There were many outstanding players in this venue and several had excellent games.  I have included some names but understand there were many others that impressed this week end.  Chase Keen (2023) (Dublin Coffman), Jon Mills (East Ridge), 5-9 (2024) Blake Reed (Bracken County), 5-11 (2023) Colin Porter (Ashland Blazer) tallied 41 points in one game, 6-1 (2022) Ethan Sellars (Ashland Blazer), 6-8 (2022) Christian Collins (Breathitt County), 6-3 (2025) Austin Sperry (Breathitt County), 6-0 (2022) Anthony Hersch (Capital), 6-3 (2022) Isaac McKneely (Poca), 6-1 (2023) Will Herald (Highlands) recorded 48 points including 10 three point baskets in one game, 6-1 (2023) Nate Mitchell (Mason County), 6-1 (2022) Ajay Sheldon (Dublin Coffman), and (2022) Rheyce DeBoard (Boyd County).  6-2 (2022) Cole Villers has always been a key performer for Ashland Blazer. Villers averaged 23.0 ppg last season and is a deadly shooter.

Coach Mays and his staff did an excellent job with this event and under his direction will only get better and bigger.  Also the website did an excellent job with the score updates and Coach Mays was very informative and provided a lot of info about the event

Madison Central Girls Basketball at Georgetown Team Camp

Georgetown College

Georgetown, KY

June 14-16, 2021

Madison Central attended the Georgetown College Team Count on June 14-16, 2021 and went 11-4 in the fifteen varsity games they played.  Madison Central enters the season with a young but talented squad and appears to have a bright future.  I watched several of their games and have added some of my personal observations on the players I observed.  They were missing some players due to injuries or other obligations.

5-4 2025 Nataya Strader is quick athletic, can get to the rim and when she sets her feet has an excellent shooting stroke.  5-6 2025 Brittany Campbell has excellent court vision and is a true point guard who will find the open person.  She can get to the rim and has a nice outside shot.  5-6 2025 Brooke Campbell is an excellent long range shooter, a ferocious rebounder for size, and is now scoring off the dribble.  5-10 2024 Bailey Hensley has all the physical attributes, quick, athletic, and can jump.  Bailey scores at will inside, has an improving jump shot, and works hard on the boards.  5-6 2025 Tiana Long is a “glue” player who does a little of everything and always gets results on the court.  5-4 2023 Eve Carter is strong, athletic, and has great anticipation on defense.  Eve gets to the rim and scores on a “floater” that is difficult to defend.  5-6 2024 Eden Carter is quick, strong. athletic, and is a tireless worker.  5-7 2024 Olivia Metcalfe is very athletic with excellent potential.  5-9 2022 Kessaney Melton transferred from Rowan County is a strong inside player who pounds the board and can finish in the paint and has a nice shooting touch.  Other players will contribute once the season starts and the ones that are rehabbing injuries recover.  This is a young team that has a lot of potential and despite their youth have logged serious varsity minutes and are experienced basketball wise beyond their years.
