Leslie County vs. Covington Holy Cross Wednesday January 25th

Leslie County coach Larry Sparks started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Baylee Davidson, 5-7 Sr. Courtney Hoskins, 6-0 Sr. Emma Napier, 5-3 Jr. Eden Melton, and 5-4 Jr. Iris Napier. Covington Holy Cross coach Ted Arlinghaus countered with 5-9 Sr. Nejai Lewis, 5-9 Jr. Miyah Wimzie, 6-2 Jr. Julia Hunt, 5-5 Sr. Aleah Arlinghaus, and 5-8 Jr. Aaliyah Hayes.

Covington Holy Cross raced out to a 22-4 first quarter lead on their way to a 71-38 victory over Leslie County. The Indians recorded 12 three point baskets and their defense recorded 13 steals, two blocked shots and scored 23 points off 18 Leslie County turnovers. Holy Cross shot 55.6% from the field including 12 of 19 from the three point line. The Indians connected on nine of 17 free throws and pulled down 30 rebounds. Leslie County shot 38.6% from the field including two of 12 from beyond the arc. The Lady Eagles connected on two of three free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored four points off 13 Holy Cross turnovers.

Julia Hunt led Covington Holy Cross with 18 points including two three point baskets, six rebounds, and two assists. 5-9 Sr. Sarah Bottom added 11 points including three three point baskets. 5-6 Sr. Elizabeth McCoy recorded 10 points including three three point baskets. Aaliyah Hayes chipped in with 10 points including two three point baskets and four of four free throws. 5-9 So. Aumani Nelson added five points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Aleah Arlinghaus recorded four points, eight assists, and two steals.

Emma Napier led Leslie County with 19 points and six rebounds. Courtney Hoskins added 13 points including two three point baskets, two rebounds, two assists, and four steals. Baylee Davidson recorded seven rebounds and four assists.

Owen County vs. Berea Wednesday January 25th

Berea coach Dammian Stepp countered with 5-7 Jr. Sophie Brewer, 5-6 Jr. Mandy Newman, 6-2 Jr. Lauren Stepp, 5-1 Jr. Maddy King, and 5-7 Jr. Abigail Beard.

Owen County trailed 20-17 after three quarters but rallied to defeat Berea by the score of 30-25. The score was tied four times and there were five lead changes in the game. Owen County shot 40% from the field including six of 16 from the three point line. The Lady Rebels connected on four of eight free throws, pulled down 18 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 14 Berea turnovers. Berea shot 43.5% from the field including two of four from beyond the arc. The Lady Pirates connected on three of four free throws, pulled down 12 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 17 Owen County turnovers.

Zoey Webster led Owen County with 17 points including five three point baskets. Kylee Steffen added five points. Gracie Ferguson recorded four points and seven rebounds. Rachel Howard chipped in with two points, four rebounds, five assists, and two steals.

Danville defeated Portland Christian by the score of 70-35. Danville shot 36.7% from the field including eight of 22 from the three point line. The Lady Admirals connected on 18 of 26 free throws, pulled down 51 rebounds, and scored 33 points off 26 Portland Christian turnovers. Portland Christian shot 26.9% from the field including one of six from beyond the arc. The Lady Eagles connected on six of 13 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 21 Danville turnovers.

5-4 So. Alayah Quisenberry led Danville with 18 points including four three point baskets, six rebounds, two assists, and four steals. Desiree Tandy added 15 points including five of five free throws, six rebounds, and four steals. Samantha Bottom recorded 11 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, and two steals. Jazelynn Doneghy chipped in with eight points including five of six free throws and five rebounds. 5-6 So. Nemaeh Jackson added eight points, four rebounds, and two assists. 5-6 So. Myla Turner recorded five points, nine rebounds, six assists, and two steals.

Ellie Heid led Portland Christian with 13 points, five rebounds, three assists, and seven steals. Kaela Ballard added seven points, two rebounds, and three assists. The Lady Panthers connected on nine of 14 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 38 points off 30 Carlisle County turnovers. Carlisle County shot 34.8% from the field including one of three from beyond the arc. The Lady Comets connected on six of 14 free throws, pulled down 18 rebounds, and scored four points off 10 Pikeville turnovers.

Trinity Rowe led Pikeville with 25 points including three three point baskets, six rebounds, five assists, and three steals. Kristen Whited added 11 points, four assists, and two steals. The Lady Panthers connected on 12 of 13 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 12 Danville turnovers. Danville shot 27.3% from the field including three of 13 from beyond the arc. The Lady Admirals connected on 11 of 13 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored eight points off eight Pikeville turnovers.


Kyera Thornsbury led Pikeville with 22 points including four three point baskets, four of five free throws, and five rebounds. Trinity Rowe added 19 points including three three point baskets, six of six free throws, two rebounds, 10 assists, and two steals. Leighan Jackson recorded eight points and four rebounds. Rylee Theiss chipped in with six points, 12 rebounds, and two steals. Kristen Whited added six points and two assists.

Hancock County vs. Whitefield Academy (Quarterfinal) Friday January 27th

Hancock County coach Kevin Husk countered with 5-7 Jr. Lilly Roberts, 5-7 Jr. Ella House, 5-9 Jr. Kendra Keown, 5-2 Sr. Bailey Poole, and 5-4 Sr. Emma Morris. Whitefield Academy withstood a furious rally by Hancock County in the final quarter to earn a 34-33 victory. Hancock County had a chance to force overtime after stealing an inbound pass and being fouled attempting a shot with less than one second remaining but missed the second of two free throws and time expired. Whitefield Academy led 30-22 after three quarters but Hancock County staged a comeback as Whitefield was zero of seven from the field in the final quarter. Whitefield Academy shot 25.6% from the field including three of 17 from the three point line. The Lady Wildcats connected on 11 of 17 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 14 Hancock County turnovers. Hancock County shot 34.4% from the field including six of 19 from beyond the arc. The Lady Hornets connected on five of nine free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored five points off eight Whitefield Academy turnovers.


Amy Thompson led Whitefield Academy with seven points including five of six free throws, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals. The Ascenders connected on four of 12 from the three point line, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 15 Prolific Prep turnovers. Sacred Heart Academy led by nine points with a little more than two minutes left in the game and held on for a 57-53 victory over George Rogers Clark. There were seven ties and three lead changes in the game. Sacred Heart shot 42% from the field including three of nine from the three point line. Southwood coach Christian Perry started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Cole Winer, 6-2 Jr. Will Winer, 6-4 Sr. Dylan Stout, 6-0 Sr. Nathan Lehner, and 6-1 Sr. Jason Oprisek. Indianapolis Lutheran coach Remus Woods countered with 6-3 So. Cayden Loescher, 5-11 Sr. Durray Smith, 6-5 Sr. Kaiden Patterson, 5-10 So. LJ Ward, and 6-1 Sr, Aiden Alialy.

Indianapolis Lutheran outscored Southwood 36-16 in the second quarter on their way to a 97-66 victory. Indianapolis Lutheran shot 50.7% from the field including six of 21 from the three point line. The Saints connected on 17 of 20 free throws, pulled down 52 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 24 Southwood turnovers. Southwood shot 37.3% from the field including one of 11 from beyond the arc. The Knights connected on 15 of 28 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 18 Indianapolis Lutheran turnovers.

Cayden Loescher led a balanced Indianapolis Lutheran scoring attack with 22 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and two blocked shots. Durray Smith added 21 points including five three point baskets, four rebounds, and two assists. LJ Ward recorded 17 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, six steals, and four blocked shots. 6-5 Sr. Kameron Patterson chipped in with 15 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and two blocked shots. Kaiden Patterson added 10 points, seven rebounds, and two assists.

Jason Oprisek led Southwood with 17 points, five rebounds, and two steals. Cole Winer added 15 points and six rebounds. Will Winer recorded 13 points, six rebounds, and six assists. Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian captured their thid championship in five seasons with a 52-45 victory over Linton-Stockton. However this one did not come easy as Linton-Stockton behind the hot shooting of Joey Hart (18 first half points) led 29-18 at halftime and 35-33 after three quarters. The Braves ramped up their defense after the intermission and used Kellen Pickett to closely shadow Joey Hart and they outscored Linton-Stockton 19-10 in the final quarter to earn the win.

Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian shot 42.5% from the field including six of 20 from the three point line. The Braves connected on 12 of 19 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored six points off five Linton-Stockton turnovers. Linton-Stockton shot 26,4% from the field including six of 22 from beyond the arc. The Miners were only four of 27 from the field in the second half. The Miners connected on 11 of 13 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored eight points off 10 Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian turnovers.

Kellen Pickett led Fort Wayne Blackhawk Christian with 19 points including two three point baskets, five of seven free throws, nine rebounds, and four assists. Gage Sefton added 16 points and eight rebounds. Jimmy Davidson recorded nine points, seven rebounds, and two assists.

Joey Hart led Linton-Stockton with 23 points including five three point baskets. Logan Webb added 11 points including six of six free throws, and five rebounds. Nathan Frady recorded three points, 12 rebounds, and four assists.

Northwood defeated Guerin Catholic 66-63 in overtime. Guerin Catholic trailed 44-35 after three quarters but rallied to force overtime. Northwood shot 46.9% from the field including eight of 18 from the three point line. The Panthers connected on 12 of 15 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 11 Guerin Catholic turnovers. Guerin Catholic shot 42.9% from the field including four of 17 from beyond the arc. The Golden Eagles connected on 17 of 19 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 13 Northwood turnovers.

Cade Brenner led Northwood with 28 points including five three point baskets, five of six free throws, six rebounds, and two assists. Tyler Raasch added 14 points, 13 rebounds, two steals, and five blocked shots. Ian Raasch recorded 13 points including five of six free throws, three rebounds, and three assists. Ethan Wolfe chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets and five assists. Brock Bontrager pulled down seven rebounds and dished out three assists.

Kamea Chandler led Guerin Catholic with 22 points, two rebounds, four assists, and three steals. The Wildkats connected on two of 13 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored eight points off eight Ben Davis turnovers.

Zane Doughty led Ben Davis with 20 points including 10 of 13 from the field, three rebounds, and two blocked shots. Mark Zackery IV added 16 points including three three point baskets, three rebounds, and two steals. Shaun Arnold recorded 12 points including two three point baskets, four of four free throws, two assists, and two steals. Sheridan Sharp dished out eight assists.

Flory Bidunga led Kokomo with 19 points, 11 rebounds, and five blocked shots. Zavion Bellamy added nine points, eight rebounds, and three assists. Shayne Spear recorded five points and four rebounds. Patrick Hardimon chipped in with four points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots.

Grant County raced out to a 20-7 first quarter lead on their way to a 64-51 victory over Scott County. Grant County shot 37.5% from the field including six of 19 from the three point line. The Lady Braves connected on 16 of 21 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 18 Scott County turnovers. Scott County shot 38.3% from the field including six of 22 from beyond the arc. The Lady Cardinals connected on nine of 12 from the free throw line, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 12 Grant County turnovers.

Emily Naranjo led Grant County with 23 points including 10 of 11 free throws, eight rebounds, and three steals. Jada Cummins added 14 points including three three point baskets, two rebounds, and six assists. Sarah Scroggins recorded 12 points including five of five free throws, and three assists. Sarah Russell chipped in with six points, nine rebounds, two blocked shots, and two steals.

Allison Mosby led Scott County with 16 points including three three point baskets, five of six free throws, seven rebounds, and two steals. Maleiyah Moore added 13 points including three three point baskets, Tyra Young recorded eight points, seven rebounds, and four assists. N’mya Summers chipped in with eight points and five rebounds.

Great Crossing coach Matt Walls countered with 6-0 Sr. Raegan Barrett, 5-8 Jr. Olivia Tierney, 6-0 So. Kennedy Harrison, 5-7 So. Chapel Brown, and 5-7 Sr. Rachel Smith.

Madison Southern outscored Great Crossing 23-18 in the final quarter to earn a 51-48 victory. The score was tied five times and there were nine lead changes in this game. Madison Southern shot 37.2% from the field including four of 13 from the three point line. The Lady Eagles connected on 15 of 18 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored nine points off 18 Great Crossing turnovers. Great Crossing shot 39.5% from the field including four of 13 from beyond the arc. The Lady Warhawks connected on 10 of 10 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 19 Madison Southern turnovers.

Bella Moberly led Madison Southern with 12 points, four rebounds, and four steals. Hadley French added 12 points and four steals. Tara Wooten recorded 10 points including five of six free throws. 5-10 Fr. Laci Sandlin chipped in with seven points, four rebounds, and four steals. Ashlan Estep added six points on two three point baskets, three rebounds, and two assists. Jada Carter pulled down nine rebounds.

Raegan Barrett led Great Crossing with 22 points including seven of 10 from the field and eight of eight from the free throw line, four rebounds, four blocked shots, and two steals. Chapel Brown added eight points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, and three assists. Olivia Tierney recorded eight points, four rebounds, two assists, and two steals.

Grant County defeated West Jessamine by the score of 71-68 in overtime. The score was tied six times and there were five lead changes in this game. Grant County shot 44.6% from the field including seven of 19 from the three point line. The Lady Braves connected on 14 of 20 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 14 West Jessamine turnovers. West Jessamine shot 27.1% from the field including eight of 36 from beyond the arc. The Lady Colts connected on 22 of 29 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 20 Grant County turnovers.

Jada Cummins led Grant County with 20 points including four three point baskets, four rebounds, and three steals. Emily Naranjo added 19 points and 11 rebounds. Sarah Scroggins recorded eight points, eight rebounds, and four assists. 5-6 8th Grade Olivia Ginn chipped in with seven points, two assists, and two steals. 5-7 Sr. Emily Wilcoxen added five points and seven rebounds.

Claire Marshall led West Jessamine with 28 points including 12 of 16 free throws, 18 rebounds, and three steals. Raegan Barrett led Great Crossing with 27 points including 11 of 12 free throws, eight rebounds, three blocked shots, and two steals. Rachel Smith added 11 points and three assists. Kennedy Harrison recorded six points, 13 rebounds, one blocked shot, and four steals.

Claire Marshall led West Jessamine with 20 points, 21 rebounds, four assists, one blocked shot, and seven steals. Ariana McLoney added 17 points including three three point baskets, four of four free throws, and two steals.

Madison Southern led 39-15 in the third quarter and held off a late rally by Grant County to earn a 55-47 victory. Madison Southern shot 38.1% from the field including 10 of 22 from the three point line. The Lady Eagles connected on 13 of 24 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 17 Grant County turnovers. Grant County shot 40.4% from the field including four of 13 from beyond the arc. The Lady Braves connected on five of nine free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored seven points off 12 Madison Southern turnovers.

5-10 Fr. Laci Sandlin led Madison Southern with 20 points including six three point baskets and five rebounds. Tara Wooten added 13 points including six of eight free throws, and two rebounds. Ashlan Estep recorded nine points on three three point baskets. Bella Moberly chipped in with eight points and six rebounds. Jada Carter and 5-8 Sr. Megan Correll each pulled down seven rebounds.

5-6 8th Grade Olivia Ginn led Grant County with 10 points including two three point baskets and two rebounds. Emily Naranjo added eight points and five rebounds. 5-4 So. Skyler Menefee recorded six points and four rebounds. Dakota Rowe chipped in with five points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
