The lockets have openings on top into which you can tuck in a coin or two; the lipstick holders may also be used to carry a tiny perfume bottle. They're mostly single and double crochet on crocheted chains.
MATERIALS: 4-strand embroidery thread, (I used 3 skeins of 8.75 yds. each to make a locket and lipstick holder set of the same color.); steel crochet hook size 1.
GAUGE: Locket measures 1-1/2" in diameter.
LOCKET: Starting at center, ch 5. Join with a slst to form ring.
RND 1: Ch 1, work 9 sc in ring; slst in ch 1.
RND 2: Ch 4, skip next sc in next sc, (ch 3, sk next sc, sc in next sc) 3 times; ch 3, skip last sc, sc in first ch of ch 4 (5 ch sp).
RND 3: Slst in first ch-3 sp, ch 3, work 5 dc in same sp, ch 1, (work 6 dc in next ch-3 sp, ch 1) 4 times; slst in top of ch 3.
RND 4: Ch 1, sc in each dc and ch-1 sp around; slst in first ch 1. Break off. Make another piece in the same manner.
FINISHING: With wrong sides of locket pieces facing and working through both thicknesses, slst in back loops only of corresponding sts around outer edges, leaving 1" opening; crochet chain 22" long; slst in first slst. Break off.
LIPSTICK HOLDER:
Starting at bottom, ch 5. Join with slst to form ring. RND 1: Ch 1, work 6 sc in ring; join with slst in ch 1.
RND 2: Ch 1, work sc in same place as slst, (2 sc in next sc) 6 times; join.
RND 3: Ch1, sc in each sc around (13 sc); join.
RND 4: Ch 2, hdc in same place as slst (first cl made); ch 1, sk next sc, *yo, insert hook in next sc and draw lp through, yo, insert hook in same sc and pull through all 5 lps on hook (another cl made); ch 1 skip next sc. Repeat from * around; slst in top of ch 2 (7 cl).
RND 5: Ch 1, (sc in next ch-1 sp, sc in top of next cl) 6 times; sc in next ch-1 (13 sc); join. Repeat 4th and 5th rnds 4 times more. Crochet chain 22" long or desired length; slst in opposite side of last rnd at top of holder. Break off.
