Breathitt County put together a complete game tonight in a 41-19 victory over Leslie County.  Breathitt County had to answer some questions tonight even to themselves.  The Bobcats had put up big numbers on offense but Leslie County’s defense could poise a challenge.  Also, Breathitt County’s defense was suspect against the run as they gave up 558 yards on the ground against Pike County Central in their only loss of the year.  They turned to their jack-of-all trades Lane Weddle who excelled on both offense and defense.  Despite injuries to their linebacker corps their front seven held Leslie County in check all night.  Breathitt County recorded 20 first downs and 413 yards of total offense.  The Bobcats were penalized six times for 54 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.  Leslie County recorded 18 first downs and 355 yards of total offense.  They were penalized eight times for 61 yards, lost two fumbles, and had one pass intercepted.

Lane Weddle led Breathitt County’s ground game with 222 yards and three touchdowns on 23 carries.  Jaylen Turner carried the ball 14 times for 62 yards and two touchdowns.  Jaylen Turner completed nine of 16 passes for 102 yards and one touchdown with one interception.  Bryce Hopkins caught two passes for 45 yards and a touchdown.  Austin Sperry added five receptions for 31 yards.  Lane Weddle caught two passes for 26 yards.  Darren Noble led the defense with six solo and two assisted tackles.  Tyler Bryant added five solo and two assisted tackles.  Lance Weddle recorded three solo and one assisted tackles and intercepted a pass he returned for 21 yards and also recovered a fumble.

Brannon Stubblefield led Leslie County’s ground game with 84 yards.  Trent Asher carried the ball 10 times for 71 yards.  Zack Parker completed 11 of 26 passes for 208 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.  Trent Asher caught three passes for 76 yards and a touchdown.  Dalton Baker added two receptions for 41 yards.  Wyatt Ostrander added a six yard touchdown reception.  Cody Adams and Bryce Pugh each recovered a fumble and Wyatt Ostrander intercepted a pass.
