Farah Weldon.  Tates Creek coach Matt Yates countered with 5-8 Fr. Caty Armishaw, 5-7 Jr. Lateya Wilson, 5-8 Jr. Yasmeen Shalash, 5-2 Fr. Alisce Lyvers, and 5-8 Fr. Joyce Mukalamusi.

 

Tates Creek trailed by 11 points with three minutes left in the third quarter but rallied to defeat Lexington Catholic by a score of 48-41.  Tates Creek controlled the boards in the second half and held a rebound average of 47-29 for the game and enjoyed an 18-2 advantage in second chance points.  Tates Creek shot 33.3% from the field including four of 17 from the three point line.  The Lady Commodores connected on 10 of 16 free throws and scored 14 points off 11 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 26.9% from the field including four of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Knights connected on nine of 15 free throws and scored 14 points off 17 Tates Creek turnovers.

 

Caty Armishaw led Tates Creek with 18 points including four three point baskets, 12 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Lateya Wilson added eight points, four rebounds, and two steals.  Alisce Lyvers chipped in with eight points, five rebounds, and five assists.  Joyce Mukalamusi recorded seven points, 11 rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

 

Jay Ballard led Lexington Catholic with eight points, eight rebounds, and four assists.  Farah Weldon added eight points and two steals.

Lafayette pulled away in the second half to defeat Bryan Station by a score of 72-64.  There were eight lead changes and six ties in this game.  Lafayette shot 50.9% from the field including four of 15 from the three point line.  The Generals connected on 12 of 21 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 10 Bryan Station turnovers.  Bryan Station shot 36.2% from the field including 10 of 23 from beyond the arc.  The Defenders connected on 12 of 16 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 14 Lafayette turnovers.

 

Ray Surratt led Lafayette with 21 points, 17 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Caleb True added 12 points including seven of eight free throws and four assists.  Daniel Kinley recorded 12 points including two three point baskets.

Lafayette led 48-46 after three quarters but pulled away in the final quarter but pulled away in the final quarter to defeat Dunbar by a score of 69-55.  The score was tied six ties and there were two lead changes in the game.  Dunbar did not have an answer for the 1-2 combination of Lindi DeBilzan and Macey Goff who combined for 50 points and 14 rebounds.

 

Lafayette shot 50% from the field including two of four from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on 17 of 25 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 30 points off 20 Dunbar turnovers.  Dunbar shot 32.1% from the field including eight of 23 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on 11 of 18 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 16 Lafayette turnovers.

 

Lindi DeBilzan led Lafayette with 32 points including two three point baskets, three rebounds, four assists, two blocked shots, and three steals.  Macey Goff added 18 points including eight of 10 free throws, 11 rebounds, four assists, and four steals.  Anaya Brown recorded seven points, four rebounds, and three blocked shots.

Scott County dominated tonight in an 85-35 victory over Madison Central.  Scott County shot 44% from the field including eight of 32 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on three of nine free throws, pulled down 54 rebounds, and scored 29 points off 23 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 22.4% from the field including four of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Indians connected on five of eight free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored five points off four Scott County turnovers.

 

Morgan DeFoor led Scott County with 28 points including four three point baskets, four rebounds, five assists, and four steals.  Kenady Tompkins added 14 points, 11 rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Maaliya Owens recorded 10 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and five steals.  Malea Williams chipped in with eight points, eight rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Juliette Smith added six points and six rebounds and scored her 1,000th point as a Lady Cardinal tonight.

Ben Johnson.  Lexington Christian Academy countered with 6-2 Sr. Will Hacker, 6-1 Sr. Matthew Johnson, 6-7 Sr. Kyle Rode, 5-10 Sr. Baylor Brown, and 6-0 Sr. Pearce Dalton.

 

Lexington Catholic rallied to defeat Lexington Christian Academy in overtime by a score of 54-49.  LCA had a two point lead late in regulation but missed two free throws and Ben Johnson hit a lay up in the final seconds to force overtime.  Johnson did not score until the final quarter tonight.  There were six ties and eight leaders in the game.  It was a game of contrasting styles and results tonight as LCA held a 30-18 advantage in three point points while Lexington Catholic held a 24-8 advantage on points in the paint.

 

Lexington Catholic shot 42.2% from the field including six of 19 from the three point line.  The Knights connected on 10 of 13 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 16 LCA turnovers.  LCA shot 41.5% from the field including 10 of 29 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on five of 12 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 12 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

 

6-4 Jr. Luke Wedding led Lexington Catholic with 17 points including five three point baskets and six rebounds.  Brice Scott added 10 points, 10 rebounds, and three steals.  Ben Johnson recorded nine points and five rebounds.  Patrick Geoghegan also scored nine points.

 

Will Hacker led LCA with 22 points including six three point baskets.  Kyle Rode added 11 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists.  Pearce Dalton recorded eight points and five rebounds.

5-8 Jr. Gabby Gregory led Austin Peay with 20 points including five three point baskets in only 12 minutes of playing time.  Keisha Gregory added 19 points including three three point baskets.  Arielle Gonzalez-Varner recorded 16 points and four rebounds.  Brandi Ferby chipped in with 11 points, three assists, and three steals.  5-11 Jr. Nieja Crawford added 10 points and 11 rebounds.  Brianah Ferby recorded 10 points, four rebounds, and four steals.

 

Shay Solomon led Eastern Kentucky with 23 points, five rebounds, and four assists.  Bria Bass added 13 points, nine rebounds, and two assists.  Catie Kaifes recorded 10 points, 10 rebounds, and three assists.  Hailey McCoy chipped in with five points and eight rebounds.
