Sacred Heart Academy defeated Scott by a score of 70-55.  Sacred Heart Academy shot 59.6% from the field including five of 12 from the three point line.  The Valkyries connected on nine of 14 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 15 Scott turnovers.  Scott shot 36.8% from the field including one of 13 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Eagles connected on 12 of 15 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 25 Sacred Heart Academy turnovers.

Kristen Clemons led Sacred Heart Academy with 26 points, 12 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Ashlee Harris added 18 points including three three point baskets, three rebounds, four assists, and four steals.  Destinee Marshall recorded 10 points including two three point baskets, five assists, and three steals.  Josie Gilvin added five points, six rebounds, and seven assists.

Christian Academy of Louisville raced out to a 20-13 first quarter led but Elizabethtown outscored CAL 63-19 the rest of the game to earn a 76-39 victory.  Elizabethtown shot 48.1% from the field including six of 12 from the three point line.  The Lady Panthers connected on 18 of 23 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 15 CAL turnovers.  CAL shot 25.4% from the field including five of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Centurions connected on four of 10 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored nine points off 12 Elizabethtown turnovers.

Whitney Hay led Elizabethtown with 22 points including five three point baskets, three rebounds, and three steals.  6-1 8^th Grade Xaveria Smalley added 14 points, eight rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Leikyn Walker recorded 13 points.  Ellie Taylor chipped in with 11 points, five rebounds, seven assists, and two blocked shots.  Sydney Clark added nine points, 15 rebounds, and five assists.

Mia Beam led Cal with 11 points.  Shelby Calhoun added 10 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and two blocked shots.  Arina Khlopkova recorded eight points, four rebounds, and two assists.

Lafayette defeated Western Hills by a score of 65-42.  Lafayette shot 51% from the field including seven of 1 from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on six of nine free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 16 Western Hills turnovers.  Western Hills shot 32.7% from the field including three of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Wolverines connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 19 Lafayette turnovers.

Lindi DeBilzan led Lafayette with 25 points including five three point baskets, eight rebounds, seven assists, two blocked shots, and three steals.  Macey Goff added 18 points and seven rebounds.  Olivia Cathers recorded eight points and five rebounds.  Anaya Brown added six points, nine rebounds, and six assists.

Rowan County led 41-32 in the third quarter but Lexington Catholic rallied in the final quarter to earn a 59-55 victory.  The score was tied twice and there were three lead changes in the game.  Lexington Catholic shot 44.7% from the field including four of 12 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Knights connected on 13 of 16 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored seven points off 13 Rowan County turnovers.  Rowan County shot 33.3% from the field including six of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Vikings connected on nine of 12 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 20 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Jay Ballard led Lexington Catholic with 20 points including three three point baskets, three rebounds, and two steals.  5-8 So. Ariel West added 12 points including six of six free throws and four rebounds.  Chloe Treece recorded 11 points and four blocked shots.  Farah Weldon chipped in with eight points, six rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Maylo Given pulled down 14 rebounds.

Haven Ford led Rowan County with 18 points including two three point baskets, nine rebounds, five assists, and three steals.  Shelby Ricer added 10 points and three rebounds.  Hailey Rose recorded 10 points and three rebounds.

Bryan Station coach Brian Hall started the following lineup: 5-8 Sr. Kelynn Clay, 5-7 Sr. Kristen McGeachy, 5-8 Sr. Amilleon Black, 5-0 So. Tori Godoy, and 5-3 Sr. Stephanie Bueno.  Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey countered with 5-10 Jr. Jekauri McKeithen, 5-7 Jr. Taleya Todd, 5-9 Sr. Logan Hudson, 5-6 Sr. Kelsey Powell, and 5-6 Sr. Madison Barnard.

Tori Godoy hit a runner in the lane with less than 10 seconds remaining on the clock to give Bryan Station a 54-53 victory over Madison Central.  However the drama was far from over.  Madison Central rapidly advanced the ball up the floor and took the ball hard to the rim.  There appeared to be a lot of contact but nothing was called and the ball was knocked loose and lay tantalizingly in the lane with nobody able to gain possession as time expired.  The referees exited the floor immediately and while the Madison Central coaches were visibly upset the comment I overheard was that there should have been a call, either blocking or charging.  From my vantage point there was probably contact but I could not have made the correct call.  However it takes nothing away from an intense, hard played game with six ties and 17 lead changes.  Madison Central had a six point lead in the final quarter but was not able to shut down Bryan Station’s three point attack (10 three point baskets).

Bryan Station shot 33.3% from the field including 10 of 32 from the three point line.  The Lady Defenders connected on four of 10 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 19 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 46.9% from the field including one of seven from beyond the arc.  The Lady Indians connected on six of 15 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 10 Bryan Station turnovers.

Kelynn Clay (why doesn’t she get more publicity?) led Bryan Station with 19 points including four three point baskets, three rebounds, and four steals.  Tori Godoy added nine points, five rebounds, and four assists.  Stephanie Bueno also scored nine points on three three point baskets and four assists.  5-7 Fr. Tania Woodall recorded six points on two three point baskets, four assists, and two steals.  Amilleon Black pulled down 11 rebounds.

Taleya Todd led Madison Central tonight with 18 points, six rebounds, three assists, two blocked shots, and three steals.  Todd was only charged with four turnovers despite logging 32 minutes and having the ball in her hands for a lot of time.  Jekauri McKeithen (the double-double machine) added 18 points and 12 rebounds.  Madison Barnard recorded seven points, four rebounds, three assists, and three steals.  Kelsey Powell chipped in with four points, five rebounds, and three assists.  Logan Hudson made her presence felt in the paint with four points, eight rebounds, and two blocked shots.

Delaney Enlow led Woodford County with 13 points and 16 rebounds.  Kayla Harlow added nine points and 12 rebounds.  Nia Jaco recorded eight points and eight rebounds.  Abbie Hudson also scored eight points.  Ellie Dougherty added seven points, five rebounds, two assists, and six steals.

Brooklynn Miles.  Southwestern coach Stephen D. Butcher II countered with 5-9 Sr. Kallie Sheron, 5-8 Jr. Kennedy Harris, 5-11 Jr. Regi Cundiff, 5-4 Jr. Jenna Wood, and 5-6 So. Alexa Smiddy.

Southwestern led by 15 points late in the third quarter but Franklin County outscored the Warriors 20-7 in the final quarter to earn a 64-63 come-from-behind victory over Southwestern.  Franklin County ran the clock down and Patience Laster hit what proved to be the winning basket with 15 seconds remaining on the clock.  Southwestern had one last opportunity but could not get the final shot to fall.

Franklin County shot 54.3% from the field including seven of 15 from the three point line.  The Lady Flyers connected on seven of nine free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and committed 10 turnovers.  Southwestern shot 44.7% from the field including seven of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Warriors connected on 14 of 32 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and committed eight turnovers.

Brooklynn Miles led Franklin County with 28 points including two three point baskets, six rebounds, and eight assists.  Patience Laster added 13 points and three rebounds.  Shannon Brunette recorded 12 points on four three point baskets. 

Regi Cundiff led Southwestern with 18 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Alexa Smiddy added 13 points including three three point baskets and three rebounds.  Kallie Sheron recorded 10 points and five rebounds.
