Chapter 54"Hey baby," AJ said walking into the room and setting the flowers down. He went to give Kristen a kiss but she turned her face away from his.
"All I said was that I wanted you in here. I didn't say I wanted you in here so you could fucking touch me."
"Baby you have no idea how sorry I am. The whole flight here I've been scared to death over you and the baby."
"Don't you just mean me? I thought you didn't care about the baby?"
"I do, I always have. Just Nick made me realize how incredibly scared I was. The whole time you've been pregnant I've been scared for you, I never thought about anything else. Nick got me to think about everything else which made me scared about it all."
"AJ you said you didn't want the baby," Kristen said with tears in her eyes.
"I don't care what I said before. All that matters is what I'm saying now. I love you and I love this baby just as much," AJ said as he rubbed his hand across her stomach. Kristen looked him in the eyes and could tell that this time he was surely telling the truth and she reached up placing her hand on the back of AJ's head and pulled his face towards her as she kissed him.
"I love you so much," Kristen said wrapping her arms around his neck as she clutched onto him.
"I love you too."
"Then make the pain go away. Please make it go away AJ," Kristen said crying harder as she held onto him.
"I wish I could but I can't. This baby is the only thing that can make it go away when it's ready to come out."
"It is ready to come out AJ. It's too soon. I can't give birth to this baby."
"Sorry to tell you this Kristen but you can't exactly give birth to this baby normally," Dr. Miller said coming into the room.
"What the hell do you mean I can't give birth normally?"
"Your baby is breached so we're going to have do a cesarean."
"The fuck you are!"
"Kristen calm down," AJ told her.
"No! You are not slicing me open! Not in a million fucking years! Why the hell can't you just turn it around manually and let me do this normally!"
"Normally we would but considering you are eight weeks earlier it would be safer for the baby if we did a cesarean."
"You are not cutting me open!"
"Kristen I think you should listen to her. She knows what she's talking about," AJ said.
"Who the hells side are you on anyways? You know what who cares whose side you’re on just get your ass out of here!" Kristen yelled but AJ tried to object. She wouldn’t let him and she picked up the vase with the bouquet of flowers in it and went to throw it at him so he took off running out the room. Kristen threw the bouquet but missed causing the vase to shatter when it hit the wall.
"Good at least I’m not the only one she is throwing things at," Toni said to AJ. "But at least you didn’t get hit."
"Oh yeah I’m really lucky for that," AJ said sarcastically.
"I hate to tell you this AJ but your wife is a complete bitch."
"Toni," Jane said giving her an upset look.
"I’m sorry but she is! You haven’t been in there when she’s having a cow. I’ve had to deal with her all day. Jane you are the one who is supposed to be dealing with her. It was your idea for me to take her out and then she decides to let her water break in Nick’s freaking prowler."
"You took Nick’s prowler?"
"Yes I took Nick’s prowler I’m guilty as charged here. Please please please don’t tell Nick," Toni said getting down on her knees and begging her. "How about you ground him from his car forever that way he’ll never find out." Jane just laughed at Toni then helped her to her feet.
"Alexander James McLean get your ass over her now!" Kristen yelled as some nurses began wheeling her bed out of the room and down the hall.
"I swear this woman has multiple personalities," AJ said running down the hall.
"Good luck!" Jane yelled after him.
"No kidding. He’s going to need all the luck he can get with that girl."
"Where are you taking her now?" AJ asked Dr. Miller.
"We're going to get the baby out."
"We aren't doing shit!" Kristen yelled. "I am taking this baby out! I don't want you near my stomach!"
"Aren't there any drugs you can give her to get her to calm down or something?" AJ asked.
"It's a little too late for that now." When they got into the other room Kristen started crying her eyes out.
"It's going to be okay," AJ said grabbing her hand squeezing it as a nurse put a curtain type thing up across Kristen's chest so she couldn't see what was going on. "This is really sick," AJ commented as he watched the whole thing.
"Shut up AJ," Kristen said with tears still flowing from her eyes. "It's not like it's any better on my end to be sliced and diced."
"You're not planning on having any more kids like this are you?" AJ asked as he watched then his eyes got all big.
"I'm warning you to shut up."
"Sorry, I'll just look at your face it's a lot more beautiful," he said and kissed her on her forehead.
"And here comes the baby," Dr. Miller said about fifteen minutes later and AJ quickly turned his face around to see the baby. Kristen saw tears immediately form in AJ's eyes. Then she started crying even more when she heard the baby crying.
"She's beautiful, baby," AJ said looking at Kristen.
"It's a girl?" she asked and AJ nodded his head yes. A huge smile formed on Kristen's face and AJ knelt down and kissed her. "I love you so much."
"I love you too, now we just have to worry about her going and getting pregnant," AJ joked.
"I think we have a while before we have to worry about that."
"Did you want to cut the umbilical cord?" Dr. Miller asked AJ.
"The what?" AJ asked confused and she showed him and he cut it. "You're going to wipe her off or something aren't you before we hold her?"
"I don't care I want to hold her now," Kristen said.
"We can't let you hold her right now but we can let your husband before we take her to see if she's 100% okay." She wrapped a pink blanket around her and carefully placed her in AJ's arms showing him how to old her. The tears that were forming in AJ's eyes began to slowly roll down his cheeks.
"AJ I want to see her," Kristen said and AJ moved to where Kristen could see her. "She's so tiny," Kristen said picking the baby's hand up in her own.
"I need to take her now," Dr. Miller said taking her from AJ.
"When I can I hold her?" Kristen asked.
"Maybe in a few days depending on how the baby is doing. She is eight weeks early you know," she said and Kristen nodded her head in agreement.
Two days had passed and Kristen was in her hospital room finally being able to hold her baby while AJ sat on the bed with his arms around Kristen. "Oh now this is a kodak moment," Toni said peaking her head into the bedroom.
"Girl where have you been?" Kristen asked not to loudly since the baby was asleep in her arms. "Get your butt in here and see me."
"You're not going to throw anything at me are you?"
"If you don't get in here I will."
"Well that's good. Sorry I didn't see you yesterday but you had an attitude from hell and I figured I would wait another day to make sure it was gone, congratulations," Toni said kissing her on the forehead. "Oh she's so cute!" Toni said looking at the baby. "She's so little just like her mommy."
"Never thought in a million years I would ever see Bone as a father," Kristen heard someone say from the doorway. She looked to see who it was and saw that the voice came from Brian and the other three guys were standing behind him.
"Hey, come on in," Kristen said and they all went and stood around the bed. "Oh Nick I'm sorry about your car."
"What about my car?" Nick asked looking right at Toni and Toni glared at Kristen. "You didn't pop this kid out in my car did you?"
"Well kind of...." Kristen began when Nick cut her off.
"Love ya Kristen, you have a beautiful baby, congratulations and I will see you later," Nick said really fast as he grabbed Toni's arm and pulled her out of the room so they could get to his house so he could check on his car.
"Nick and his car, he's going to have a fit about it you know that don't you?" Kevin asked Kristen and she nodded her head. "I wouldn't worry about it though, he'll get over it. Can I hold her?"
"Sure," Kristen said as Kevin held the baby in his arms.
"She's a little thing. How much does she weigh?"
"Three pounds, 2 ounces, and she's perfectly healthy," AJ said all proud.
"What did you name her?" Howie asked.
"Mariah Jean."
"Mariah Jean McLean," Brian said. "Hey that sort of rhymes you know?"
"It's a cute name so shut up Brian," Kristen said.
"AJ I don't know how something this adorable could be partly made by you. But then again there's Kristen's looks to help make up for it," Kevin said.
"I don't find you funny."
"Sorry," Kevin said giving the baby back to Kristen. "We'll see you two a little later before we leave tomorrow for another concert. AJ, this will be the first and last time I'm telling you this but you can miss as many concerts as you need to."
"Thanks man," AJ said as the guys left the room.
"I can't believe I finally have my little baby," Kristen said.
"Didn't I promise you that third time was a charm?" AJ asked and Kristen smiled. "Now we have our perfect little family but I believe you'll want this back," AJ said slipping her wedding ring back on her finger. I love you Mrs. McLean."
"I love you too Mr. McLean," Kristen said as AJ gave her a kiss.
