Chapter 36"Yeah but I put it down somewhere on the bus and when it started ringing I couldn't find it. Did you talk to Kristen?"
"Oh yeah I talked to her."
"What did she say?"
"She's scared to death AJ."
"Over what?" AJ asked confused.
"Everything happening now and everything in the past with the guy trying to kill her. She's freaked out about it."
"What brought all that back up?"
"She said that when she was in the hospital after the miscarriage she just started thinking about it all."
"And how does that tie with her not wanting to talk to me?"
"She doesn't know what to say to you. She thinks she owes you an apology for losing both babies. She says it's her fault. She's also afraid that she can't have kids and you will hate her for that. When you see her on your anniversary you need to just tell her that it's not true and you love her."
"Don't worry about that, I will."
"There's also one tiny weenie little thing you should know about."
"And what's that?" AJ asked.
"Well I took Kristen to the doctor today to see if someone could help her out with all these crazy things she's thinking and you know how some people are diagnosed as being manic-depressive?"
"Yeah."
"Well, she's just plain depressive. There's no manic in her right now so the doctor put her on some medications."
"Shit. This constant depression thing isn't permanent is it?"
"Oh no, not at all. The doctor says she'll only need to take the medication when she's dealing with a lot of stress since that's what's causing the depression. My opinion is you just need to make this anniversary good so it will cheer her up."
"Trust me it's good. I've rented a cabin type place a few hours from Orlando that is completely isolated so just me and her."
"That's good but go easy with her since she'll probably be sore having sex because of the miscarriage. But I'll talk to you later since that's all I have to say."
"Alright thanks Toni," AJ said hanging up the phone then going to the back of the bus where all the other guys were.
"How's Kristen doing?" Howie asked.
"She'll be doing better in a little while I think."
"Then why do you look so confused."
"Don't think me stupid for asking but the first time a girl has sex after having a miscarriage is she going to be sore?"
"Yeah probably," Kristin said. She was with the guys on tour since she was one of their backup dancers. She was the only dancer who stayed on the Backstreet Boys' bus though.
"How do you know that for sure?" AJ asked.
"Because my friend had a miscarriage and she told me it did and the doctor warned her it would too."
"Well what am I supposed to do? I mean we're going to be alone on our anniversary so we all know I'll be getting my groove on and I don't want to hurt her," AJ said worriedly.
"Getting your groove on? That's a nice way to put it," Kevin said sarcastically.
"You've slept with your fair share of girls. Just treat her like you did when you were some other girl's first time," Kristin said.
"I've never been any girls first."
"Now that's pretty sad considering the number of girls you've slept with. Are you sure you don't have any kind of sexually transmitted diseases or something?" Nick asked.
"Shut the hell up. I haven't slept with that many people like you all think I have. Well you were Toni's first so how did you treat her?"
"I didn't know I was her first so I just went with the flow and it was a great flow," Nick said with a smile.
"I never thought the day would come when we would have to give AJ sex advice," Howie said.
"Hey this is a first. Kev where's your video camera when we need it? We should be getting this on tape for proof," Brian said.
"The battery is charging or else I would have it out since no one would believe this. I'm having a hard time believing it and I'm sitting here listening to it all."
"Is Kristin the only one taking this seriously?" AJ asked starting to get aggravated with all of them.
"Yes but that's because they are all male and I'm not. Just be gentle with her. Besides she's not going to care if you're hurting her because she loves you."
"I don't think Bone is going to have any trouble with not hurting her since there isn't much there to hurt her with," Brian said and AJ grabbed a pillow and threw it at him hitting him in the head.
"Why the hell is everyone always knarking on my dick! It's not even close to being small!"
"They're just jealous," Kristin said. "No guy is ever going to admit that another guy is big."
"Kristen says the same thing about my dick saying it's small and she's not male."
"Yeah but there's a difference. Any guy's wife or girlfriend is going to say they are small just to get a reaction out of them. I would say the same thing about Kevin but..." Kristin began when Kevin put his hand over her mouth.
"We don't need to be bringing me into this conversation," he said then took his hand away.
"She wouldn't know anyways," Brian said. "They haven't had sex together yet."
"Brian!" Kevin and Kristin yelled at the same time.
"You haven't had sex with this beautiful girl yet?" AJ asked surprised.
"Okay this is my cue to get up and get something to drink before I start getting embarrassed," Kristin said getting up and leaving the room closing the door behind her.
"Nice going Brian," Kevin said glaring at him. "There are two major differences going on in this group. You have the people like Brian, Nick, and AJ that will go all the way after dating their girlfriends for a week. Then you have the people like me and Howie who actually wait a while so we know it's worth it."
"And we're not deprived of it either," Howie said knowing exactly what they were thinking.
"No, Nick Lachey, now that is one deprived man. How long have him and Jessica Simpson been going out and they even say in magazines they haven't had sex yet?" Nick asked.
"That's because Lachey actually respects his girlfriend," Howie said.
"Hey I respect Toni very much. And I don't think she's ever told me that I have a small dick like Kristen told AJ."
"Nick, that's because you do have a small dick and she doesn't want to hurt your feelings by saying so since it would be true," Brian said and the other guys started laughing.
"If you ever wonder why your ass is so big it's because something had to make up for the smallness of other things," AJ said and Nick got up.
"I'm not talking to any of you. I'll go talk to Kristin who actually has something to say that isn't putting someone else down. Because there are two types of people," Nick said mocking Kevin when he was saying the differences in the group. "There are the people like me and Kristin who don't put others down and then there's you guys," he said leaving the room slamming the door shut behind him.
"Did I miss something?" Howie asked. "Wasn't he cutting down AJ a few minutes ago?"
"Yes he was, you all were," AJ said.
"Well that's Nick for ya. He's still young so his brain hasn't fully developed yet," Brian said.
"Brian some of the things you do and say might make us think the same thing about you," Kevin said when the bus pulled to a stop. "Now that we are here enough talk about sex and anything else that is involved with it. Let's go." They all grabbed their backpacks and headed off the bus. AJ knew that he was going to perform better at the concert that night since he knew for a fact that Toni was watching out for Kristen and he wouldn't have to worry so much.
