Chapter 3~ He's Cute

"Perfect! Cassie, that was great," Fatima, my new choreographer, said, clapping her hands. I let go of my leg (which I was holding in a kick position above my head) and wiped the hair out of my face. I turned around and gave fives to my dancers, and we all went to get some water. "Hey, Cassie. That was great," AJ said, walking up to me. I smiled. "Thanks! I'm glad we finally got it," I said, gulping down my water. "Okay, everyone. We're going to run through the whole show now, starting with Cassie," Fatima yelled. My dancers and I gathered on the stage and stood in our starting positions. The music started and we began dancing. After four songs, I was ready for a break, and thank God it was the guys' turn to run through their dances. Two hours later we were finally done. "Congratulations, Cassie," Nick said, coming up beside me. "Thanks! For what?" I asked. He lauhged and patted my shoulder. "For making it through your first rehersal! There's a lot of hard work ahead of you, but I think you'll do great," he said. "Thanks! I was born to do this. It's what I love. I know it'll be so much fun," I said, picking up my bag. "Hey, Cassie! Come on, girl! We gotta go!" Marianne yelled to me from the door. She had come by to pick me up because I had to get to the studio and finish mixing the last song. "Okay! Well, I guess I will see you tomorrow," I said, smiling at Nick. "Okay. Bye!" he said. I told all the other guys good bye and left. _____________________________________________________________________________ "Girl, you were talking to NICK CARTER!" Marianne screeched as we pulled into the studio parking garage. "But Marianne, that doesn't mean he LIKES me!" I said, unbuckling my seatbelt. "He has to! Of every single person in that studio, he chose YOU to talk to!" she said, pulling into a space. We both got out and I got my bag out of the trunk. "I would have rather talked to Brian," I said under my breath, walking into the building. "Ohh!! So, we have our eyes on Mr. Brian Littrell, huh?" Marianne said in a teasing voice. "No, I mean, he's nice and everything, and I love his accent," I said, walking up the stairs to the studio floor. I rang the buzzer outside the door and the receptionist asked for my name and why I was there. "This is Cassie Sands, Charles Jacobs is expecting me for a mixing session," I said. The door buzzed and unlocked, and I walked in. "He's in Studio C today," the receptionist told me. "Thanks," I said. Marianne and I walked down the corridor to Studio C and quietly walked in. Britney Spears was in the booth, recording a mix for 'Crazy.' We were in the soundproof part of the studio, so Marianne kept questioning me. "So, have you talked to Brian at all?" she asked. "Yeah, a little. I mean, today was my first day with them, and we were working really hard," I said, finding a chair to sit in. "I bet he looked really good dancing," Marianne said, smiling. "I bet Nick looked even better!" she sighed. I laughed. "Hey!" Britney said, coming into the room. "Hi! How's it going?" I asked, getting up and hugging her. I met Britney in Holland about seven months ago and we've become really good friends. "It's okay. They're having me do a mix of 'Crazy' for a movie, and I have to leave in," she said, glancing at the clock, "holy shit, ten minutes! To get to the airport because i'm shooting the video in LA for the next three days," she said. "What are you all doing?" she asked. "I'm mixing 'Only For You' and hopefully we're going to work on our interlude," I said, nodding towards Marianne. "Cool. So any new gossip we need to catch up on?" she asked smiling. She bent over and reached under a mixing board for her bag. "Yeah. Cassie's got the hots her Brian Littrell," Marianne said. "Marianne!" I said, blushing. "Aww! That's so sweet!" Britney said. "Well, he's taken, so it doesn't matter," I said, pretending to be mesmerized my my bracelets. "That's not what I heard!" Britney said, sitting down. "What do you mean?" I asked, immediately forgetting about my bracelets. "Well, Justin and I were out the other night and we saw AJ and Amanda. I happened to ask how Brian was and AJ told me, quote, 'he's a lot better now that Leighanne's gone,'" she told me. "Are you serious?!?!" I shrieked. She nodded and I hugged her. Then one of her bodyguards came into the studio. "Britney, we need to go," he said. "Okay, Q. Well, you have to call me when Brian asks you out," Britney said, hugging me. I laughed. "I will," I said doubtfully. Britney hugged Marianne and walked to the door. "He's cute, Cass. And if he doesn;t come to his senses soon, I'll have to have a little talk with him and MAKE him ask you out!" she said. I smiled and nodded. "Bye, chicas!" Britney said, closing the door behind her. "Yeah, he is kinda cute," I said, wrinkling my nose. Marianne laughed and we went into the booth.
