Nicholas County coach Greg S. Letcher started the following lineup: 5-9 Sr. Megan Cobb, 5-7 Jr. Autumn Adams, 5-10 Sr. Sydni Gifford, 5-4 So. Jada Cleaver, and 5-4 Sr. Audra Felts.  Madison Central coach Brad Lovely countered with 5-10 Jr. Gretchen Hammitt, 5-9 Sr. Taleya Todd, 5-11 Sr. Jekauri McKeithen, 5-4 Fr. Eve Carter, and 5-5 Jr. Brianna Bierbaum.

 

Poor free throw shooting (8-21) doomed Madison Central tonight as they fell to Nicholas County by the score of 41-36.  The score was tied seven times and there were six lead changes in the game.  Nicholas County shot 27.9% from the field including three of 10 from the three point line.  The Lady Jackets connected on 14 of 17 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored seven points off 12 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 27.1% from the field including two of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on eight of 21 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored seven points off nine Nicholas County turnovers.

 

Jada Cleaver led Nicholas County with 14 points including five of six free throws.  Autumn Adams added 12 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and two steals.  5-9 Sr. Morgan Watkins recorded five points, nine rebounds, two assists, and three steals.

 

Taleya Todd led Madison Central with 13 points, four rebounds, two blocked shots, and two steals.  Jekauri McKeithen added 12 points, 16 rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Eve Carter recorded six points, 10 rebounds, and five assists.

Jordyn Adams led Austin Peay with 23 points, five rebounds, and three assists.  Terry Taylor added 19 points, 13 rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Eli Abaev recorded 19 points including 11 of 18 free throws and 12 rebounds.  6-4 Sr. Evan Hinson chipped in with 12 points including six of eight free throws.  6-2 Fr. Madison Southern came out firing tonight from long range tonight, connecting on 16 three point baskets in a 74-60 over a good Harlan County team.  Madison Southern led 33-27 at halftime but outscored Harlan County 26-14 in the third quarter to decide the game.  Madison Southern shot 51% from the field including 16 of 30 from the three point line.  The Black Bears connected on six of 11 free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 17 Harlan County turnovers.  Harlan County shot 47.7% from the field including four of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on 14 of 17 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 10 Madison Southern turnovers.

 

Hunter Buchanan led Madison Southern with 24 points on eight three point baskets.  Chad Fugate added 18 points including four three point baskets, five rebounds, five assists, and two steals.  Nate Turner recorded 16 points including two three point baskets and three assists.
