University Heights coach Grant Shouse started the following lineup: 6-1 Sr. Drew McGowan, 5-9 So. DJ Quarles, 6-4 Sr. Taquan Hollowell, 5-9 So. William Bryan, and 6-1 Sr. KyKy Tandy. Lexington Christian Academy coach Nate Valentine countered with 6-2 Sr. Will Hacker, 6-1 Sr. Matthew Johnson, 6-7 Sr. Kyle Rode, 5-10 Sr. Baylor Brown, and 6-0 Sr. Pearce Dalton.
University Heights pulled away in the final quarter to defeat Lexington Christian Academy by a score of 52-40. The score was tied five times and there were five lead changes in the game. University Heights shot 47.5% from the field including six of 18 from the three point line. The Blazers connected on eight of 11 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 10 points off seven LCA turnovers. LCA shot 36.2% from the field including four of 16 from beyond the arc. The Eagles connected on two of four free throws, pulled down 20 rebounds, and scored nine points off 13 University Heights turnovers.
Drew McGowan led University Heights with 15 points including three three point baskets, nine rebounds, three assists, and two steals. KyKy Tandy added 14 points including two three point baskets, 10 rebounds, and two assists. Taquan Hollowell recorded 14 points, seven rebounds, and two blocked shots. DJ Quarles dished out six assists.
Kyle Rode led Lexington Christian Academy with 20 points, 14 rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Baylor Brown added 12 points including two three point baskets and three steals.
