry Clay kicker Peter Mashni was forced to drill a 35 yard extra point because of a Henry Clay penalty to tie the game and force overtime number two.  Henry Clay took a 42-35 lead on a five yard run by Clayton Heien and a Mashni conversion.  Scott County responded with a 10 yard scoring run by Ted Sberna but Sberna was stopped on the two-point conversion attempt as the Cardinals went for the win.
