Chapter 15
A week had passed and Kristen, Mandy, and Toni were at the mall doing some
shopping. "Have you two heard anything about whether or not you made the
group?" Toni asked.
"No, I'm guessing neither one of us made it," Kristen said. "The losers are never informed about anything."
"We should still call and check to see who made the group just to be on the safe side," Mandy said.
"Okay you do that. I don't want someone to have the satisfaction of telling me that I'm not good enough to be a professional singer."
"Kristen you make me sick. At least you were good enough to get an audition in the first place. Hey, Mandy I have a question for ya."
"Shoot," Mandy said.
"You're still single and both TJ and Howie have the hots for you. Who are you going to choose?"
"Toni, I told you not to say anything about that," Kristen said.
"So sue me, I wanna know."
"Okay since when does Howie like me?" Mandy asked confused.
"Since Toni can't keep her mouth shut I might as well inform you. Ever since the wedding he's taken a liking in you. He thinks you're beautiful, sweet, and all that good stuff," Kristen said.
"You're kidding me right?"
"Nope. I found out from AJ. He made me promise not to tell anyone but you can see how well that worked out since I told Toni."
"I think you should go for Howie," Toni said.
"You're only saying that because then she would be dating a Backstreet Boy," Kristen said.
"That and also because if you went out with TJ, Miss Britney Spears would probably try and kill Mandy."
"So is the only reason you are dating Nick is because he's a Backstreet Boy?" Mandy asked.
"No, he's also good in bed," Toni said with a smile.
"Hello! I don't want to know anything about your and Nick's sex life!" Kristen yelled at Toni.
"Well you told me about how you got the bruise. Like I wanted to know about that."
"You did want to know about that," Kristen reminded her and Toni just glared at her.
"You two make no sense at all," Mandy said.
"That is why we are friends, because neither of us makes sense," Toni said.
"Please only speak for yourself. I have to get going. I promised AJ I'd be home by the time he finished making dinner," Kristen said.
"He's cooking dinner for you?" Toni asked.
"Yes. We have eaten out every single day since we've been married and he insists on making something tonight. He's never made a dinner for me so who knows what he's going to try and make. I'll see you guys later," Kristen said as she turned to leave the mall. Kristen got home about a half hour later and walked into a dark living room but she saw that the kitchen light was on. "Did you burn something?" Kristen hollered to AJ. AJ came out of the kitchen and wrapped his arms around Kristen and kissed her passionately. "Nice to see you too," Kristen said pulling away. "Now did you burn something?" Kristen asked going towards the kitchen. She passed by the dining room and saw a table set for two with two candles lit. She then saw that there were McDonald's hamburgers and fries set out on two plates for them. "McDonald's? This is real romantic," Kristen said sarcastically.
"Okay I'm guilty, I burned the food. I got side tracted and completely forgot about the food so I made a little trip to Mickey D's."
"That's fine AJ. You don't need to get all worried and defensive about it."
"Don't you want to know what got me side tracted?" AJ asked happily.
"Are you doing drugs?" Kristen asked trying to figure out why AJ was so happy.
"No, I'm not doing drugs. The federal express guy stopped by earlier and dropped off this envelope for you," AJ said handing the envelope.
"It's opened," Kristen said taking the envelope.
"Well you know me. I was too impatient to wait till you got home to see what it was about." Kristen opened the envelope and pulled out a letter. As Kristen began reading the letter her eyes began getting really wide and AJ just stood there with a smile on his face.
"Oh my God, I made it," Kristen said practically whispering. "I made it!" she screamed jumping on AJ wrapping her arms and legs around him almost knocking him over. As AJ held her up she grabbed his face and pulled him close to her and began kissing him. "AJ do you know what this means!" Kristen yelled separating from their kiss.
"That you're going to sing?" AJ asked.
"No you dumbass! I'm going to sing!" Kristen yelled freaking out. AJ just gave her a weird look. "This is going to be so great. You're already a professional singer and now I'm a professional singer. We could do duets together like Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson did! That would be so sweet!"
"Okay I'm happy for you and all but you need to take a little breather for a second or two," AJ said when they heard a car door shut in front of their house. Kristen jumped off AJ and ran to the window to see Mandy running up the front yard. Kristen opened the front door and ran outside.
"I made it!" both Mandy and Kristen screamed at the same time.
"You got in too?" Kristen asked happily.
"Yeah, I got a letter saying I was in," Mandy said excitedly as she waved the letter around.
"This is great!" Kristen screamed as she hugged Mandy. They went running back into the house to see AJ standing there with a weird look on his face.
"What?" Kristen and Mandy asked in unison.
"Nothing. I'm just a dumbass," AJ said simply walking away towards his and Kristen's room.
"What was that about?" Mandy asked.
"Oops, I got a little over excited when I found out. You better go I have to go talk to AJ."
"Alright, I'll pick you up tomorrow so we can go to the studio tomorrow. It said in the letter that they want all three of us to get to know each other and they are going to tell us how everything is going to go that way if we want to drop out we can do it now."
"Yeah, I know, I read it in the letter. See you tomorrow Mandy," Kristen said walking her to the door. She walked into their room to see AJ laying on the bed on his back with his hands behind his head. Kristen got on the bed and sat down on AJ's stomach and noticed he had a stupid grin on his face. "You're not mad at me are you," Kristen said.
"How did you guess?"
"Because if you were you wouldn't have that stupid ass grin on your face."
"Oh so now I have stupid grins along with being a dumbass?" AJ asked sarcastically.
"You know I love you. I wasn't serious."
"I know," AJ said grabbing Kristen's wrists and pulling her down towards him and kissing her.
"You were eating the fries and started dinner without me. That's very sweet of you," Kristen said sarcastically separating from their kiss.
"How'd you know?"
"I can taste the salt on your lips."
"I got hungry. So are you excited about being a professional singer in a pop group?" AJ asked although he already knew the answer.
"I'm ecstatic! Ever since my sophomore year in high school all I could dream about is what it would be like to sing for a living. I did talent shows and pageants all the time to show people I could sing and dance and that was what I wanted out of my life. And now I have it," Kristen said with a huge smile.
"This is why we make such a great couple. You can't live without music in your life and I can't live without music in my life or without you," AJ said. He pulled Kristen to him and turned her over on the bed and climbed on top of her as he kissed her.
