The Primer--A Q & A for Season 4

Q: How's life?

Stuslide: Very hectic. With graduating, job seraching, working on the novel, it's just been crazy.

Q: So what are your thoughts about Season 3?

S: Great. Especially the first eleven or twelve episodes. I thought that everything came together beautifully in those. I still can't believe that I killed Richard, one of my original.

Q: Why did you kill Richard?

S: Several reasons. Firstly, Richard had run his course. I took him from underdog to villain to hero. Rather than have him arond and he get stale I thought it was time to leave him alone.
Secondly, I wanted to make Season 3 a deadlier season. Who whould make it to Earth? Someone would have to die. At the time of his death, Richard was connected to everyone. He got Kat to open up. He was best friend to Professor Brown. He was actually a trusted confidante to Randy...who was his adversary over Melissa the first two seasons. I thguoth his death...being so connected to everyone...would be very devastating.

Q: Spekaing of Melissa, is she back? If so, is it the real one?

S: Yes, she's back. Yes, she's the real deal. Like everyone else, she will be different.

Q: So what can we expect in Season 4?

S: More standalones. Or more specifically...more of a season two vibe.
Much as I love season three, I have to admit it was a little too arc for my taste. When I first stared, I was more interested in the character arcs, while what plot arcs I had were in the background. Season 3 was more of a test for me to see how much of a complex arc I could make as well as be a little different. However, I think the arc swallowed up the character arcs of some of the characters in the last half of last season. It also swallowed up the standalones.
So the challenge this season will be to see if I can balance. That was something that was in Season 2. There were standalones that got inot the characters. There were stories that got into the mythology. Everything was wrapped up in the finale. Also I want to push my creativity a little more. Get back to humore. Get back to satire. Get back to teaser worlds and twist endings.

Q: Is Randy Heim dead?

S: You'll see.

Q: Who is the new member?

S: Someone that Slider fans know...and that is all I'm saying.

Q: Anything else you want to say about the new season?

S: I'm already calling it "The Great Mind Warp" because nothing will be as it seems at first glance. As the season goes on, readers will see what I mean. *s*
