Getting Ready
They pulled up Julie’s long driveway and Nick insisted on taking all the bags in. Julie didn’t mind one bit of this generous way Nick was acting. She hoped it would last, but that was 95% doubtful in her mind.
Once Nick brought everything up to her room she found her dress and ushered him out. “Are you dressed yet?” Nick yelled from outside her door.
“Yeah.” Julie replied putting on her strap heals.
“Can you please unlock the door so I could see you?”
“No.” She went over to the vanity and fixed up her make up a little. “Nick you go home, change and wait in my living room. I’ll be down in five minutes.
“Okay fine.” Nick raced out of the house and was back in 2 minutes flat. “Doll Face get your butt down here now or I’m leavin’ without ya!” Nick yelled as he plopped down on the living room couch. Julie didn’t have to ever worry about her parents knowing where she was and when because they moved to California a year ago and left her to live on her own. It wasn’t a problem though because the house was paid off and they sent check to her every month to help with the bills.
Julie, quiet as a mouse, walked down the stairs and to the living room entrance without Nick noticing. (both carpeted duh) “Julie, that’s it I’m leaving without you! You are just too slow!” Nick turned around and jumped as his eyes went wide. She just stood there grinning and saying hello with a wave of the hand. “How long were you there Doll Face? Cuz if you were there long I’d have to punish you.” Nick walked towards her and she jetted. She ran pretty fast out the door and down the steps considering her circumstances of 2” high heals. Nick chased after her in the progress of turning off the lights in the hallway and shutting the front door. Julie threw her purse in the Prowler but still ran all through the yard. After 5 minutes of Julie dodging Nick’s arms she stopped running and leaned against the car. “Ready?” Nick asked out of breath. Still gulping up the oxygen to her lungs, Julie smiled and got in the car.
They had so much fun at Brian’s get together. Nick and Julie, best friends forever. No matter what age they will always be like two small children that have no other care in the world besides thoughts of happiness with their best friend.
