“Nick…”
“Theresa, listen, I’ve gotta go get ready for the show I don’t need to be all upset. I’ll see you in the room or after…whatever.” With that Nick left me standing there in awe. How could he say all of that? He was right there when Brian had asked me and didn’t even say anything.
Shaking my head to clear my thoughts I went to where I put my bag and swung it over my shoulder and headed back into the backstage area to find Brian. Walking down the busy hallways of the backstage area, I finally found him being fitted for his stage costume.
“Brian, there you are.” I breathed walking towards him quickly.
“Yeah, I’m right here.” Brian chuckled looking at me.
“Ok, I need to tell you that um…”
“That you’ve canceled our plans, right?” Brian cut me off, catching me so off guard. Seeing the hurt in his eyes after he said that, I realized I couldn’t tell him.
“Um…no, I just came to wish you luck.” I lied; I defiantly had to patch things up with Nick before I went out with Brian.
“Thanks Theresa.” Brian smiled at me, his blue eyes bright.
“Anytime. Hey have you seen Nick?” I asked, for a minute there, I could have sworn I seen disappointment flash across his eyes, but why?
“Over there.” He pointed to where Nick was getting his hair and make up done.
“Thanks.” I said leaving him and walking towards Nick. “Nick?” I whispered.
“What?” Nick’s voice was still full of anger.
“Baby, can I talk to you?” I questioned afraid that he’d blow up again.
“Talk.” Was all he said.
“Um…ok…listen, I’m sorry if you think that I am in any way spending more time with Brian than you. I’m not trying to, it’s just that I haven’t seen Brian since Christmas and I missed him. I want you to understand that Bri is my best friend, please. And that I want to spend time with him, ok?” I explained. When I was finished telling Nick that, there was silence between us and I knew he was thinking over what I just said.
“I understand Theresa, but sometimes I want to spend time with you. My girlfriend.” Nick stated slowly.
“I know, but I promised Bri last night that I’d go out with him tonight because we didn’t get a chance last night.” I said.
More silence.
“What am I suppose to say Theresa?” Nick sighed.
“That you don’t mind I spend tonight out with Bri, as long as I’m back in your arms by midnight.” I grinned. I could tell he wanted to smile, but knowing Nick he didn’t want to let his ego drop.
“Fine, what you said.” Nick said his face slightly cracking into a smile.
“Thank you baby.” With that I kissed his cheek and left the room so I wouldn’t be in anybody’s way.
-After the concert-
“Hey Theresa!” Brian called chasing towards me.
“Yeah?” I smiled.
“What are we doing tonight??” Brian asked me.
“Dunno, how about…um…we could just rent a movie and hang out.” I suggested.
“Sounds cool to me.” Brian smiled draping an arm around my shoulders as we headed for the van to take us back to the hotel.
“Cool.” I nodded looking around trying to find Nick. “Where’s Nick?”
“He had a phone call from his mom.” Brian replied looking at me.
“Ok.” I said as I felt myself being pulled from Brian’s grasp. Turning my head to see whom, I looked straight into a pair of ocean blue eyes.
“Hey babe. Mom said hi.” Nick whispered into my ear slightly nibbling on it.
“Hmm, tell her I said hi back.” I smiled as his lips moved to my neck. “Your trying to seduce me ain’t you??” I joked. Nick’s head jerked up with the cutest innocent look.
“Me? Nah!” Nick’s voice was full of sarcasm.
“Ha, ha, yes you were.” I giggled as his arms wrapped tighter around me. “What time shall I be back??”
“Um…9 o’clock. Just kidding. Um…doesn’t matter but please if you’re going to stay the night, call ok.” Nick smirked as we waited for our turn to enter the van.
“Ok daddy.” I joked kissing his lips sweetly then climbing in the van sitting next to Brian.
-At the hotel-
Jumping up and down on Brian’s bed, I waited for Brian to get off the phone from checking his messages at the front desk.
“Jen’s not coming till tomorrow.” Brian sighed putting the phone back into the cradle.
“Why?” I asked jumping off the bed causing a ‘thump’ then sitting next to him on the bed.
“Cause her flight got delayed, something about the weather.” Brian smiled. “At least she’ll be here tomorrow.”
“Correct.” I nodded draping an arm around his shoulders. “So prince charming, what shall we do first?”
“Hmmm…I was thinking we watch something on Paper-view.” Brian replied.
“Coolies.” I smiled doing a backwards roll into my spot. “What’s on it anyway?”
“Let’s see…” Brian trailed off as he grabbed the movie listing from the nightstand next to the hotel bed. “We’ve got wrestling, romance, comedy, action and stupid movies.” Brian said looking at me, knowing exactly what I was going to say. “Wrestling it is.”
“Wahoo!!” I cheered moving my arms around in a victory like dance. “Gotta see the Rock kick some ass!!” Brian just looked at me and rolled his eyes.
“Yeah right! You know Triple H is going to take the Rock down.” Brian chuckled.
“Whatever Littrell.” I rolled my eyes pushing him lightly.
“Well he will, the Rock sucks.” Brian smirked. “Ha! I doubt it.” I said crossing my arms and leaning against the headboard as the program started to come on. “Oh hell yeah, there’s my man!” I hollered as the Rock started walking down the walkway to the ring, bear-chested. I was practically drooling.
“Yeah right, that boy…” Brian was cut off with my pillow hitting him in the face.
“You better hush it boy.” I warned sitting on him and tickling him.
“AHH!! Theresa stop!!” Brian screamed his face turning red, and his eyes watering.
“No, not until you say the Rock is better than Triple H.” I demanded.
“Fine, Triple H sucks.” Brian gave in. I stopped and fixed my Kentucky Wildcats sweatshirt as I got back in my seat.
“Better.” I smiled running my hands through my blond hair. “You know what?” I asked as I watched The Rock flex his muscles.
“Huh?” Brian muttered his eyes still glued to Ms. Kitty’s revealing pink outfit.
“The Rock is as old as Kevin. I think.” I chuckled lightly crossing my arms over my stomach as I leaned back against the headboard.
“Yeah, and see neither of them look old.” Brian smirked.
“And their both sexy.” I added winking at Brian when he glanced at me rolling his eyes.
“Ok miss ‘I-have-a-crush-on-Kevin’.” Brian smirked.
“Um…no. Remember I told you I always had a crush on A.J, I just thought Kevin was sexy. I’ve always thought that.” I giggled lightly smacking him.
“Yeah I’d believe that. Every since we were younger you’ve always been trying to impress Kevin, or still a glance here or there at his ass.” Brian stated.
“Hey! I couldn’t help it!” I defended. “I was 15! I was in my hormone stage.”
“Yeah, exactly.” Brian chuckled nudging me with his elbow. “So anyway, if you have a crush on A.J, and you think Kevin’s sexy…where does Nick come in?”
I chuckled lightly to myself then replied cockily, “I love Nick. Duh!”
“Oh that’s right, you ‘love’ him.” Brian smirked.
“That’s right I love him so yeah!” I replied sticking my tongue out at him. “Well what about you? You’ve always had a crush on Kevin’s girlfriend.”
“I do not!” Brian protested narrowing his eyes on me.
“Oh yes you do!” I teased. “Because I remember you were 16 and as soon as you saw Stephanie walk into your mom’s house you went gaga for her.”
“Ok, whatever.” Brian stated.
“Well you did, and you still do!” I smiled winking at him. “I’ve seen you checking out her ass every now and again.”
“Hey, I don’t look at her ass as much as you look at Kevin’s.” Brian blurted out.
“Ah ha, gotchya!” I laughed poking my finger at his nose. “Ok, so anyway, did you have a good birthday?”
“Yeah. And again Theresa, thanks for those tickets.” Brian said sweetly taking my hand in his and squeezing it lightly. “I still can’t believe you got me those.”
“Well believe it, I wanted to get you something special so I just got you that. And I’m REALLY glad that you liked them.” I said kissing his cheek then crawling off the bed while letting go of his hand. “I better be getting back to Nick, it’s late.”
“Um…ok.” Brian nodded.
“I’ll be down here to wake you up at 8 so we can go get Jennifer, ok?” I informed slipping on my fuzzy leopard print slippers.
“Ok.” Brian nodded again turning over onto his side. “Goodnight Trease.”
“Goodnight Bri.” I waved opening the door then walking out slowly shutting it behind myself.
-The next day-
Slowly opening my eyes I quickly closed them then turned over onto my stomach.
“Come on baby, get up.” I heard Nick call from next to me as he rolled over onto his side placing an arm around my waist and nuzzling my neck.
“I don’t wanna.” I mumbled.
“I don’t either. But we gotta.” Nick sighed pulling from me.
“Why?” I wined as I felt him climb from the bed.
“Because we have to get going for L.A.” Nick stated.
“Let me guess plane, right?” I asked rolling over then sitting up.
“Yep.” Nick nodded as he began to load up his Nitendo 64.
“Damn, I hate those things.” I sighed climbing out of bed and heading for the bathroom to wash my face and use the bathroom. “Nicky!” I called when I was done.
“Huh?” Nick called back as I walked out of the bathroom.
“Guess who’ll be here in an hour?” I smiled taking off my white tank and replacing it with a bra and hot pink hoodie that I had pulled from my suitcase.
“Who babe?” Nick asked looking up at me.
“Jennifer. I can’t wait.” I grinned pulling on my jeans then placed my tank top into my dirty close bag.
“I thought she was coming in yesterday?” Nick questioned.
“She was…” I trailed off sitting on the bed and pulling on some socks. “But her flight got canceled or something.”
“Oh I see. She’s gonna have a lot of fun though. Because she’s flying in here, then she’s gonna have to turn around and hop right back on another plane.” Nick chuckled. I just rolled my eyes at my boyfriend’s stupidity, but hey, what could I say? That’s what made him Nick.
