Interuptions
The next morning Jenna woke up to tremendous barking. “Gidget shut up!” She yelled. The barking continued and Gidget jumped up on the bed and licked her face. “It’s not you is it Gidget?” The dog happily panted. “Well then just going to have to shut those dogs up.” Jenna got up and walked downstairs in her tank top and shorts. She walked into the kitchen and grabbed a bag of raw hide bones. She slid open the separator and examined the situation. Nick was sitting there on the recliner with earphones on reading a magazine. “The idiot doesn’t even respect the dead probably.” Jenna said to herself as she shook her head in disgust. “Hey dogs come over here!” The little pugs and a terrier heard her and barked over in her direction as they came closer. Nick still didn’t notice movement or anything because he was in his own little world. She threw a couple bones down at them and they immediately shut up.
About an hour later, Jenna looked up from her seat in front of the TV to see a male and a female come walking up the drive to her door. Jenna knew they couldn’t possibly be for her so she quickly got to the door before them. She opened it to see their surprised faces. “Hi, I think you’re looking for the jackass. Well, he lives next door.” Jenna said pointing to her right. Jenna then quickly shut the door before they could reply.
Jenna watched and listened to the scene that was going on the next wall over through a small indent at the separator. The blonde greeted the two guests with much enthusiasm. “Nick, we saw your neighbor, she seemed…” The short brown headed guy trailed off.
“Frisky.” The lady finished.
“Yeah she won’t give me the time of day.” Jenna laughed to herself.
“I don’t because I can’t trust you. I can’t trust many people at all.” Jenna quietly spoke out loud to no one and went into another room.
