Bryan Station vs. Franklin County February 27th @ Franklin County High School

Bryan Station coach Serena Sandusky started the following lineup: 5-11 Jr. Kailyn Gentry, 5-8 So. Jailenn Green, 6-3 So. Albertine Cyuzozo, 5-6 Sr. Emily Gomez, and 5-6 Sr. Makari Murphy. Franklin County coach Joey Thacker countered with 6-1 Jr. Rachel Shropshire, 6-0 Sr. Jazmin Chambers, 6-4 Sr. Jhaven Meade, 5-5 Fr. Logan Kennedy, and 5-7 So. Madison Jackson.

Franklin County defeated Bryan Station by the score of 68-52. Franklin County shot 41.8% from the field including seven of 18 from the three point line. The Lady Flyers connected on 15 of 17 free throws and pulled down 39 rebounds. Bryan Station shot 36.2% from the field including four of 12 from beyond the arc. The Lady Defenders connected on 14 of 21 free throws and pulled down 41 rebounds.

Rachel Shropshire led Franklin County with 19 points including four three point baskets and seven rebounds. Logan Kennedy added 10 points including eight of eight free throws and five rebounds. 6-1 So. Juliana Frazee and Jazmin Chambers each recorded 10 points. Jhaven Meade recorded six points and eight rebounds.

Albertine Cyuzozo led Bryan Station with 18 points including six of nine free throws and 12 rebounds. Jailenn Green added 11 points. Kailyn Gentry recorded nine points and 15 rebounds.

Tates Creek shot 23.8% from the field including three of 16 from beyond the arc. The Lady Commodores connected on 15 of 19 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 18 Madison Central turnovers.

Nataya Strader led Madison Central with 22 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and seven steals. Brittany Campbell added 14 points, four rebounds, six assists, and four steals. Bailey Hensley recorded 12 points, 13 rebounds, and three assists.

Miracle Morbley led Tates Creek with 12 points and five rebounds. Jada Bell added seven points, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals. 5-4 Fr, Jazlene Potter recorded six points, three rebounds, and three steals. Lexington Catholic defeated Madison Southern by the score of 55-42. Madison Southern led Lexington Catholic 29-25 at halftime and the score was tied three times with nine lead changes in this game. Lexington Catholic shot 46.9% from the field including five of 19 from the three point line. The Lady Knights connected on four of 10 from the free throw line, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 15 Madison Southern turnovers. Madison Southern shot 37.5% from the field including seven of 17 from beyond the arc. The Lady Eagles connected on five of five free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 10 points off nine Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Katherine Truitt led Lexington Catholic with 26 points including two three point baskets, 10 rebounds, and four steals. Mary Martin Hampton added 11 points, four rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Lydia Kennedy recorded 10 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three blocked shots. Sydney Elbert chipped in with four points, three rebounds, four assists, and four steals.

Hadley French led Madison Southern with 13 points including three three point baskets. Ashlan Estep added 10 points including two three point baskets and three assists. The Broncos connected on 20 of 29 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 15 Great Crossing turnovers. Great Crossing shot 43.6% from the field including four of 11 from beyond the arc. The Lady Warhawks connected on eight of 10 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 12 Frederick Douglass turnovers.

Victory Sledge led Frederick Douglass with 19 points including five of six free throws, 10 rebounds, and two steals. Jermyra Christian added 17 points, 11 rebounds, and four steals. Niah Rhodes recorded 12 points including two three point baskets, four of four free throws, and two assists. Olivia Tierney led Great Crossing with 13 points, eight rebounds, and three steals. Franklin County vs. Lexington Catholic March 1st @ EKU (Semifinal)

Lexington Catholic coach Lee Tegt countered with 5-10 Sr. Katherine Truitt, 5-7 Sr. Lucy Nash, 5-9 Jr. Lydia Kennedy, 5-4 Jr. Sydney Elbert, and 5-4 Sr. Mary Martin Hampton.


Lexington Catholic trailed 41-36 after three quarters but rallied for a 61-59 victory over the defending champion Franklin County squad. Franklin County trailed by 10 late in the game but staged a furious rally and missed a shot at short range in the closing seconds for the chance to tie. There were five ties and nine lead changes in the game. Lexington Catholic shot 41.7% from the field including six of 17 from the three point line. The Lady Knights connected on 15 of 24 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and committed 16 turnovers. Franklin County shot 37.1% from the field including three of 15 from beyond the arc. The Lady Flyers connected on 10 of 14 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and committed 19 turnovers.


Katherine Truitt led Lexington Catholic with 24 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, and five steals. Mary Martin Hampton added 19 points including 10 of 15 free throws, five rebounds, two assists, and four steals. Lydia Kennedy recorded 14 points including two three point baskets, six rebounds, five assists, two blocked shots, and two steals. Lucy Nash pulled down eight rebounds and dished out four assists.


6-1 So. Juliana Frazee did her damage in the second half with 21 points including five of five free throws and five rebounds. Jazmin Chambers added 11 points, five rebounds, and four assists. 5-3 So. Leia Hogan recorded eight points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and two steals. Jhaven Meade chipped in with six points and five rebounds. The Broncos connected on four of 11 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and committed eight turnovers. Madison Central shot 44% from the field including four of 12 from beyond the arc. The Lady Indians connected on two of three free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and committed 12 turnovers.


6-2 Jr. Ayanna-Sarai Darrington led Frederick Douglass with 20 points on 10 of 11 from the field, 10 rebounds, and three assists. Niah Rhodes added 17 points including three three point baskets. Jermyra Christian recorded 10 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Victory Sledge chipped in with six points, four rebounds, and two steals. Kate Baker added two points, three rebounds, and six assists. 5-9 8th Grade Jaylee Knowles recorded two points, five rwebounds, and two blocked shots.


Bailey Hensley led Madison Central with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Eden Carter added 16 points and three rebounds. Brooke Campbell recorded six points on two three point baskets, five rebounds, and two assists. Nataya Strader chipped in with five points and Brittany Campbell dished out seven assists.

The score was tied four times and there was four lead changes in the game. Frederick Douglass shot 34.5% from the field including three of 18 from the three point line. The Broncos connected on 25 of 35 free throws, pulled down 55 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 14 Lexington Catholic turnovers. Lexington Catholic shot 27.1% from the field including two of 17 from beyond the arc. The Lady Knights connected on 17 of 28 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 25 Frederick Douglass turnovers. Lexington Catholic lost three starters due to fouls; Lucy Nash, Mary Martin Hampton, and Lydia Kennedy.


Ayanna-Sarai Darrington led Frederick Douglass with 27 points including nine of 10 free throws, 29 rebounds, and two blocked shots. Niah Rhodes added 13 points including three three point baskets and four of four from the free throw line. Jermyra Christian recorded 12 points, eight rebounds, eight assists, two blocked shots, and two steals. 5-8 Jr. Victory Sledge chipped in with seven points and four rebounds. Kate Baker added five points, three rebounds, and four assists.


Katherine Truitt led Lexington Catholic with 23 points including five of eight free throws, eight rebounds, two assists, and six steals. Lucy Nash added nine points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and three steals. Akron Buchtel coach Rayshon Dent started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Jayden Maxwell, 6-3 So. Steven Diamond, 6-3 Sr. Amire Robinson, 6-2 Sr. Khoi Thurmon, and 6-2 Sr. Marcel Boyce Jr. Rocky River Lutheran West coach Jordan Duke countered with 6-3 Sr. Clay Noble, 6-2 Jr. Junior Kambomba, 6-4 So. Marcel Boyce Jr. hit two free throws with 14.5 seconds to give Akron Buchtel a 51-49 victory. Rocky River Lutheran West’s Joshua Meyer hit a basket in the lane at the buzzer that was originally thought to tie the game but after the referees reviewed the play the basket was waved off because the shot came after the horn. There were nine ties and 11 lead changes in this game. Akron Buchtel shot 47.2% from the field including five of 14 from the three point line. The Griffins connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored six points off five Rocky River Lutheran West turnovers. Rocky River Lutheran West shot 47.5% from the field including five of 14 from beyond the arc. The Longhorns connected on six of 11 free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored nine points off nine Akron Buchtel turnovers.

Marcel Boyce Jr. led Akron Buchtel with 18 points including seven of 10 free throws, and pulled down six rebounds. Khoi Thurmon added 11 points including five of six free throws, and three assists. Jayden Maxwell recorded 10 points including two three point baskets. Amire Robinson chipped in with five points, six rebounds, five assists, and three blocked shots.

The Knights connected on four of 10 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 14 Pickerington Central turnovers. Knoxville Fulton defeated Haywood by the score of 82-52. Knoxville Fulton shot 64.8% from the field including eight of 14 from the three point line. The Bulldogs connected on 15 of 20 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 15 Middleton turnovers. Middleton shot 37.8% from the field including three of 10 from beyond the arc. The Tigers connected on six of 14 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 14 Hampton turnovers.

Alcoa rallied from a 45-39 deficit at the end of three quarters to defeat Frederick Douglass 59-58 on a layup by Jahvin Carter with four seconds remaining on the clock. There were five ties and nine lead changes in the game. Alcoa shot 43.4% from the field including three of 11 from the three point line. The Tornadoes connected on 10 of 14 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 18 Frederick Douglass turnovers. Frederick Douglass shot 47.4% from the field including three of 10 from beyond the arc. The Red Devils connected on one of three free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 17 Alcoa turnovers.

Jahvin Carter led Alcoa with 24 points including five of five free throws, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Jordan Harris added 14 points, six rebounds, and two assists. 6-2 Jr. Brandon Winton Jr. recorded eight points, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Armelo Boone hit a three point basket late in the game to give Frederick Douglass the 43-41 win over Lexington Catholic. Lexington Catholic had a late opportunity but could not get off a shot. The score was tied twice and there were seven lead changes in the game. Frederick Douglass shot 35.4% from the field including three of 11 from the three point line. The Broncos connected on six of 10 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 10 Lexington Catholic turnovers. Lexington Catholic shot 40.5% from the field including two of 11 from beyond the arc. The Knights connected on five of seven free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored six points off six Frederick Douglass turnovers.

Madison Southern shot 52.9% from the field including seven of 12 from the three point line. The Lady Eagles connected on 14 of 17 free throws and pulled down 30 rebounds. Berea shot 11.1% from the field including zero of 10 from beyond the arc. Morgan Hunt added 11 points, six rebounds, four assists, and four blocked shots. 6-3 Jr. Kynnedi Hager recorded 10 points and four rebounds. Torie Richards chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets. Bella Black pulled down 10 rebounds.

Mackenzie Royal-Davis led Toledo Christian with 20 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists. Kendall Braden added 12 points, seven rebounds, and two steals. Macey Wensink recorded eight points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, and two steals. Jordan Rosales chipped in with six points on two three point baskets and three assists. Doylestown Chippewa coach Denny Schrock started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Annabel Rodriguez, 5-9 Sr. Kendall Shiaria, 5-11 Jr. Sky Regan, 5-7 Sr. Jaclyn Jundzilo, and 5-8 Sr. Abby Henegar. Columbus Africentric coach Janicia Anderson countered with 5-10 Jr. Natiah Anderson, 5-8 Fr. Jeniya Bowers, 5-10 Jr. Samairah Thompson, 5-7 Jr. Ashtan Winfrey, and 5-5 Sr. Ariel Grace.

Columbus Africentric defeated Doylestown Chippewa by the score of 75-62. Columbus Africentric shot 50.9% from the field including three of seven from the three point line. The Nubians connected on 18 of 22 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 14 Doylestown Chippewa turnovers. Doylestown Chippewa shot 37.3% from the field including six of 17 from beyond the arc. The Chipps connected on 12 of 14 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 17 Columbus Africentric turnovers.

Natiah Nelson led Columbus Africentric with 17 points including 11 of 13 free throws, seven rebounds, three assists, four steals, and five blocked shots. Jeniya Bowers added 17 points and five rebounds. Ashtan Winfrey recorded 14 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Samairah Thompson added 13 points, 11 rebounds, and two steals. 5-4 Jr. Rayanna Howell chipped in with eight points.

Annabel Rodriguez led Doylestown Chippewa with 19 points, four rebounds, and two assists. Jaclyn Jundzilo added 15 points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, and four steals. Cincinnati Princeton coach Dee Davis countered with 6-1 Sr. Diawna Carter-Hartley, 5-8 So. Mari Gerton, 6-1 So. Kali Forston, 5-6 Sr. La’Sonya Hill, and 5-8 Sr. Sole Williams.

Cincinnati Princeton defeated Olmsted Falls by the score of 69-51. Cincinnati Princeton shot 52.6% from the field including three of 13 from the three point line. The Vikings connected on six of 10 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 10 Olmsted Falls turnovers. Olmsted Falls shot 31.6% from the field including nine of 34 from beyond the arc. The Bulldogs connected on six of 11 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 11 Cincinnati Princeton turnovers.

Diawna Carter-Hartley led Cincinnati Princeton with 18 points, nine rebounds, and two assists. Kali Forston added 16 points, 12 rebounds, and three steals. Sole Williams recorded 13 points and eight assists. Ls’Sonya Hill chipped in with 13 points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Mari Gerton added nine points, eight rebounds, and four assists.

Danielle Cameron led Olmsted Falls with 22 points including six three point baskets, seven rebounds, and two assists.
