Hajj Turner Poward Forward 6'8" 215 Charlottesville, VA. (Charlottesville High School) Hajj averaged 21.5 points, 14.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.1 steals in leading his team to the district championship and a 12-12 reord. Shot 59 percent from the field, including 40 percent at the three point line (4-10), and 54 percent at the free-throw line. Single game records were 42 points and 22 rebounds, both set as a senior. Was honored as a second team all-state selection (five-man team) and was the district player of the year as both junior and senior. Turner had 1,243 career points and 908 career rebounds while at Charlottesville. Averaged 18 points and 13 rebounds as a junior fpr coach Mitch Minor. Hajj's brother Tarik played with current UofL forward/center Alex Sanders at Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson Va. and currently is a member of the St. John's basketball team. His sister Mandisa plays for George Washington. A two-time All-Central Virginia honoree, Turner was a high honorable mention All-America selection by Street & Smith's, and is currently rated #125 by Prep Stars! Hajj had 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists, hitting six-of-eight shots from the field, in the Kentucky Derby Festival Classic All Star game held in Freedom Hall. Hajj chose Louisville over Rutgers!
