Jacob Waller kicked a 36 yard field goal in the closing second to give Raceland a 17-14 victory over Ashland Blazer. Raceland jumped out to a 14-0 first quarter lead but Ashland battled back to knot the score at 14-14 late in the third quarter. Raceland recorded 13 first downs and 250 yards of total offense. The Rams were penalized three times for 30 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted. Ashland Blazer recorded 15 first downs and 286 yards of total offense. The Tomcats were penalized six times for 50 yards and lost a fumble.

Landen Stiltner led Raceland;s ground game with 126 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries. Shannon Marushi carried the ball 15 times for 72 yards. Jonah Arnett recorded 48 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries. Jacob Waller completed one of five passes for three yards with one interception. Eli Evans caught one pass for three yards. Jonah Arnett led the defense with six solo and two assisted tackles. Bryson Rowsey recorded five solo and three assisted tackles. Shannon Marushi added six solo tackles. Jackson King chipped in with four solo and two assisted tackles. David Headlee added one solo and five assisted tackles and Landon Stiltner recovered a fumble.

Cam Davis led Ashland’s ground game with 77 yards on 18 carries. Justin Hughes carried the ball six times for 43 yards and a touchdown. Daylen Farrow added 24 yards on four carries. Justin Hughes completed 12 of 22 passes for 100 yards and a touchdown. Mason Wolfe caught five passes for 67 yards and a touchdown. Sam Lyons caught two passes for 20 yards. Dylan Duckwyler recorded three receptions for 14 yards. Brody Simpkins led the defense with six solo and six assisted tackles. Luke McCoy recorded seven solo and three assisted tackles and recovered a fumble. Nathaniel Williams recorded four solo and three assisted tackles. Rieday Rucker added five solo and one assisted tackles and recovered a fumble. JJ Keyes chipped in with four solo tackles and Cam Davis intercepted a pass.

Ryle defeated Covington Catholic by the score of 26-20. Cash Harney scored on an eight yard run in the final seconds to allow Covington Catholic to narrow the deficit to six points in a physical hard fought game. Ryle recorded 15 first downs and 293 yards of total offense. The Raiders were penalized five times for 32 yards and had one pass intercepted. Covington Catholic recorded 17 first downs and 375 yards of total offense. The Colonels were penalized five times for 30 yards and had two passes intercepted.

Jacob Savage led Ryle’s ground game with 87 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries. Nathan Verax added 85 yards on nine carries. Dameyn Anness added 79 yards on 14 carries. Natahn Verax completed three of 11 passes for 26 yards and a touchdown with one interception. Dylan Lee caught two passes for 19 yards and a touchdown. Xavier Collins returned two kickoffs for 24 yards including a long return of 13 yards. Cruze Sauley returned one kickoff for 20 yards. Gavin Moses was one of one on conversion kicks, added field goals of 42 and 34 field goals, punted twice for a 36.0 average, and kicked off four times for a 59.0 average with three touch backs. Jacob Savage led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackles. Gavin Lyons added five solo and one assisted tackles. Kai Workman recorded four solo and five assisted tackles. Bredyn Elder chipped in with three solo and four assisted tackles. Dylan Lee intereceoted two passes with return yardage of 52 yards.

Cash Harney led Covington Catholic’s ground game with 131 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries. Dylan Gaiser carried the ball 10 times for 59 yards. Cash Harney completed 13 of 18 passes for 184 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions. Dylan Gaiser caught five passes for 81 yards and a touchdown. Zach Brooks added three receptions for 45 yards. Logan Sanning recorded two receptions for 32 yards. Donovan Bradshaw caught two passes for 20 yards. Dylan Gaiser returned one kickoff for 15 yards. Logan Sanning and Cash Myers each recorded nine solo and one assisted tackles. Jackson Payne added eight solo and three assisted tackles. Zach Brooks intercepted a pass.

Belfry defeated East Carter 55-28 to give Matt Varney his initial victory as head coach at Belfry. Legendary Belfry head coach Philip Haywood died earlier this year as a result of a tragic auto accident. Coach Haywood was the state’s all time wins leader and had been on the Belfry sidelines since 1983. Belfry recorded 17 first downs and 436 yards of total offense. The Pirates were penalized four times for 43 yards. East Carter recorded 15 first downs and 415 yards of total offense. They were penalized six times for 42 yards, lost s fumble, and had two passes intercepted.

Jeremiah Austin led Belfry’s ground game with 147 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries. Dante Davis carried the ball twice for 35 yards and a touchdown. Ace Caudill recorded 26 yards and a touchdown on two carries. JB Woolum carried the ball three times for 24 yards. Chase Varney completed five of eight passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns. JB Woolum caught three passes for 103 yards and a touchdown. Ace Caudill added two receptions for 98 yards and one touchdown. JB Woolum also scored on an 80 yard kickoff return. Jaydon Muncy also score on an 81 yard fumble recovery return. Keaton Deskins led the defense with one solo and nine assisted tackles. Jackson Chaffin added nine assisted tackles. Ace Caudill recorded two solo and six assisted tackles. Dante Davis chipped in with seven assisted tackles. Eli Caudill recorded two solo and four assisted tackles and intercepted a pass. JB Woolum intercepted a pass he returned for 36 yards.

Landon Yoak carried the ball 23 times for 223 yards and two touchdowns. Levi Ruffin carried the ball once for 57 yards and a touchdown. Dzsawn Beason added 31 yards and a touchdown on six carries. Thomas Burton completed six of 12 passes for 85 yards with two interceptions. Grant Menix caught three passes for 76 yards. Hall caught one pass for five yards. Dzsawn Beason added one reception for two yards. Chase McGuffin also caught one pass for two yards.

Wayne County defeated Paul Laurence Dunbar by the score of 48-13 despite star QB Korbyn Edwards taking limited snaps due to a hard hit early in the game. However they got big nights on the ground from Weston Hancock (111 yards and two touchdowns) and Nathaniel Wright (98 yards and three touchdowns). Wayne County recorded 17 first downs and 257 yards of total offense. The Cardinals were penalized eight times for 81 yards. Paul Laurence Dunbar recorded eight first down and 119 yards. The Bulldogs were penalized twice for 11 yards and lost two fumbles.

Weston Hancock led Wayne County with 111 yards and two touchdowns with 22 carries. Nathaniel Wright added 98 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries. Korbyn Edwards recorded 33 yards and a touchdown on six carries. Korbyn Edwards completed one of two passes for 15 yards. Brice Lefevers caught one pass for 15 yards. Ian Tucker returned one kickoff for 79 yards and a touchdown. Thorin Johnson led the defense with five solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling six yards. Ethan Pittman added four solo and two assisted tackles with 1.3 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards. Highlands overcame mistakes and lost opportunities to defeat Frederick Douglass 21-20 in two overtimes. Highlands lost two fumbles, had a pass intercepted and missed four field goal attempts with two of them being blocked. The score was tied 7-7 at the end of regulation. Highlands took the ball first in overtime and scored on a Tayden Lorenzen 1 yard run but the two point conversion attempt failed leaving the door open for Frederick Douglass. Terry Cayson scored on a 10 yard pass from Brady Ross but the conversion kick was blocked leaving the score at 13-13 and moving to a second overtime. Frederick Douglass got the ball first and scored on a 3 yard run by Dakari Talbert and Ron’Rekus Barber added the conversion kick to give the Broncos a 14-7 lead. However the Bluebirds were not done as Tayden Lorenzen scored on a 4 yard run and then added a conversion run to give Highlands a 21-20 victory.

Highlands recorded 19 first downs and 306 yards of total offense. The Bluebirds were penalized six times for 55 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted. Frederick Douglass recorded six first downs and 128 yards of total offense. The Broncos were penalized 10 times for 65 yards.

Gabe Williams led Highlands’ ground game with 84 yards on 18 carries. Tayden Lorenzen carried the ball 14 times for 47 yards and two touchdowns. Rio Litmer completed 13 of 18 passes for 129 yards and one touchdown with one interception. Cale Harris caught eight passes for 88 yards and a touchdown. Gabe Williams added two receptions for 18 yards. Tayden Lorenzen caught two passes for 12 yards. Gabe Williams returned one kickoff for 23 yards. Andrew Lucas returned one kickoff for 19 yards. Gabe Williams led the defense with two solo and five assisted tackles. Connor Carnohan added eight assisted tackles. Max Merz recorded two solo and three assisted tackles.

Dakari Talbert led Frederick Douglass’ ground game with 69 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries. Carter Ross carried the ball three times for 38 yards and a touchdown. Brady Ross completed five of 11 passes for 48 yards and a touchdown. DeAndre Clay caught three passes for 39 yards. Terry Cayson added a 10 yard touchdown pass. Kane Pointer returned two kickoffs for 79 yards with a long return of 67 yards. Tacori Fields led the defense with four solo and 20 assisted tackles and recovered a fumble. Thurman Wade added eight solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a four yard loss. Nelson Irakiza recorded three solo and seven assisted tackles. Jimmy Hooks chipped in with four solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a two yard loss. Cionne Conn recorded three solo and three assisted tackles and intercepted a pass he returned four yards. Stoney Mack added one solo and two assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.

Madison Central shut out Conner tonight by the score of 43-0. The Indians opened the game with a 90 yard kickoff return by Jeff Hairston and never looked back. Cordion Abernathy led Conner’s ground game with two yards on eight carries. Grayson Montgomery completed six of 17 passes for 65 yards with one interception. Abraham Koller caught two passes for 30 yards. Aydin Depenbrock added 23 yards on two receptions. Shepherd Dozier returned three kickoffs for 85 yards with a long return of 39 yards and returned one punt for six yards. Cordion Abernathy returned one kickoff for 18 yards. Tates Creek trailed 29-26 at halftime but scored 40 unanswered in the second half to earn a 66-29 victory over Mercer County. This game could be described in several ways: “basketball on grass”, “fast break football”, “arcade football” but that still would not describe tonight. The two teams combined for 42 points in the first quarter, Tates Creek scoring 40 points after the intermission, back to back kickoff returns for touchdowns, Mercer County’s QB Cornelius Mapp throwing a pass, being tipped at the line of scrimmage, Mapp catches his own pass and scores a 12 yard touchdown pass from Mapp to Mapp, you get the idea, it was that type of night.

Tates Creek recorded 22 first downs and 476 yards of total offense. The Commodores were penalized 16 times for 179 yards. Mercer County recorded 15 first downs and 192 yards of total offense. The Titans were penalized 13 times for 81 yards and had three passes intercepted.

TayTay Allen led Tates Creek’s ground game with 112 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries. BJ Evans carried the ball 12 times for 69 yards and two touchdowns. Darnell Burnside completed 13 of 20 passes for 264 yards and five touchdowns. Triston Taylor caught seven passes for 93 yards. Luke Cooper added five receptions for 104 yards and two touchdowns. JT Cooper recorded three receptions for 73 yards and three touchdowns. Triston Taylor returned one kickoff for 85 yards and a touchdown. JT Cooper and Luke Cooper each returned one kickoff for 44 and 19 yards respectively. Shawn Taylor led the defense with three solo and four assisted tackles. DVaughn Flowers added four solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a three yard loss and scored on a 45 yard interception return. Bryson Beatty also recorded four solo and one assisted tackles. Rekus Greer chipped in with two solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a six yard loss. Lazarey Warren intercepted a pass he returned 23 yards. Nazir Sanford also intercepted a pass.

Cohen Sanford led Mercer County’s ground game with 29 yards an da touchdown on 10 carries. Cornelius Mapp carried the ball four times for 16 yards. Cornelius Mapp completed 14 of 29 passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns with three interceptions. Jacob Sanford caught six passes for 56 yards and a touchdown. Cohen Sanford added two receptions for 21 yards. Jayden Sailor caught one pass for 44 yards. Cornelius Mapp caught a 12 yard touchdown pass. Jayden Sailor returned three kickoffs for 108 yards including an 88 yard return for a touchdown. Cannon Buchan returned one kickoff for 46 yards. Michael Cox returned two kickoffs for 22 yards with a long return of 19 yards. Torian Bess led the defense with four solo and three assisted tackles. Cohen Sanford added two solo and six assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards. Jayden Sailor recorded three solo and two assisted tackles. Michael Cox chipped in with two solo and three assisted tackles.

Scott County dominated play tonight in a 42-6 over George Rogers Clark led by Timmy Emongo’s four touchdown performance. Scott County recorded 18 first downs and 412 yards of total offense. The Cardinals were penalized six times for 50 yards. George Rogers Clark recorded 13 first downs and 245 yards of total offense. The Cardinals were penalized six times for 61 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.

Skyler Way led Scott County’s ground game with 163 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries. Timmy Emongo carried the ball 14 times for 104 yards and three touchdowns. Jayden Garrett added 46 yards and a touchdown on two carries. Charlie Ellison completed two of four passes for 42 yards and a touchdown. Timmy Emongo caught a 31 yard touchdown pass. Timmy Emongo returned two kickoffs for 46 yards including a long return of 25 yards. Riley Colvin led the defense with five solo and two assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards. Asher Brewer added five solo and one assisted tackles and intercepted a pass. Ju Ju Harmon recorded four solo and three assisted tackles and recovered a fumble. Timmy Emingo intercepted a pass he returned 37 yards.

North Oldham rolled to a 46-0 victory over Henry Clay as the offense, defense, and special teams all got in on long scoring plays. North Oldham recorded 13 first downs and 332 yards of total offense. They were penalized six times for 49 yards. Henry Clay recorded 11 first downs and 172 yards of total offense. The Blue Devils were penalized six times for 45 yards and had three passes intercepted with two of them being returned for touchdowns.

Ronin Renton led North Oldham’s ground game with 103 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries. Lucas Tompkins carried the ball twice for 24 yards. Colin Daniels completed 14 of 20 passes for 207 yards and two touchdowns. Andrew Davis caught four passes for 41 yards. Lucas Tompkins added three receptions for 93 yards and two touchdowns. Conner Nesmith recorded three receptions for 45 yards. Lucas Tompkins returned one kickoff for 14 yards. Preston Smith led the defense with six solo and five assisted tackles with1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards. Price Duke added five solo and two assisted tackles. Collins led 14-9 at halftime and pulled away in the second half for a 49-9 victory over Lafayette. Kade Goodin was unstoppable tonight as he threw for five touchdowns and added two more touchdowns o the ground. Collins had 18 first downs and 409 yards of total offense. They were penalized seven times for 60 yards and had one pass intercepted. Lafayette recorded 10 first downs and 197 yards of total offense. The Generals were penalized 12 times for 70 yards.

Kade Goodin led Collins ground game with 95 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries. A’Davion Dale carried the ball once for 27 yards. Caleb Askew carried the ball six times for 25 yards. Kade Goodin completed 17 of 26 passes for 255 yards and five touchdowns with one interception. Jason Hence caught five passes for 97 yards and two touchdowns. Aviyan Delaney added four receptions for 86 yards and two touchdowns. L. Huelsman recorded two catches for 13 yards and a touchdown. Jack McIntyre added a 42 yard interception. Dajari Hardy returned three kickoffs for 75 yards with a long return of 27 yards and returned one punt for 13 yards.
