Chapter 67
A couple of hours later Kristen and TJ headed back to Toni's parent's house to get Kristen's bag so they could go back to Nashville to get ready to leave again to their next city. When Kristen opened the front door Toni came running up to her. "Are you okay?" she asked.
"I'm fine," Kristen said then went into Toni's room to get her bag. "When do you go back home?" Kristen asked Toni when she went to the front door again and was about to walk out.
"In a few hours."
"You can come back to Nashville with us so you can catch your plane there if you want," Kristen said. Toni agreed and went and grabbed her bag then left with Kristen and TJ. The whole way to the airport in Nashville nobody said anything to each other. When they got to the airport TJ stayed with the cab while Kristen walked with Toni to her gate number.
"How long till your home for Christmas?" Toni asked at her gate.
"A few weeks. I don't know the exact day but I'll see you then," Kristen said giving Toni a hug. Toni began walking through the gate then stopped and turned around.
"I'm sorry about everything that you're going through, you know that don't you?" she asked.
"Yeah, well, that makes two of us."
"Bye," Toni said as she walked through the gate.
A couple hours later the plane landed in Orlando. Toni got off the plane and saw Nick and went up to him and gave him a quick kiss. "What happened to you?" Toni asked worriedly when she saw Nick's face was bruised.
"AJ is what happened," Nick said as he wrapped his arm around Toni as they walked.
"Why would AJ hit you?"
"Because I punched the living shit out of him. He started saying all kinds of shit about me and what happened with me and Kristen when we were dating. Toni I have a question and I need a serious answer to," Nick said as he stopped walking to face Toni.
"What is it?" Toni asked confused.
"Are you afraid that I'm going to cheat on you and go sleep with someone else like I did with Kristen?"
"What?" Toni asked shocked. "Nick I would never think you would cheat on me. I mean, yeah before we started dating I was afraid to be with you because I thought you would and I didn't want my heart broken like Kristen's was. But I trust you now, just like I know you trust me."
"I do trust you and I love you," Nick said as he wrapped his arms around Toni's waist and she wrapped her arms around his neck.
"I love you too," she said as they kissed. "And besides, if you did happen to have sex with someone else I would still stay with you, you just would never get anything from me," Toni said jokingly as they left the airport. Nick drove to his house where Toni ran upstairs to his bedroom where she placed her bag. Nick came up behind her wrapping his arm around her as he gently began kissing her neck. "What are you doing?" Toni asked with a smile.
"I missed you," he said still kissing her neck.
"I wasn't even gone a week."
"Yeah, well, you know me," Nick said then turned Toni's head so she was facing him and kissed her passionately on the lips. After about a minute Toni pulled away.
"Later," she said as she grabbed her car keys off of Nick's dresser.
"What do you mean later? Where are you going?" Nick asked disappointed.
"I have to go to my work and pick up my schedule and then I'm going to stop by AJ's house," Toni said and quickly gave Nick a kiss and ran out and left before he could say anything. After Toni picked up her schedule she drove by AJ's house and saw his car in the drive way so she pulled up to the front of his house. She got out of the car and went and rang his door bell a few times and after a couple of minutes AJ appeared at the door. He just stood there staring at her not saying a word. "May I come in?" Toni asked breaking the silence.
"Yeah, sure, why not," AJ said letting her through and closing the door behind her.
"Nice face," Toni said sarcastically as she sat down in a chair.
"Did you come here to make fun of me or lecture me because if you did then you can just leave," AJ said with an attitude.
"I came to talk to you and I would really appreciate it if you would knock the shit off with the attitude and start acting like the AJ I know and Kristen loves."
"Fine," AJ said as he sat down across from Toni. "Now what do you want to talk to me about?"
"AJ, you need to really chill out with Kristen. Give her some slack and don't yell at her for not telling you what is wrong."
"Why? You and Nick know and I'm the one dating her. I have a right to know."
"I agree but..."
"There are no but's Toni. Everyone agrees that I should know but yet no one will tell me. I'm tired of it. I don't like the fact that my girlfriend and all her friends are keeping something from me," AJ said interuppting her.
"It's not my place to tell you. Why can't you just understand that? If this whole thing was up to me you would have been the first to know but it's not. It's up to Kristen."
"Then why isn't she telling me?" AJ asked started to get aggrivated.
"Just hear me out okay. You need to start treating Kristen with the most sincerety when you talk to her on the phone and when she comes back for Christmas like you always do."
"I'm trying to but it's kind of difficult with this secret she's hiding."
"Well you're going to have to try harder because this secret she is hiding is making her want to leave you," Toni said with a straight face. AJ just stared at her for a second trying to figure out whether or not Toni was telling the truth.
"You're serious aren't you?" AJ asked after a couple of seconds as Toni nodded her head. "She can't do that, I love her too much," AJ said as his voice began to quaver.
"I know, I'm trying to talk some sense into her but it's not working. She refuses to believe what I have to say. TJ has tried talking to her too but..."
"TJ?" AJ asked surprised interuppting Toni. "Toni I want to know right now what the hell she is hiding. I don't want to hear this shit about it's her place to tell me and not your's either. I want to know now and I'm not going to let you leave here until you tell me," AJ demanded. Toni sat there for a couple of minutes with AJ staring at her as she thought. Finally she looked up at AJ and knew she had to tell him because otherwise him and Kristen would lose each other over misunderstandings.
"AJ..." Toni began. "Kristen is....." Toni said then stopped.
"Kristen is what?" Toni didn't say anything for another couple of seconds then spoke again.
"She's pregnant."
