Chapter 65

The next morning Toni woke up and went into the kitchen to find her mom sitting at the table eating breakfast. After she made herself something to eat she sat down across from her. "What was all the screaming and slamming doors about last night?" her mom asked.

"Sorry about that. Me and Kristen just got in a little argument about something."

"What would that something be?" Toni looked at her mom for a second trying to think of what to say. She knew she couldn't tell her about Kristen being pregnant because Kristen would never speak to her again.

"She's breaking up with AJ," she said after about a minute of silence.

"You shouldn't be yelling at her about that Toni. It's her decision if she wants to be with him or break up with him. You can't make someone stay with another person because you want them together."

"I'm not mad at her for breaking up with him, it's just the reason why she is that I don't approve of."

"What would that reason be?" Toni decided that she had to tell her mom what was wrong with Kristen since she wouldn't tell her own mom. When she opened her mouth to speak Kristen walked into the kitchen already fully dressed.

"Morning," Kristen said as she started making herself a cappucino.

"Good morning," Toni's mom said. Nothing else was said until a few minutes later Kristen ran out of the kitchen. They heard a bathroom door close then heard her throwing up. "Is she sick?"

"I guess you could say that," Toni said.

"What does that mean? What are you hiding for Kristen?"

"How do you know I'm hiding anything?"

"Because I know my daughter."

"Well, hopefully Kristen will know her's too," Toni said under her breath. Her mom looked at her weird and she sighed and decided that since Kristen wasn't in the room she could try and tell her again. "Kristen is breaking up with AJ because she's pregnant," she said.

"Is the baby not his?"

"Oh no, it's his alright."

"Then why is she breaking up with him?" her mom asked confused.

"She says that AJ won't want to have anything to do with her or the baby because he'll be so busy touring with the other guys. I think she would rather break her own heart than have AJ do it for her."

"Do you think AJ will break up with her for it?"

"No, I know he won't. He loves her too much. Kristen doesn't know a thing about being pregnant and neither do I. I don't know how to help her."

"Just be there for her. If you make her do the right thing no matter if it's against her will or not, you'll be helping her," Toni's mom finished saying when Kristen came out of the bathroom. She heard her cell phone ringing but didn't bother to answer it because she knew it was AJ. Toni heard the phone too so she got up and answered it.

"Toni?" AJ asked surprised to hear her voice. "Is Kristen there?" Toni went up to Kristen and went to hand her the phone but Kristen wouldn't take it.

"You are not going to ignore him Kristen," Toni said shoving the phone to her ear and walking away.

"Hey, AJ," Kristen said.

"Kristen what is going on?" AJ asked.

"What do you mean? Nothing is going on," Kristen said lying.

"Damn it Kristen don't lie to me! If nothing was wrong Toni wouldn't be there with you! Now what the hell is going on that you and Toni are keeping a secret from me!" AJ yelled.

"I can't tell you," Kristen said softly after a couple of seconds. Tears welled up in her eyes. Never before had she heard AJ raise is voice to her and never before had he ever been mad at her and it hurt her.

"You know if you don't want to tell me that is just great," AJ said sarcastically. "When you're in the mood to start talking to me then you call me because I sure won't," AJ said hanging up the phone. Kristen stared at the phone for a few seconds as the tears began falling down her cheek. She went into Toni's room and grabbed her coat then walked out of the house with Toni and her mom looking at her confused.

"You need to make her tell AJ and if she doesn't you'll have to," Toni's mom said after Kristen closed the front door. Toni just nodded her head in agreement.

Kristen didn't know where she was going to go all she knew was that she just needed to walk around and think about what was going on. No matter how much it hurt her when AJ yelled at she knew he had a right too. After about an hour or so of walking someone came up behind Kristen and grabbed her scaring the shit out of her. "TJ!" she yelled when she turned around and saw who it was. "Don't do that to me! You scared me half to death!"

"Sorry, didn't mean to," he said.

"What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be in Nashville with everyone else?"

"Yeah but Britney was getting on my nerves about how I was abandoning our friendship ever since you came along."

"She doesn't like me does she?"

"I don't think so. Your eyes are all red, what were you crying about?"

"I talked to AJ this morning."

"I'm sorry, did he break up with you over you being pregnant?"

"No, I didn't even tell him. He yelled at me though because he knew I was hiding something from him."

"Kristen, you can't hide this from him. He would want to know. I mean if got someone I loved pregnant I would be furious if she kept it from me. You need to tell him."

"I was thinking of just breaking up with him," Kristen said softly.

"No, I won't let you do that. Listen, Christmas is in a few weeks so you'll be going back to Florida. Hold out till then and when you get there and see him and how much you love him then decide what you're going to do. Promise me that please. Please," TJ said again after Kristen didn't say anything.

"Alright, I promise."

"Thank you. I'm starving, what do you say we get some pizza or something?"

"Sounds great," Kristen said as TJ wrapped his arm around her as a friendly gesture as they walked through town.
