Chapter 9"I think I'm beginning to like the sound of that," Kristen said as AJ took her hand and led her into the house.
"Can we have cake now?" Angel asked running up to Kristen and AJ.
"Yes we can," Kristen said as Toni came up to her and gave her a hug.
"Sorry about us all leaving, I was just getting a tad bit impatient waiting for you two to stop kissing," she said.
"Hey, it was a good kiss," AJ said and Toni gave him a weird look.
"Toni help me out with this dress. I can barely walk with this train can you please take it off for me?" Kristen asked. Toni detached it and then took it into another room where it wouldn't get ruined.
"It's time for you two to cut the cake," Cindy said giving her daughter a hug and a kiss on the cheek. Kristen grabbed AJ's hand and pulled him along as she followed her mom. They reached the table with the cake and Cindy got everyone's attention. Kristen and AJ picked up the knife together to cut the cake. They sliced the cake and each picked up a small slice in their hands. Kristen put a piece in AJ's mouth. AJ went to do the same but then stopped.
"I just want you to know that I really do love you," AJ said as he smashed the cake in Kristen's face. Kristen stood there completely shocked over what he had just done.
"You will pay for that Mr. McLean. I'll be right back," she said leaving to go clean all the cake off of her face. She went into the bathroom and AJ followed behind her.
"Come here," he said wrapping his arms around her and kissing her taking all of the icing off her lips. AJ helped her clean up and they went back to the party.
"What's that?" Kristen asked as she heard music playing from outside.
"Just a little something I got you for our wedding," AJ said. Kristen made out the song to be 'I Do (Cherish You)' then took off running out of the house and into the backyard. There she saw 98 Degrees singing one of her favorite songs. "May I have this dance?" AJ asked holding out his hand. Kristen took it as he led her out onto a large grassy area where they were singing. He wrapped his arms around her and held her close as they danced. "You look so beautiful," AJ said as Kristen kissed him in response.
"Go put on a slow song in the stereo please," Kristen told AJ when 98 Degrees finished singing.
"Any requests?"
"Yeah, a slow song that I can dance with Nick too," Kristen said with a smile.
"Which Nick?"
"Lachey."
"Okay but just remember that you are married to me now and he's dating Jessica Simpson," AJ said walking away to put on a slow song. Kristen went up to Nick and he gladly accepted a dance with her.
"Wow AJ. You two have been married an hour and you already lost your wife to another guy," Toni said sarcastically.
"I don't find that funny. How about if you and I have this dance together?"
"Sure," Toni said as AJ led her onto the grass where Nick and Kristen were and they began dancing. Everyone was dancing and having a good time when Nick (Carter) went up to Kristen who was now dancing with her dad.
"Can we talk a minute in private?" he asked her.
"Sure, " Kristen said giving him a weird looking as she tried to figure out what he wanted to talk to her about. "I'll be right back," she said to her dad as she followed Nick into the house to an empty room. "What's wrong?"
"I saw you breaking down earlier when Cassie said she slept with AJ last night. I know that she lied but I also know that it wasn't a lie when I slept with her."
"Nick, please don't bring this up."
"I have to. I was a jerk and was never there for you when you needed me then I completely betrayed you. I realized how much I must have hurt you and I'm so so sorry."
"It's in the past. You don't need to worry about it any more."
"I know but I just want to tell you that I'm so sorry. I know we probably wouldn't have lasted much longer because I treated you like crap."
"Nick..."
"Let me finish," Nick said interrupting. "I'm glad that after everything that happened between us we could become best friends and I will always love you in that way no matter what. If AJ can't be there for you I just want you to know that I will be. My way of repaying you for everything I've done to you and a thank you for introducing me to Toni."
"I'll keep that in mind. I love you too," Kristen said wrapping her arms around Nick and giving him a hug. She pulled away from him and Nick saw that she was crying.
"What's wrong?"
"I just realized that even though I've been through so much I have to be the happiest person alive. I just married the greatest guy and I have the greatest friends such as you and Toni."
"Well I feel honored to be a great friend of yours, come on," Nick said giving her a kiss on the cheek then taking her arm as they walked back out arm in arm.
"Hey we need to get this going," AJ said walking up to them. "We have a plane to catch in two hours and we still have to get back to the house to get our stuff and get ready for a little fun," AJ said taking Kristen from Nick and holding her close.
"Okay, I'm going to leave you two alone before you decide to get it on in the middle of the hall," Nick said leaving them alone.
"Anyways, you need to throw your bouquet and I need to get up your dress and get that leg thingy off of you," AJ said with a smile.
"Why do I have a feeling that's not the only reason you want to get up my dress?" Kristen asked with a wicked smile.
"That's because it's not but we'll save that for later, come on." They went back outside and Kristen grabbed her bouquet so she could throw it. Kristen stood up on a chair with her back towards everyone and threw the bouquet backwards over her head. She turned around and saw all of her friends on the ground fighting over the bouquet.
"Hey you should do this more often," Nick said to Kristen with a smile since he had just seen Toni's dress fly up. Kristen gave him a weird look as he helped her off the chair. After about a minute of fighting for the bouquet Mandy jumped up with it in her hands with half the flowers out of it. Kristen ran up to Mandy and gave her a hug.
"You know you were supposed to throw that to me," Toni said.
"Hey, I wasn't picking favorites but you know I love you," Kristen said giving Toni a hug too.
"Okay okay hate to interrupt but now comes the fun part," AJ said grabbing Kristen's hand and leading her back to the chair where she sat down.
"You know I think you are enjoying this a little too much."
"No, I'll enjoy tonight a little too much," AJ said with a wicked smile. All the guys got in a huge group in front of them waiting for AJ to throw the leg garder. AJ put his hands up her dress and instead of taking the leg garder off he began rubbing her thigh.
"AJ," Kristen whispered to him. "Save it."
"Fine." Kristen couldn't figure out what was taking AJ so long to take the leg garder off considering he was barely even touching her leg. Finally AJ took his hands out from under dress and instead of holding up the leg garder he was holding up a pair of white silk thong panties. Kristen's mouth dropped to the floor as all the guys whistled and screamed while all the girls laughed. Kristen looked at AJ and saw that he was laughing too and she hit him in the arm. "I'm sorry but I had to do it," AJ said getting up and giving Kristen a quick kiss on the lips. He had put the panties in the sleeve of his jacket so that when it was time to get the leg garder off he could play a little trick. He finally got the leg garder off of her then threw it. TJ jumped up and grabbed it. "You know I should be able to keep that thing since it was on you."
"You poor baby," Kristen said sarcastically.
"Alright we need to go or we are going to be late."
"No, Mandy and TJ have to dance now since they got the bouquet and leg garder and I can't miss this."
"Why?"
"Because TJ has a little thing for her."
"And you know this how?"
"He told me so. Let's just wait five minutes, please?" Kristen asked with a smile and AJ agreed. Mandy and TJ danced and when they finished Kristen and AJ went to leave.
"You have got to be kidding me," AJ said as him and Kristen walked out with everyone throwing bird seed at him. AJ saw his car and it was covered in all kinds of things for babies such as stuffed animals and baby clothes.
"Ah how cute! Don't freak out AJ they could have done much worse and toilet papered your car and put shaving cream all over it." The two of them began taking all the stuff off the car and putting it in the trunk.
"Hey, we figured you wouldn't want to have kids for a little while so we put some safety precautions in your car," Brian said going up to them. AJ just looked at him weird then opened the passenger side door to let Kristen in. A whole bunch of small boxes fell out. AJ looked and saw that there was at least a hundred boxes of condoms put in his car.
"Oh my God," Kristen said embarassed as once again the guys started whistling. AJ took all the boxes of condoms out so they were just laying in the driveway. AJ started looking through all the boxes until he picked one up and showed it to Kristen.
"Twelve-pack ribbed for the girl's pleasure," AJ said with a smile. "We'll take these with us. We'll leave the rest for Nick and Toni or who ever wants them. Come on." Kristen got in the car and AJ got in the driver's seat as they pulled away. By the time they got back to his house, changed, and got everything in the car to head to the airport they only had thirty minutes until their plane left. When they got to the aiport they had to run all the way to the gate and got there just as the gate was closing. Kristen collapsed into her first class seat next to AJ when they got on the plane. "Better start sleeping because I'll be keeping you up all night," AJ whispered in her ear. Kristen leaned her head upgainst AJ's shoulder and fell asleep with a smile on her face.
