Austin Peay defeated Eastern Kentucky 28-21 in overtime today.  Eastern Kentucky trailed 21-10 in the final quarter but rallied to tie the score and force overtime.  Austin Peay got the ball first in overtime and immediately scored on a 25 yard touchdown pass from JaVaughn Craig to Kentel Williams and a conversion kick by Logan Birchfield.  Eastern Kentucky then got the ball but was unable to score.  Austin Peay recorded 16 first downs and 301 yards of total offense.  They were penalized 10 times for 99 yards and lost a fumble.  Eastern Kentucky recorded 18 first downs and 303 yards of total offense.  The Colonels were penalized nine times for 80 yards and had three passes intercepted.

JaVaughn Craig led Austin Peay’s ground game with 46 yards on 10 carries.  Kentel Williams carried the ball nine times for 16 yards.  Ahmaad Tanner recorded 16 yards and a touchdown on seven carries.  JaVaughn Craig completed 21 of 35 passes for 238 yards and three touchdowns.  DeAngelo Wilson caught seven passes for 105 yards and a touchdown.  Baniko Harley added six receptions for 63 yards.  Kentel Williams added five receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown.  Prince Momodu caught a one yard touchdown pass.  Josh Alexander returned three kickoffs for 91 yards with a long return of 44 yards.  Isaiah Norman led the defense with six solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a two yard loss.  Juantarius Bryant added five solo and four assisted tackles.  Jack McDonald chipped in with six solo and two assisted tackles.  Josephus Smith recorded three solo and five assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling six yards.  Shaun Whittinghill, Pat Walker, and Kordell Jackson each intercepted a pass with return yardage of 0, 38, and 8 yards respectively.

Daryl McCleskey led Eastern Kentucky’s ground game with 145 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries.  Alonzo Booth carried the ball 12 times for 24 yards.  Parker McKinney added 23 yards on 10 carries.  Parker McKinney completed 16 of 31 passes for 111 yards with three interceptions.  Keyion Dixon caught six passes for 48 yards.  Ethan Bradds caught three passes for 42 yards.  Quentin Pringle returned one kickoff for 35 yards and Jerome Gross returned a punt for 11 yards.  Corey Glass led the defense with four solo and six assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a six yard loss.  Ben Bascom added three solo and six assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a four yard loss.  Steven Crowder recorded three solo and three assisted tackles.  Quinten Floyd recovered a fumble.

Meade County scored a touchdown and two point conversion with 1:03 seconds left in the game to earn a 14-10 victory over DeSales High School.  Meade County recorded 14 first downs and 177 yards of total offense.  The Green Wave were penalized twice for 10 yards and lost a fumble.  DeSales High School recorded 16 first downs and 292 yards of total offense.  The Colts were penalized five times for 38 yards and had three passes intercepted.

Myron Page led Meade County’s ground game with 40 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.  Austin Oppel carried the ball 15 times for 36 yards and one touchdown.  Trent Mofield completed nine of 16 passes for 111 yards.  Austin Oppel caught six passes for 63 yards.  Mitchell Dozier added one reception for 30 yards.  Austin Oppel returned one kickoff for 26 yards.  Myron Page led the defense with six solo and five assisted tackles.  JT Godsey added four solo and four assisted tackles and intercepted a pass he returned five yards.  JJ Richardson recorded four solo and two assisted tackles and intercepted two passes he returned for a total of 45 yards.

James Johnson led DeSales’ ground game with 130 yards on 27 carries.  Jayden Scroggin carried the ball four times for 55 yards.  Jayden Scroggin completed seven of 19 passes for 83 yards and a touchdown with three interceptions.  Demarcus Avery caught five passes for 68 yards and a touchdown.  Derek Hollenkamp led the defense with nine solo and two assisted tackles.  Demetri Scott added three solo and three assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.

Lexington Christian Academy rolled up 452 yards of total offense and Paintsville was guilty of five turnovers in a 35-7 victory.  Lexington Christian Academy recorded 22 first downs and 452 yards of total offense.  The Eagles were penalized 10 times for 100 yards.  Paintsville recorded 19 first downs and 263 yards of total offense.  The Tigers were penalized three times for 30 yards, lost two fumbles, and had three passes intercepted.

Jeffrey Selby led LCA’s ground game with 69 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.  Xavier Brown carried the ball 10 times for 36 yards.  Thomas White added 28 yards on six carries.  Dearious Smith carried the ball once for 24 yards.  Jayden Barnhardt completed 21 of 35 passes for 299 yards and three touchdowns.  Dearious Smith caught 13 passes for 237 yards and three touchdowns.  Will Venon added four receptions for 28 yards.  Jeffrey Selby caught three passes for 24 yards.  Jeffrey Selby led the defense with five solo and two assisted tackles and intercepted two passes.  Mattie Lebryk added three solo and five assisted tackles.  Will Vernon recorded five solo and one assisted tackles.  Elijah Hammond added four solo and two assisted tackles and returned an interception for a touchdown.  Andrew Long recorded three solo and four assisted tackles with 3.5 of his tackles resulting in losses.

Zach Thompson led Paintsville’s ground game with 32 yards on 15 carries.  Justin Ramey carried the ball five times for 27 yards.  Jake Hyden completed 18 of 38 passes for 189 yards with three interceptions.  Jonah Porter caught eight passes for 91 yards.  Nick Keeton added five receptions for 82 yards.  Luke Hyden led the defense with five solo and seven assisted tackles.  Jaylyn Allen added six solo and two assisted tackles.  Devin Hall recorded six solo and one assisted tackles.

Bardstown defeated Anderson County by a score of 48-14.  Bardstown recorded 13 first downs and 375 yards of total offense.  They were penalized seven times for 61 yards.  Anderson County recorded 11 first downs and 236 yards of total offense.  The Bearcats were penalized four times for 39 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted. 

LaDarion Montgomery led Bardstown’s ground game with 138 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries.  Frank Burton carried the ball five times for 18 yards and a touchdown.  Tereylin Calbert and Brady Clark each scored a touchdown on the ground.  Brady Clark completed 11 of 14 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns.  Tereylin Calbert caught three passes for 109 yards and a touchdown.  Jase Phillips added three receptions for 42 yards.  JaREL Montgomery caught two passes for 37 yards and a touchdown.  Tereylin Calbert returned one punt for 15 yards.  Isaac Kiser led the defense with six solo and four assisted tackles.  Jeremy Henson added five solo and three assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling four yards, recovered a fumble he returned for 27 yards and a touchdown and intercepted a pass.  Gray Clark recorded four solo and five assisted tackles.  Kevonte Mason added four solo tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 28 yards.

Madison Central came into this game with key injuries suffered last week (QB Canon Scenters and DB Deashon Gowdey) and was dominated by Southwestern in a 37-6 loss which left the Indians with a 1-9 recording going into the playoffs.  Southwestern recorded 14 first downs and 313 yards of total offense.  The Warriors were penalized eight times for 74 yards.  Madison Central recorded 11 first downs and 151 yards of total offense.  The Indians were penalized three times for 35 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Tanner Wright led Southwestern’s ground game with 121 yards and two touchdowns on five carries.  Chase Doan carried the ball nine times for 45 yards and a touchdown.  Austin Barnes added 19 yards and a touchdown on four carries.  Blake Burton completed nine of 14 passes for 122 yards and one touchdown.  Maison Hibbard caught three passes for 74 yards and a touchdown.  Kenny Robinson led the defense with five solo and three assisted tackles.  Rowan Pennington added five solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a one yard loss.  Cameron Pierce recorded five solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a 10 yard loss.  Giddeon Brainard added four solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 11 yards and recovered a fumble.  Xavier Streeter chipped in with one solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a 27 yard loss.

Adrien Parks led Madison Central’s ground game with 66 yards on 18 carries.  Joe Burton carried the ball 18 times for 35 yards.  Ashton Hulberg added 29 yards on four carries.  Nate Storie completed six of 12 passes for 45 yards and one touchdown with one interception.  Ashton Hulberg caught five passes for 41 yards.  Zach Holbrook caught a four yard touchdown pass.  Zach Holbrook returned two kickoffs for 39 yards with a long return of 25 yards.  Sawyer Cruse led the defense with two solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a four yard loss.  Brayden Prewitt added two solo and three assisted tackles.

Jayden Farmer led Ballard’s ground game with 225 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries.  Kenton Jackson carried the ball 10 times for 68 yards and a touchdown.  Larry Cummings completed four of eight passes for 52 yards with one interception.  Chaunte Marrero caught two passes for 28 yards.  Josh Minkens Jr. added one reception for 15 yards.  J. Thompson led the defense with seven solo and two assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 12 yards.  Antney Frazier added five solo and one assisted tackles.  Braydon Gates recorded three solo and one assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 11 yards.

DJ VanHorn led Henry Clay’s ground game with 81 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries.  DJ VanHorn completed 10 of 15 passes for 110 yards.  Ashton Foos caught five passes for 47 yards.  Preston Stacy added two receptions for 36 yards.  Jakobi Godfrey also caught two passes for 25 yards.  William Webb led the defense with four solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a two yard loss and intercepted a pass.  Kobie Neal added three solo and two assisted tackles.  Trayce Clay recorded three solo and one assisted tackles.  Marcus Williams recovered a fumble.

Paul Laurence Dunbar trailed 21-0 at halftime but roared back in the second half to defeat Bryan Station 36-27 to improve to 6-4 for the season.  Dunbar recorded 16 first downs and 282 yards of total offense.  The Bulldogs were penalized eight times for 62 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.  Bryan Station recorded 16 first downs and 278 yards of total offense.  The Defenders were penalized six times for 53 yards, lost four fumbles, and had two passes intercepted.

Jacob Greene led Dunbar’s ground game with 105 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries.  Jake Smith completed 12 of 25 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.  Jamarcus Robinson caught seven passes for 75 yards and a touchdown.  Tyre Garrard added three receptions for 41 yards.  Frank Illunga caught a 44 yard touchdown pass.  Mario Paul returned three kickoffs for 61 yards with a long return of 29 yards.  John Law led the defense with seven solo tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling nine yards.  Mario Paul added six solo tackles and intercepted a pass he returned nine yards.  Josiah Brown recorded four solo tackles and scored on a 45 yard interception return.  Tyler Johnson also recorded four solo tackles and recovered two fumbles he returned for a total of 39 yards with one return for 31 yards and a touchdown.  Frank Illunga and Christian Skinker each recovered a fumble.

Joey Bond led Bryan Station’s ground game with 164 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries.  Amodeus Taylor carried the ball 11 times for 88 yards and a touchdown.  Terrick Mulder completed six of 12 passes for 71 yards with two interceptions.  Damin Green caught three passes for 48 yards.  Vincent Bond returned one kickoff for 55 yards.  Bryson Fields led the defense with eight solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a five yard loss.  George Taul added four solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a six yard loss.  Devan Taul recorded three solo tackles, recovered a fumble, and intercepted a pass he returned 15 yards.

Tates Creek rolled up 596 yards of total offense to defeat an injury depleted Pulaski County team by a score of 38-7.  The Maroons did not have an answer for Tates Creek’s high octane passing game as the Commodores threw for 537 yards and five touchdowns.  Tates Creek recorded 20 first downs and 596 yards of total offense.  The Commodores were penalized nine times for 91 yards and lost a fumble.  Pulaski County recorded nine first downs and 132 yards of total offense.  The Maroons were penalized three times for 37 yards and had two passes intercepted.

Aliyon Blevins led Tates Creek’s ground game with 45 yards on nine carries.  Cion Townsend carried the ball four times for 26 yards.  Luke Duby completed 27 of 40 passes for 537 yards and five touchdowns.  Miles Thomas caught seven passes for 265 yards and two touchdowns.  Elliot Bryant added five receptions for 95 yards and two touchdowns.  Matthew Underwood caught two passes for 77 yards and a touchdown.  Delarisco Jones led the defense with four solo and two assisted tackles.  Isaiah McFarland added three solo and four assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling nine yards.  JT Acosta recorded four solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling nine yards and intercepted a pass he returned eight yards.  Phillip Smith also recorded four solo and one assisted tackles.  Kobe Middleton also intercepted a pass.

Kaleb Adams led Pulaski County’s ground game with 47 yards on 13 carries.  Kaleb Adams completed seven of 21 passes for 64 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions.  Evan Mercer returned three kickoffs for 79 yards with a long return of 49 yards.  Mercer returned two punts for 18 yards.  Konner Hargis led the defense with six solo and two assisted tackles with five of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 21 yards.  Layton Abbott added five solo tackles.  Devin Tolson recovered a fumble.

This was an anticipated matchup with Frederick Douglass entering the game with a 9-0 record with eight shutouts in nine games and only surrendering 14 points all season.  Lexington Catholic was 6-4 and led by University of Kentucky bound QB Beau Allen who has put up some gaudy numbers this season.  Frederick Douglass raced out to a 35-10 late in the third quarter on their way to a 42-31 victory over Lexington Catholic.  Frederick Douglass recorded 19 first downs and 414 yards of total offense.  The Broncos were penalized nine times for 79 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.  Lexington Catholic recorded 23 first downs and 363 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized three times for 29 yards and had two passes intercepted.

Darius Neal led Douglass’ ground game with 98 yards and two touchdowns on six carries.  Devin Neal carried the ball 13 times for 93 yards and a touchdown.  Josh McClurg added 51 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.  Dane Key carried the ball twice for 14 yards and a touchdown.  Josh McClurg completed six of 10 passes for 135 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Devin Neal caught three passes for 73 yards and a touchdown.  Dane Key added one reception for 51 yards.  Cameron Dunn returned three kickoffs for 69 yards with a long return of 30 yards.  RaMarcus Thompson led the defense with six solo and four assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards and intercepted a pass he returned for 23 yards.  Devin Neal added seven solo tackles.  Bryce Higgins recorded four solo and three assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 12 yards.  Jaylin Bybee chipped in with four solo and two assisted tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 13 yards.  Walker Parks recorded two solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 19 yards.

Ryan Nichols led Lexington Catholic’s ground game with 28 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.  Beau Allen completed 28 of 44 passes for 286 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions.  Jackson Corbett caught 10 passes for 83 yards.  Blake Busson added six receptions for 68 yards.  Jack Monday caught five passes for 44 yards.  John Gohmann added two receptions for 29 yards and a touchdown.  Dylan Bracken returned four kickoffs for 102 yards with a long return of 30 yards.  Jackson Klein led the defense with six solo and two assisted tackles.  Kiwanga Mafuta added four solo and three assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 14 yards.  Ryan Mattingly intercepted a pass and Dylan Bracken recovered a fumble.
