Sour Dough Biscuits

STARTER

2 c. flour

2 c. warm water

1 pkg. Active dry yeast

1 Tbs. sugar

Combine all ingredients in a glass or pottery bowl. Mix well. Cover loosely with plastic wrap. Let stand in a warm place 2-3 days. After that keep in the refrigerator.

BISCUITS

1 c. starter

2 c. self-rising flour

¼ c. shortening

1/3 c. milk

Cut shortening into flour. Add starter and milk. Knead gently. Roll to ½ “ thickness and cut with biscuit cutter. Bake at 450 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Serve hot with butter and favorite jams or honey.
