Chapter 50
"Kristen wake up," AJ said shaking Kristen lightly as the plane landed. Kristen opened her eyes and looked at AJ. "We're here."
"I love you for this," Kristen said smiling.
"I know you do." They got off the plane and AJ went and got a rental car to drive to Kristen's parent's house. About an hour and a half later they pulled up in front of her house where there were a bunch of cars already parked. "Are you're parent's having a party or something?" AJ asked confused.
"I don't know. Come on let's go inside." They walked up to the door and Kristen found the door unlocked so she just went inside to see her parents, two of her sisters, her niece, and grandparents.
"Kristen!" Kristen's niece, Angel, screamed running up to her and hugging her almost knocking her over. Kristen picked her up and held her on her hip. Kristen noticed that Angel was staring at AJ and then she whispered in Kristen's ear "It's AJ," really softly.
"I know aren't you going to say hi to him?" Kristen asked. Angel shook her head no shyly. Kristen looked at AJ and saw that he felt really awkward cause everyone's eyes were on him and no one said a word to them since they walked in the door. She set Angel on the ground and took AJ by the hand and led him into the living room. Kristen went around and gave all her family members a hug and then introduced AJ to them.
"Do you think you have enough tattoos?" Kristen's grandpa asked AJ. AJ didn't know what to say. He just felt really uncomfortable.
"Grandpa!" Kristen yelled at him.
"I was just asking the boy a question. Is this your new boyfriend?"
"Yes, he is and please don't give him a hard time like you usually do."
"You mean to tell me that you actually snagged yourself a Backstreet Boy?" her sister Julie asked rudely. Kristen just wanted to scream at her family for the way they were acting.
"Julie you have no room to talk. Just take a look atbany of your boyfriends. AJ's a far better guy than anyone you dated," Kristen's mom said getting up and giving both Kristen and AJ a hug. "I missed you."
"I missed you too, mom."
"Well, why didn't you tell us that two were coming? I could have had the house cleaned up."
"The house looks fine. Besides, we wanted to surprise you."
"Well, you certainly did surprise us," Julie said glaring at AJ. "But I think we need to be leaving now. Let's go Angel."
"Gramma can I spend the night with Kristen?" Angel asked Kristen's mom.
"No, now let's go," Julie said picking her daughter up and walking out of the house. A few minutes later her grandparents left along with her other sister.
"AJ, I'll show you where you can stay," Kristen's mom said going downstairs. Before AJ could go down the stairs Kristen's dad pulled him to the side.
"I have a shot gun next to my bed and if I find you wandering upstairs to my daughter's room I won't hesitate to use it," he said. AJ looked at him in shock.
"Dad! Leave him alone! If we wanted to do anything we would have before we came here," Kristen said pulling AJ downstairs to the guest bedroom. They went in the room where Kristen's mom was putting new sheets on the bed for AJ to sleep in.
"Since you two are both in here I will tell you at the same time. I don't want you two having sex in this house," her mom said.
"Mom!" Kristen said shocked.
"I'm serious Kristen. I don't want my little girl doing anything. You're too young. So don't have sex until you two are married." Kristen grabbed her mother's arm and pulled her out of the room to talk to her away from AJ.
"I thought you said that Nick and AJ were no good and now you're talking about us getting married?" she asked confused.
"He is no good. But I'm not going to hurt his feelings like everyone else already has. Finish making the bed for me. I'm tired so I'll see you two in the morning and I expect to see you sleeping in your own bed upstairs," her mom said walking away. Kristen went back in the room and found AJ laying on the already made bed just staring at the ceiling. Kristen went and sat down next to him.
"Your family hates me," he said sitting up looking at her. "They are judging me by the way I look on the outside. They think that since I have a lot of tattoos that I'm nothing but trouble," AJ said worriedly sitting up.
"I know and I apologize but I don't care what they think. I care what I think and I like the way you are."
"I do care what they think though. Your family is important to me just like you are."
"Just give them time to realize the real you."
"Well, your mom is pretty nice as she always has been. That was funny her telling you she didn't want you to have sex until you were married. Haven't you already though?"
"Yeah, once. She doesn't know about it and I would like to keep it that way or she'll flip. Sometimes I wish I could take that one night back."
"How old were you?"
"It was a week before my eighteenth birthday."
"See, that's not so bad. It wasn't a mistake. Now me on the other hand I was sixteen. Trying to be all that around my buds. I was a mistake for doing that to please other people. You did it for you."
"You make me sick," Kristen said laughing at him.
"Why?"
"Because you always know what to say. That's why I love you," Kristen said kissing him. She separated from him then picked up the phone. "I have to call Toni to tell her we made it here okay."
"You're cheating!" Toni yelled at Nick while they were playing a playstation game.
"How can I be cheating on a video game?" Nick asked questioningly.
"I'm loosing aren't I?"
"That's because I'm better than you."
"Oh yeah right. You only wish," Toni said getting up and turning the game off. She went and sat down on Nick's lap and looked at him. "When are you going to introduce me to your family?"
"What brings that up?"
"Well, I was just curious since AJ flew him and her to Wyoming so he could meet her family. I want to meet yours. If my family lived here you would have met them a long time ago. Are you embarrassed to show me to them or something?"
"No, Toni, nothing like that."
"Then what is it Nick?"
"I don't know. But how about I take you over there tomorrow then."
"Well, no. You obviously don't want me to meet them. I don't want you to take me over there to please me. I want you to because you want to show me off or something." Just then the phone rang and Toni answered it. "Hey girl! How's it going?" she asked Kristen.
"Okay. My family gave AJ a hard time and my dad threatened to kill him already but otherwise pretty good."
"Dang, I'm sorry to hear that. But you need to hurry up and get back here. I miss having a room mate."
"I've only been gone for about seven hours and I know Nick's been over there the whole time so how could you miss me?"
"Nick's being mean. He cheats playing video games." Nick glared at Toni and took the phone away from her.
"Hey Kristen," he said.
"Hi, Nick. Stop being mean to my twin or I'll have to hurt you on Monday when I get back home."
"That would be something I would like to see try and happen."
"What you think I can't do it?"
"No, I know you can't. You're too short."
"Damn Toni's right. You are being mean," Kristen said sarcastically.
"Yeah I know I'm just a mean ass. Is AJ around I need to talk to him for a second."
"Here, Nick wants to talk with you," Kristen said handing him the phone.
"Hey what's going on?" AJ asked. Nick got up and walked into the other room so Toni couldn't hear his side of the conversation.
"Why do you automatically assume something is going on?"
"Well, is there?"
"Yeah."
"Then what do you need my advice on now?"
"I need to please Toni."
"Okay, now I'm confused. I would assume that you please her all the time," AJ said with humor in his voice.
"I'm not talking sex wise. I'm serious. She wants to meet my family. She assumes that I'm embarrassed by her and don't want to introduce her to them."
"Then why don't you just introduce them?"
"Because I said I would and she said she didn't want me to do it to please her."
"You said you wanted to please her though."
"I know but I don't understand her or any other girl."
"You're supposed to please her when she doesn't know. Take her out to lunch and to a movie or something tomorrow and then just drive by your parents house and stop by. I know you're afraid your parents won't like her because this is the way you always get. But trust me. Toni is a beautiful, sweet, caring, and everything that they want in a girl for their little baby boy."
"Oh please," Nick said sarcastically.
"Thanks for the advice though Bone," Nick said hanging up the phone.
"What was that about?" Toni asked when Nick went back into the living room.
"Nothing. I better get home. It's getting late. What time do you have to work tomorrow?
"Four, why?"
"I'm going to take you out tomorrow so be ready by noon," Nick said giving Toni a kiss and walking out the door.
"Nick having problems with Toni?" Kristen asked when AJ hung up the phone.
"How'd you guess?"
"He had that tone in his voice. I could tell. I better get upstairs before my mom freaks out that I'm down here with you so long. I'm right above your head if you need me," Kristen said giving AJ a kiss.
"I think I'll just see you in the morning after you're up so your dad doesn't kill me."
"Don't take it so personally. See you tomorrow," Kristen said heading upstairs. She opened her door to see her room exactly how she left it. She had giant posters of BSB all over her ceiling and on her walls, door, and closet doors. On one wall she had about thirty magazines hanging on the wall. One wall had a bunch of necklaces, concert tickets, tour passes, and anything and everything hanging up. She looked at her shelves that had tons of notebooks filled out posters of her favorite boys. She couldn't help but smile about the fact she used to worship them. Now she was in love with the Backstreet Boy would had always scared her the most. 'I judged him so wrong then,' she thought to herself as she pulled a BSB t-shirt out of her closet that only had her BSB t-shirts in since she left them at home when she moved and put it on and crawled into bed falling fast asleep.
