Unexpecting Guests

Angela came home to find Melanie in the shower. When she went to knock on the bathroom door it swung open and an anger girl zoomed past. When she turned around she saw Melanie with her hair up in a ponytail and a hat on over it. Angela wanted to know if she had succeeded in ruining Melanie’s innocent look. “Hey Mel wait! I want to talk to you!”

“Screw you! You little...” Melanie slammed the front door hard enough to make the walls shake before Angela could hear her finish the comment.

“Whatever.” Angela went down the stairs to look for Brett. “Great he’s not home. Just great! The boy is supposed to support us and he’s not even home to let me borrow money for food.” Angela went up to Brett’s room and looked for his stash of money. She took a 20 and put a note in it saying IOU 20- Angela. She walked over to the phone and reached to pick it up. Right before she picked it up it rang. After jumping back from the sudden noise, she picked it up. “Hello?”

“Angel?” Angela knew that voice, she knew it very well and a smile spread on her face the moment she heard it.

“Chad! Oh my God, I haven’t talked to you in a month! This is surprising! I’ve missed you!”

“Yeah well me and Quentin have missed you and Mel so much! In fact we both are taking a weekend vacation to see you two!”

“What? That’s extremely amazing! When you two coming?"

“Well that’s the thing, we are already here.”

“Huh?”

“Yeah we are at the airport.”

“Oh man that’s great news! Well what are you waiting for? Come and get your butts in the hotel and come on over.”

“That’s another thing babe, we’ve got a problem.”

“Oh?”

“Yeah, the hotel had to cancel our reservations because someone more important showed up and the rent-o-car place is currently closed.”

“Well that certainly not good.”

“Yeah I know. Hey, can Quin and me stay at your place for the weekend? And could you possibly pick us up because the taxies have all been taken.”

“Well yeah sure. Brett and Mel won’t mind I don’t think. I mean Mel and Quin were the best of friends, she’ll want you to stay!”

“Cool that’s settled. Now could you please, please, please pick us up? We’ll wait for you outside so all ya gotta do is drive up.”

“Yeah, yeah Chad I’ll be there.”

“Bye sweets.”

“Yeah Bye Chad.” She heard a click and put the phone down. She quickly made a call to the KFC and ordered take out for herself and her two new guests.

Angela pulled up to the airport in her black firebird. Angela stepped out of the car slightly and yelled to Chad and Quin over the roof of the car. They shoved their stuff in the trunk and gave Angela a quick hug. Angela picked up the KFC and drove back to the big place called home. Luckily there was a fourth bedroom in the house with two twin beds in it. (Who’d ever thought a 21 year old bachelor would have a huge mansion type house with 5 beds?)

After they finished their food and were all comfy and relaxing, Angela decided that she wanted to rub her new boy, Nick, in Chad’s face. So she invited Nick and of course Brian to come over to visit. Brian is usually always associated with Nick and she so why forget about him. Once Brian and Nick shook hands and sat down in the living room, the words that everyone had thought about at least once already was, “Where’s Mel off to?”

“Bri, I don’t know. Right when I got home she stormed out of the place.”

“Well, I can understand that I guess.”

“Wait a second. Why would Melanie, good, sweet Mel the smart and sensible girl I know be storming out of somewhere?”

“Long story Quin.” Nick answered him.

“I have time.”

“Okay well…” [If you don’t know what happened reread the last chapter] During the little story telling session, Angela was sitting right next to Nick with practically no space between them and enjoying herself for no apparent reason. “…And that’s why she stormed out.” When the three of them finished their story, including the catfight and a bunch of other incidents to give background info, the front door opened and slammed shut. “Brett, is that you?”

The voice replied dripping with sarcasm. “Not unless he shrunk three inches and grew a bust overnight.”

“Ohh sassy!” Quin couldn’t help but saying.

Melanie’s voice became to a more normal pitch as she moved closer to the room. “Who else is here besides the drag queen?”

“Well Melanie Tanner this is the game of life…” Melanie walked in the room.

“Chad? Quentin? Nick? Brian? Why are you all here?”

“Better yet Mel…” Quin started, but him and everyone else in the room, except Angela, joined in as he finished his sentence saying the same exact thing. “What did you do to your hair!?”
