It's Proven, Nick's an Idiot!

3 Months later: I haven’t seen this mystery guy in about 2 months. Maybe it was just a coincidence I saw him those couple of times. I’m at the mall right now with some people I’ve met. I have no clue what’s going on at the house with Kayla.

At the house across the street:

Brian and AJ were lounging around Nick’s house when, Brian looked out the window. His eyes caught a girl across the street. “Nick, when did the house across the street get bought?”

“It did? When?”

AJ laughed at his friend. “Nick, maybe since we where out of town two months you just didn’t know.”

“Yeah! See Brian they could have just moved in!”

“Yeah, yeah, save it for the judge.”

A grin spread across AJ’s face. “I have an idea. Why don’t we go meet this new neighbor of yours, Nick? I mean, at least that one lady is home, and we have nothing else to do.”

“Okay, sure.” Brian and Nick said simultaneously. They simply just walked out of the house and right over to the lady who was playing with her dog. “Good Afternoon miss.”

“Oh, hi!” Kayla looked up at the strangers with a smile.

“I’m Brian, and this is AJ and Nick.” Kayla shook Brian’s hand and he pulled her up to her feet in the process. She greeted the other two with bright smiles also.

“So, how long have you been living here?” AJ tried to bring up conversation.

“About four months why?” AJ all of a sudden started to cough while Brian’s eyes went wide. Nick just stood there not realizing much. AJ smacked Nick across the back of his head.

“Oops…” Nick answered as AJ hit him a second time.

“You idiot! She has been living here for 4 months, meaning she moved in at our last break! You live right across the street, couldn’t you see the sold sign?” Kayla just stood there laughing at AJ yelling at Nick.

“Hey AJ, don’t rule the boy out. It’s not a problem. So what if he didn’t notice, it’s not the end of the world. It just probably never crossed his mind.”

Nick whispered loudly to Brian. “I like this girl,” Making Kayla blush a little. “Who else lives here?”

“My 16 year old cousin, Zoey. She’s at the mall right now though.”

“Oh, cool. Well here’s my card, call me later in the week if you want to get together.” Nick handed her the card and the three guys departed from Kayla’s front yard.
