“Hmm…I dunno, Kevvy was talking about going out to see a movie or something.” Stephanie shrugged picking up a light pink fitting T-shirt that had ‘Gap’ written across the chest. Examining it she held it up against herself, then shook her head and held it up to Theresa. “Why? What are you doing?”
“Probably lay around the house with A.J or something. Tomorrow he’s suppose to make dinner for me.” Theresa stated flatly as she took the shirt from Stephanie and placed it in her small carrying crate.
“You know what? You and A.J are just so cute together. I bet he treats you like a queen.” Stephanie said looking at Theresa with a lopsided grin then turned and continued scanning through the variety of belts along with Theresa.
‘If you only knew.’ Theresa thought as she laughed bitterly in her mind. “Yeah, he does sometimes.” She lied taking a black leather belt into her hands.
“Kevin is such a sweetie to me. Today when I told him I was going shopping with you and he just handed me his credit card and said buy what you want.” Stephanie giggled as they headed for the front desk to buy whatever items they had collected while they made small chit chat.
“Isn’t that nice.” Theresa rolled her eyes. Oh how much she wished A.J was like that…well he was when he wanted to be…well whenever they weren’t fighting. He always spent money on her the first year when they started dating but after that things went down hill and they started arguing about the smallest things.
“That’ll be $45.63.” The cashiers’ voice said bringing her out of her thoughts.
“Oh here.” Theresa smiled softly handing the tall brunette her yes ‘HER’ credit card.
“Thank you, have a nice day.” The lady said politely as Theresa and Stephanie walked out of the store with their purchased items in hand.
“This is fun. It’s been so long Theresa since we’ve ever had girl talk. You know?” Stephanie giggled as she linked her arm with Theresa and headed for the party store that they often shopped at ‘Gadzooks’.
-With A.J-
Walking up the staircase slowly A.J headed for his home theater. What happened to him? Why did he treat the women he loved so much that way? ‘She never did anything.’ A.J thought quietly to himself as he scanned through his many varieties of DVD movies, then his eyes landed on one in particular. The heading read, ‘Theresa and A.J’. Taking the small CD holder like box and took out the CD and placed it in the DVD player. Using his remote, A.J pushed play and the whole room went dark and Theresa appeared on the screen.
“Baby, did you miss me?” A.J’s voice raspy said, obviously the one holding the camera.
“Of course.” Theresa smiled up at him from her spot in the middle of the yard playing with their two Shiatsu pups, Panda and Bear.
“How much did you miss me?” His voice asked again as he got closer to her. Theresa stood with one of the black and white puppies in her hand as she walked closer to the camera.
“A whole lot. Even Panda knows. Don’t you.” She held up the puppy in front of her face and started acting like Panda was talking. “I missed my daddy too!”
A.J laughed a little as he scooted down a little more into his seat and finished watching.
“God your beautiful, you know that?” A.J chuckled moving the camera up and down Theresa’s slim body that was clad in a pair of blue jeans and black tank top that had a colorful flower on the chest of it.
“A.J! Don’t say that.” Theresa blushed turning around and walking away from him.
“Oh and you have a nice butt to.” A.J chuckled as the camera zoomed in on her ass.
“A.J! Stop it!” Theresa giggled turning back around after placing Panda back on the ground with Bear.
“I love you.” His voice sang.
“No…I heart you.” Theresa giggled as she drew a heart in the middle of her chest.
“Your silly you know that?” A.J asked.
“Only when I’m with you.” Theresa winked coming towards him and taking the camera from him. “Hi!” She waved as she pointed the camera to herself. “Hey J, come here.”
“What?” A.J asked walking towards her. Theresa placed her hand on his chin and pulled his face towards hers and kissed his lips lightly.
“See, lookie…now we have us kissing on film.” Theresa giggled as she placed a small peck on the camera lens. A.J came close to her and wrapped his arms around her waist and whispered something in her ear. Theresa just giggled and looked at the camera and grinned widely, “We’ll be back.” With that the screen went fuzzy when she turned off the camera.
Sighing A.J turned off the movie and sat back into his seat. Resting his elbows on his knees and his head in his hands A.J began to feel the tears trickle down his cheeks as he let out a loud sob. “Why!!??” He cried. “Why did I have to change? Why do I do this to her?” His cries were so loud that he didn’t notice that his mother had entered the room.
“Alex?” Denise asked as she headed towards her son.
“Mom!?” A.J sobbed as she sat next to him.
“Oh sweetie what’s the matter?” She questioned as she enveloped her son in a warm embrace.
“Mom, I’m losing her. I can’t lose her mom.” A.J cried wiping his eyes with the back of his hand.
“Baby, why? Why are you losing her?” Denise wondered oblivious to what her son had done to Theresa.
“Were…I…I don’t want to say.” A.J shook his head looking down at his hands.
“Why not?” She asked rubbing her back in circular motion.
“Because I cant…if I told you you’d look down at me.” A.J stated firmly standing from his seat. “I just don’t want to lose Theresa.”
“You’re not honey.” Denise comforted watching A.J pace back and forth.
“Yes I will mom! I treat her like shit!” A.J said leaving the room.
“Oh sweetie, please just tell me.” Denise mumbled as she followed behind him.
-At the mall-
“I had so much fun, Resa.” Stephanie smiled as Theresa took a bite of her pizza.
“Yeah, what time is it anyway?” Theresa asked while wiping off some of the pizza sauce that ended on her chin.
Stephanie looked at her watch, “5:33.” Stephanie answered.
“Woah it’s getting kind of late, I think we should be getting home.” Theresa sighed as Stephanie took a sip of her coke.
“Yeah, Kevy probably thinks I got mobbed by some fans.” Stephanie giggled lightly as the two began to load their bags of things that they had purchased that day.
“Probably.” Theresa laughed. Heading out of the mall Theresa and Stephanie headed towards Stephanie’s black 2000 Eclipse and loaded their bags into the trunk.
“You know what Theresa, I had a lot of fun today.” Stephanie said as she drove out of the parking lot.
“Yeah, and we didn’t even get noticed.” Theresa giggled taking off her black cap causing her hair to fall out.
“Oh I know.” Stephanie nodded as they pulled up to a red light. Turning to look at her friend she noticed that Theresa was desperately trying to cover something up on the side of her cheek. “Hey Theresa!?” Turning to look at Stephanie, Theresa quickly covered the bruise before she could see it. “Move your hand Theresa.” Stephanie demanded.
“Steph, its nothing some of my mascara smudged onto my cheek.” Theresa lied.
“Move you hand!” Stephanie demanded moving her friend’s hand. Gasping at what she saw, Stephanie stared at Theresa as if in horror. “How did that happen?”
“Its nothing, I just bumped into the wall last night when I was going to go get something to drink.” Theresa lied again looking away as tears welled into her eyes. She hated lying to her best friend, she wanted to tell Stephanie about what A.J done, but couldn’t she was afraid of what A.J would do if anyone found out.
“Theresa, are you lying?” Stephanie asked as she put the car in gear and started down the road.
“No…yes.” Theresa cried. Stephanie pulled the car onto the side of the road pulled it into park.
“What the fuck! Theresa, what happen?” Stephanie demanded to know looking straight into Theresa’s green eyes that were full of fear.
