Chapter 20"Will you get your mind out of the gutter before it gets ran over. Not like it would do any damage or anything though," Kristen said.
"Why are you being so mean to me today?"
"I'm not but if I do recall you were the one who just barged in our house and saw me and AJ on the floor. I would never do that to you and Nick."
"No just when we were still living together you just barged in the bedroom in the middle of me and Nick having sex."
"It was my room!" Kristen yelled at her.
"You two argue over the stupidest things sometimes you know that don't you?" AJ asked.
"Oh well. Why did you come here anyways?" Kristen asked Toni.
"Because me and you have gone out like once together since you and AJ got back from your very short honeymoon. I thought we could do something, I miss my twin," Toni said referring to Kristen.
"Sorry, I can't. Me, Mandy, and Jasmine have to go to Lou's studio and talk about this whole group thing."
"Who the hell is Jasmine may I ask?"
"A girl in our group."
"You're going to be spending all your time with Mandy and this Jasmine girl then aren't you?"
"Toni it's not my fault. I have to. You know I still love you."
"Yeah yeah, I should be in the group with you guys. That would be cool."
"You should have gone and auditioned," AJ said interrupting their conversation.
"Like I would have a chance to get in against Mandy and Kristen. They both had a background experience with that whole deal over at the college."
"Hey if they make it big and start their own tour try out for a backup dancer if they have them," AJ suggested. "I've seen you dance before, you're good."
"I doubt that will happen for at least a year. I need something to do until then. I'm getting bored at Nick's every single hour of the day."
"Oh is Toni getting tired of her sex machine?" Kristen asked sarcastically.
"Oh hell no, that's all good. Just when Nick goes out I get bored. He pays for everything for me I need to get another job. I haven't had one since the whole accident with that dude and I moved in with Nick."
"So find a job," Kristen said simply.
"Like what?"
"Work for Playboy magazine," AJ suggested jokingly and Toni picked up a magazine and smacked him with it. "What the hell was that for?"
"For being a smartass."
"Hey I was only trying to help."
"Go pick up a newspaper today and look in the classifieds to see what jobs are open," Kristen suggested. "Where is Nick? Why aren't you with him today?"
"He went to Brian's to play some basketball. Brian kicked his butt again yesterday and Nick won't give up until he wins at least once."
"He's a sore loser."
"Tell me about it," Toni said when the door bell rang.
"I'll get it," AJ said going to the door. "Hey Mandy how's it going?" he asked giving her a hug.
"Absolutely terrific," Mandy said happily. "Where's Kristen?"
"Right here," Kristen said as her and Toni went to the door. "How was your date last night?"
"Whoa did Howie finally get the courage to ask you out?" AJ asked and Kristen smacked him. "Now what was that for?"
"Don't say anything unless you know the facts about who is going out with who."
"Yes ma'am," AJ said walking away.
"So how was your date last night?" Kristen asked repeating herself.
"Oh my God Kristen it was great. TJ is so sweet!"
"Are you two going out now?"
"Yes, I'm happy to say we are. The only bad thing is TJ leaves in a week for Britney's tour."
"How long is he going to be gone?"
"Three and a half months."
"Ouch, that has to put a huge strain on a relationship that just started," Toni said.
"You know you are just as bad as AJ sometimes when it comes to opening your mouth at the wrong time," Kristen said.
"Okay I'm sorry. You don't need to have a cow about it."
"We need to get going," Mandy said. "We have to meet Jasmine at Lou's studio in twenty minutes. And this time I'm driving so you can't get pissed off and leave me."
"It's not going to happen this time. Let me just get my purse and say good-bye to AJ. I'll see you later," Kristen said giving AJ a kiss.
"Mind if Toni hangs out here for a while? Nick is gone and you are leaving so neither one of us has anything to do."
"AJ, you don't need my permission to hang out with Toni. As long as you don't touch her it's all good."
"The only person I'm going to be touching is you when you get home," AJ said with an evil grin.
"You are horny you know that?"
"Only for you."
"I'll see you later AJ," Kristen said leaving. Kristen and Mandy got in Mandy's car and arrived at Lou's studio about fifteen minutes later. They went in the building and walked towards the small conference room and saw Jasmine waiting outside the door.
"Are we late?" Mandy asked Jasmine.
"No, you're a few minutes early. Howie and Lou are in there discussing something."
"Discussing what?" Kristen asked.
"I' m not sure. They wouldn't tell me then made me leave the room and wait for you guys."
"Well I don't care what Howie and Lou are discussing in there, Kristen just don't get all mad about whatever it is please," Mandy said to Kristen.
"I won't I promise. I'm in a good mood and I don't want to ruin it for myself," Kristen said. They waited outside the room for about ten more minutes before Lou opened the door and allowed the three of them in the room. "Okay what was that all about?" Kristen asked as she sat down at the table across from where Lou and Howie were sitting.
"Well, let's put it this way," Howie said. "I'm the new part time manager of Love's Angels."
"That's great!" Jasmine and Mandy said in unison.
"Yeah it is but who the hell is Love's Angels?" Kristen asked.
"Kristen, you are having a blonde moment right now," Mandy said trying not to put it in a cruel way. "That is us."
"Oh, how was I supposed to know?"
"So what is this going to do for us?" Jasmine asked.
"I'm going to help Lou out with this group. No one is going to get ripped off of their money and no one is going to get more than their share," Howie said.
"Hey I'm all for that," Kristen said.
"Since we are already behind we need to go over this contract," Lou said handing everyone another copy of the contract. "Look it over and see if you have any questions." Kristen, Mandy, Jasmine, and Howie sat there looking over the contract to see if they were okay with all of it for a little while.
"I'm going to have to argue about one little thing in here," Kristen said when she finished reading it.
"Well maybe we can compromise on it. What's the problem?" Lou asked.
"I don't think there can be a compromise with this. What is this whole deal about since the group consists of three girls none of us can get pregnant?"
"If one of you girls got pregnant it could ruin the group this early on. The contract is only for two years until it is renewed depending on how big you three are. But with this contract none of you can get pregnant. Teenage girls will be looking up to you and if they see you having a baby they might want to do the same," Lou explained.
"No Lou, there is a huge difference here. All three of us are in our twenties and I'm married. If I were to get pregnant at least I would be married. That is the kind of thing to teach to fans. Wait till you are married."
"Kristen you are the baby of the group. You absolutely cannot have a baby yourself. It wouldn't be right in the fans and the press' view."
"I may be the baby of the group but I am not a baby in person. I'm a grown woman with a husband and if we want a family we are going to make one. A contract isn't going to stop us from it," Kristen argued.
"You are twenty years old and AJ is twenty-two and the two of you haven't even been married a year and you both are going to be touring. You can't exactly tell me that even one of you is going to have time for children when you will barely have enough time for each other."
"That is mine and AJ's business though! I'm not going to put on some act and not have a family when I want one because it's what fans would want. AJ and I are trying to have a baby so what are you going to do if I'm pregnant right now? Make me get an abortion?" Kristen asked sarcastically.
"You being part manager and all, aren't you going to step in and say something?" Jasmine whispered to Howie.
"I will in a second," Howie said.
"I have to say that I'm with Kristen on this one," Mandy said. "Two years is a long time and me or Jasmine could be married before that time and want the same thing as Kristen and AJ."
"You girls can hold out for two years," Lou argued.
"Lou, I think you should just take that part of the contract out," Howie said. "You can run the group but you can't run their lives."
"Fine, it's out," Lou said finally giving in. He pulled out his laptop bringing up the contract and took out that part of the contract. "Is there anything else?"
"Everything else seemed fine to me," Kristen said and Mandy and Jasmine agreed.
"What do you think Howie?" Jasmine asked.
"I think it's all good. Congratulations to you all. No one is going to get ripped off."
"Now that this is all settled," Lou said as he printed out the revised copy of the contract then handed it to Kristen, Jasmine, and Mandy. "Now all you three need to do is sign on the lines." They did as he said and handed the contracts back to him. "We start recording your first single tomorrow so make sure you are here by noon. See you then," Lou said as he shook all their hands. After that they all went home excited about the next day with recording their first single.
