Dr. Breuer's Philosophy of: 'You can read the history of a body in that body, if you know where to look!' This strong emphasis on physical diagnosis was the operating principle for the group.

• In the 1970s a Holistic dialogue group began which consisted of people from various fields of expertise. After forming a network of individuals who respected each other's talents and abilities, Dr. Breuer began active plans to create an institution and gather various professionals in one location.
• In the 1980s, there began a strong movement of holistic thinking. Dr. Breuer gathered the initial group which included a psychology, hypnotherapy, fitness training & sports performance enhancement, chiropractic, masssage therapy, and spiritual counseling. Eventually the group expanded to include many fields: Osteopathy, Nutritional counseling and dietetics, Family Medicine, Tai Chi, Yoga, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Herbal Approaches and Family Counseling... just to name a few.
• In 1987, the Facility carried the corporate name of 'Sports & Performance Rehab Facility'... basing much of its hi-tech work on the methods used by athletes and dancers which provided quick timelines and individualized care, which were offered to the general public of all ages. It location in a former elementary school building provided the space needed to grow, as well as an aerobics gym and auditorium with a stage so exact testing of athletes and dancers could be performed.

• With the growing public awareness of the concepts of Wellness and Integrative care, it was decided to rename the Facility as 'The Centre for Multidisciplinary Healthcare' to reflect the demographic needs of general population and the broad spectrum of expertise at the institution.

• Before the popularization of the internet, as a published science and medical writer, Dr. Breuer had the advantage of being 'on top of ' news and trends from all over the country and was able to keep the facility's staff abreast of the latest trends and discoveries as they were announced.

• With the swift expansion within all fields of knowledge, we recognize that it is necessary to have academic type people who are expert in their field as well as have a working knowledge of others.

• Since 1987, the facility grew quickly, adding numerous professionals and disciplines in an effort to cover most areas of complementary and alternative care, along with mainstream medicine. For may years the facility held a high practice emphasis in musculo-skeletal approaches, which seems to a natural model for many alternative care disciplines.

• COMPATIBLE CARE: Patient education is an important part of our mission. After a personal history is taken, the patient is examined and screened for objective signs and symptoms. After correlation of all findings, the patient is presented with choices (if appropriate) for therapies that may be of value. Mainstream and complemenary care methods are presented. With appropriate safeguards established for the patient's health, alternative care is considered.

• We believe that whatever apporaches are selected they should be based upon objective patholgy and concurrent care wherevever possible to insure all apects of a clinical entity are addressed.

• With our extremely large number of disclipines to draw from, a coordinated, individualized treatment plan is formulated, along with recommendations and choices of lifestyle modifications. Outside consultations/therapy recommendations are also considered.

• All therapies are then considered in terms of appropriateness, timelines and cost efficiency.
• We believe that health care is a dual responsibility. A patient MUST take responsibility for their own health and actively seek anything that can help in the short and long term.
• It is our opinion that as research showing the efficacy and reproducability of alternative methods is demonstrated, we will see the absorption into the mainstream professions.
