Reach Out
Do you know them, the lonely ones?
They drift day by day,
always seeking, never finding
a true friend, someone to care,
to love them, to help them.
They do not know Him who promised:
"Never
will I leave you; never will I forsake you"
Hebrews 13:5
Have you seen them, the homeless ones?
They sleep in doorways and park benches
in rags against the cold.
Their shopping bags spill out their all.
They search in refuse for food.
They have not known Him who said:
"I
am the bread of life"...John 6:35
Have you heard them, the little children?
They are abused, neglected,
abandoned, bewildered,
crying in the night
of their hopelessness.
They never heard His Word:
"Let
the little children come to me"..Matt. 19:14
Have you touched them, the hurt and
helpless ones?
They scream and sob
in crippling pain of disease,
in binding chains of drugs and alcohol,
wandering dazed and confused.
They have never felt His healing touch
or heard Him say:
"Do
you want to get well?"..John 5:6
Reach out to them. Love them.
Let them know you care.
Tell them Christ cares,
and loves, and heals,
and brings deliverance.
