Chapter 1"I don't know. I guess I'm excited about it but it was much more exciting the first couple of weeks of us being engaged," Kristen said.
"Wouldn't it become more exciting instead of less?" Mandy asked and Kristen grabbed the remote control and turned on the television to MTV. There were the Backstreet Boys being interviewed about AJ being engaged and how they thought it would affect the group that was filmed a few days earlier.
"Ever since the public found out about AJ getting married they have all kinds of TV shows and radio specials to do. I hardly ever get to see him unless it's on TV," Kristen said turning off the television.
"It can't be that bad can it?"
"Oh yes it can be. I don't even get to see Nick that much any more," Toni said. "I also have found it a little odd that your picture hasn't been shown once in a magazine or on TV. You're the one he is marrying and I think fans would want to know about you. I mean if I hadn't met Nick and he was getting married to some girl I would want to know who she was."
"That's because you would want to go after her and kill her," Kristen said.
"So what's your point?"
"My point is there is probably some crazed AJ fan out there that is exactly like you and would want to kill me for marrying him. AJ is just sparing my life."
"Have you called your parents yet and told them about the wedding?" Toni asked changing the subject.
"No, I haven't."
"Why not? This is your wedding you can't tell me you don't want your family there for the most important day of your life."
"Toni my parents didn't even want me dating AJ after all hell broke loose. You actually think they would agree to me marrying him?"
"Okay did I miss something here?" Mandy asked. "What happened with you and your parents?"
"Me and AJ went to visit them and we had the house to ourselves and we sort of made it into their bedroom and my dad walked in on us," Kristen explained.
"Are you serious?"
"No joke. They kicked AJ out of the house and refused to let me come back to Orlando. I didn't exactly listen as you can tell."
"Okay question," Toni said. "The last time I asked you this question you said once." Kristen started shaking her head at Toni since she knew she what she was going to ask her. "How many times have you and AJ had sex since the engagement?"
"Toni," Mandy said giving her a weird look.
"What? It's just a question."
"Yeah a question that seems to be a little personal don't you think?"
"Toni thinks there is no such thing as a personal question. To her everything needs to be out in the open," Kristen said.
"So there's nothing wrong with that. I'm not going to say anything and neither is Mandy, are you?" Toni asked and she shook her head no. "See, so how many times have you guys done it since the engagement?"
"We haven't."
"You're kidding right?" Toni asked disbelieving.
"No I'm not kidding."
"Damn, I can tell you right now that this marriage isn't going to last very long," Toni said and Kristen and Mandy rolled their eyes at her. "Okay back to planning the wedding. Have you picked out a wedding dress yet?"
"No, there are so many that I want. I can't decide."
"What about bride's maid dresses?" Toni asked and Kristen shook her head no. "You are getting no where with this wedding. You know that don't you?"
"Well it's not my fault. If AJ were here to help me it would be a lot easier because then I could have his opinion. All I know is I want the maid of honor's dress a little different then the regular bride's maids."
"Do you know who's going to be your maid of honor yet?" Mandy asked and Toni looked at Kristen with a huge grin on her face.
"I haven't decided yet."
"What do you mean you haven't decided yet!" Toni yelled jumping up. "How much decision do you need? You're supposed to pick me! I've been there for you for everything and you haven't decided if you're going to pick me or not? How cruel is this! You're going to be my maid of honor when I get married and I won't even have to think about it!" Toni continued to yell freaking out.
"Toni, chill out. I was kidding, you don't need to throw a fit. You know you're my maid of honor."
"Oh I love you! I feel so honored!" Toni screamed giving Kristen a hug. Mandy looked at Toni like she had lost her mind.
"Don't worry, she's been acting like this a lot lately," Kristen said to Mandy since Mandy and Toni had only really spent time together when they were helping Kristen plan the wedding. "You know what this is ridiculous," Kristen said closing the wedding invitation book she was looking through.
"What do you mean?" Mandy asked.
"I mean AJ is supposed to be here so we can both agree on a wedding invitation. This is his wedding too and I'm the one who is doing all the work," Kristen said getting up and going into the kitchen. She came back into the living room with AJ's schedule her hand. "He's at the radio station right now. I'm going down there anyone want to come with me?" Kristen asked and both Mandy and Toni shook their heads because they knew Kristen would start something at the station with AJ. "Fine, I'll be back in about an hour or two. Do me a favor and go through some more magazines and mark all the pages that have really pretty dresses that would look good on me," Kristen said grabbing her car keys and walking out the door. She got to the radio station about twenty minutes later and she saw a huge crowd of fans standing outside the building. She knew then she would never get through. She parked her car about a block away and then reached the building and made her way through all the fans until she reached BSB's bodyguards standing in front of the door. The guards recognized Kristen so they let her through without letting any fans pass by then she walked to the front desk. "Can I speak with AJ McLean?" she asked. "He's doing an interview with the rest of the Backstreet Boys, I believe."
"I'm sorry but I can't permit any fans to go back there. You shouldn't even have been allowed in here so I'm going to have to ask you to leave," the secretary at the desk said.
"You see I'm not a fan, well yeah I am, but I'm AJ's fiance and I really need to speak with him."
"That's great and I'm already married to the eldest Backstreet Boy and we have three kids and another one on the way," the secretary said sarcastically.
"Oh how sweet is that. I didn't even know Kevin had a girlfriend let alone a wife," Kristen said with an attitude. The two of them stood there arguing for about ten minutes about letting Kristen go back to talk with AJ. Finally Kristen saw Brian walking down the hall so she hollered at him. As he went up to her the fans outside erupted with screams since they could see Brian through the window. "Brian will you please tell this lady who I am so I can go talk to AJ?" Kristen asked beginning to get aggravated.
"Sorry ma'am but I've never seen you before in my life," Brian said with a smile as he turned to walk away.
"Brian!" Kristen yelled at him before the secretary could yell at her some more to leave.
"I'm kidding, come on," Brian said turning back around grabbing Kristen's hand to follow him. Kristen just smiled at the secretary and she glared at her in return. "What are you doing here anyways?"
"Well, I hardly see AJ any more unless it's at night and I'm too tired to talk so I figured I would have to interrupt his schedule."
"Uh oh, this couldn't be good," Brian said jokingly. Brian led her to where they were broadcasting and saw that AJ was on air with the DJ. AJ saw Kristen through the window and smiled and waved at her. When they were off air AJ got up and walked out to where Kristen was at.
"What are you doing here?" AJ asked giving her a kiss on the cheek as Brian walked away.
"We need to talk about the wedding."
"Well can it wait until I get home? We're going to be on air again in a few minutes."
"See AJ that's just what I mean. You're always on air or in the middle of a TV show. I never get to talk to you anymore."
"Kristen this isn't my fault. It's part of the price I have to pay for being part of the Backstreet Boys. Toni and Nick haven't seen each other much either and she's okay with it so..."
"Toni and Nick also don't have a wedding to plan, AJ," Kristen said interrupting him. "I can't do this by myself. I want to have this wedding at the end of summer so it's not as hot out and that doesn't give us much time."
"Listen, I promise I will help you with this wedding."
"When?"
"When you decide to call up your parents and tell them we are getting married," AJ said since he knew Kristen was being stubborn about not calling them up.
"Hey AJ, you need to get back in there," Kevin said interrupting their conversation.
"Alright I'm coming," AJ said turning to walk away when Kristen grabbed his arm stopping him.
"See AJ, this is what I'm talking about," she said.
"Can you cover for me please?" AJ asked Kevin and he agreed. "What do you mean this is what you're talking about?"
"Toni brought up a good point to me. It seems as if all anyone cares about is that you're getting married, not to who you are getting married to."
"So you're saying you want some attention."
"No, what I'm saying is all you and anybody else care about is what the fans are thinking about this. What their reaction is going to be. You're giving all this attention to your fans but the one fan you aren't is the one you are getting married to."
"Listen, I'm sorry. I guess I just know how some of the fans can get when we have girlfriends. I'm afraid to see how they could get if they saw me with the girl I love and am going to marry. But I guess you're right and I have to change that," AJ said grabbing Kristen's hand and running down the hall pulling her along until they were standing in front of the window where all the fans were. Fans started screaming like crazy again with AJ standing in front of them.
"What are you doing?" Kristen asked him.
"I'm going to stop being selfish. I want people to know who you are," AJ said turning her and wrapping his arms around her waist and pressing his lips up against hers. The screams from the fans became louder. When Kristen heard someone yell 'slut' really loud she went to pull away from AJ but he just held her tighter and put more passion into the kiss. That happened again about three more times until Kristen just learned to ignore it and enjoyed being with AJ at that moment.
