Hello my friends, this section of WintersWorld is
not NA,but it holds many wonderful thoughts and
feelings.I know the things you will find here have
touched my heart many times over and they have been a
comfort to me many times also.So I add this part of
WintersWorld for you to read and reflect upon as I
have. And I hope that you will find something here that
you too can take with you and let it become a comfort
or a reminder that yes, life does seem so very hard at
times, but if we can get passed that part of life that
we must all go though there will be a bright tomorrow
again. We just have to hold on to whatever it is
that each of us carry within us that makes us
strong. That gets us to that bright tomorrow once
more.Peace and Love my Friends..WintersChild

BEAUTIFUL WORDS FOR A BEAUTIFUL DAY!!

I've never made a fortune
and it's probably too late now
But I don't worry about that much
I'm happy anyhow

And as I go along life's way
I'm reaping better than I sow
I'm drinking from my saucer
'Cause my cup has overflowed

Haven't got a lot of riches
and sometimes the going's tough
But I've got loving ones around me
and that makes me rich enough

I thank God for his blessing
and the mercies He's bestowed
I'm drinking from my saucer
'cause my cup has overflowed

I remember times when things
went wrong
My faith wore somewhat thin
But all at once the dark clouds broke
and sun peeped through again

So Lord, help me not to gripe
about the tough rows that I've hoed
I'm drinking from my saucer
"Cause my cup has overflowed

If God gives me strength and courage
When the way grows steep and rough
I'll not ask for other blessings
I'm already blessed enough

And may I never be too busy
to help others bear their loads
Then I'll keep drinking from my saucer
"Cause my cup has overflowed

ONE HEART

Among your small possessions
In a place all by itself
There's a gift I one time gave you
One heart upon your shelf

This gift takes little space up
And it's never in the way
I'd guess you never notice it
As you go about your day

You never have to move it
It goes every where you are
Just hovers in the background
But always not too far

And if you need some comfort
When things are not quite right
Take out the heart I gave you
It'll get you through the night

No matter where life's road leads
If fortune's promise proves untrue
One thing you'll take beyond this life's
The heart I gave to you.

Dozen Roses

I got a dozen roses
From a friend the other day;
But I only have 1 left,
For I gave them all away.

I gave one to my sister,
Who to me is very dear,
In hopes that it will bring to her
A little floral cheer.

I took one to a friend
Who's not feeling very well:
The flower or the visit--
Which helped more I could not tell.

One went to a friend
I haven't known for very long
She struggles, so in some small way,
I hope this helps her carry on.

The rest went to the ones
Who've helped me in so many ways;
They have been a cheerful presence
On my dreary days.

The Roses were so pretty
I just could not keep them all
Except one single bud standing
Beautiful and tall.

My friend gave me the flowers
To help brighten up my day,
But the biggest joy I received,
Was giving them away.

A MAN'S CRY

A friend of mine...was driving through an intersection one day and his little three-or four-year-old son was in the car with him...The car door flew open, and the little boy rolled out of the vehicle right into the middle of traffic coming from four ways! The last thing my friend saw was a set of car wheels just about on top of his son--moving at a vary fast rate of speed. All he knew to do was cry, "JESUS!" As soon as he could bring his car to a halt, he jumped out ran to his son, who was perfectly all right. But the man driving the car that had almost hit the child was absolutely hysterical. My friend went over to him and started trying to comfort him... "Man, don't be upset!" he said. "My son is all right, he's okay...Don't be concerned about it. Just thank God you were able to stop!"You don't understand!" the man responded.

"I never touched my brakes!"

COME THE DAWN

After awhile you learn the subtle difference
Between holding a hand and chaining a soul,
And you learn that love doesn't mean security,
And you begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts And presents aren't promises
And you begin to accept your defeats
with your head up and eyes open with the grace of
a woman,Not the grief of a child,
And you learn to build all your roads
on today because tomorrows ground
Is too uncertain, and futures have a way
of falling down in mid-flight,
And after awhile you learn that even sunshine
burns If you get too much,
so you plant your garden and decorate your own
soul,Instead of waiting
For someone to bring you flowers,
And you learn that you really can endure,
That you really are strong
And you really do have worth,
And you learn and learn
With every good-bye you learn.

The Size of Your Heart

It isn't the size of your house as such That matters so much at all. It's the gentle hand and its loving touch, That make it great or small. The friends who come and the hour they go, Who out of your house depart, Will judge it not by the style you show, But rather by the size of your heart. It isn't the size of your head so much, It isn't the wealth you found. That will make you happy -- it's how you touch The lives that are all around. For making money is not hard -- To live life well is an art: How people love you, how they regard, Is all in the size of your heart.

Have You Taken the Time to Really Listen

A friend came to me today and needed to talk.
As I sat listening, I wondered just how many times
I had said, "If you need me, I'm here for you". As
this friend began telling me what the problem was,
I realized, I was tuning out and turning off. As I
watched what was being written, my mind wandered.
I thought to myself, this is such a small problem
compared to what I am facing right now, why do I
waste my time? But then something was said that
grabbed me and moved me. This friend described how
much turmoil had come into her life and how she
just felt so alone. How she didn't think she
wanted to continue living. At this point, I
struggled for words to tell her,"NO! That was not
the solution". I even said, "You have many who
care for you and are here for you"....see, there
it was again, that old phrase, but is it really
true? Do we just express empty words that have no
real meaning? Do we just say them because, at the
time ,they seem appropriate? Do we REALLY mean
these words? So many come to trust one another,
why we even share our deepest, darkest secrets and
at times these secrets become known to all. Is
this the way it should be?
After much time and effort, I really began to
listen and pay attention. My inner voice said,
"Hey, this time, this one is for real. She is
really serious and she has come to me because I
said I will be here for you." We talked a long
while and after much discussion, she understood,
there was someone to reach out to and someone who
would make a difference and just listen. And I
realized, it doesn't take much time or effort to
be there when a friend needs me. My troubles may
seem larger than life, but maybe, just maybe, that
one time I ignore a plea for help, is the one time
it is REALLY needed.
So, next time you say those few simple
words,"If you need me, I am here for you", think
about it....Do you really have the time and are
you really there? It may make the difference in
someone else's life.

One Day at a Time

There are two days in every week about which we should not worry, two days which should be kept free from fear and apprehension.
One of these days is Yesterday with all its mistakes and cares, its faults and blunders, its aches and pains. Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control. All the money in the world cannot bring back Yesterday. We cannot undo a single act we performed; we cannot erase a single word we said. Yesterday is gone forever.
The other day we should not worry about is Tomorrow with all its possible adversities, its burdens, its large promise and its poor performance; Tomorrow is also beyond our immediate control. Tomorrow's sun will rise, either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds, but it will rise. Until it does, we have no stake in Tomorrow, for it is yet to be born.
This leaves only one day, Today. Any person can fight the battle of just one day. It is when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternity's Yesterday and Tomorrow that we break down.
It is not the experience of Today that drives a person mad, it is the remorse or bitterness of something which happened Yesterday and the dread of what Tomorrow may bring.
Let us, therefore; live but one day at a time.
