Both teams came into this game undefeated at 6-0 and Christian Academy of Louisville improves to 7-0 with a 21-10 victory over DeSales.  CAL utilized a balanced offense and a big night by Brandt Babin (136 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries) to earn the victory.  DeSales had some key injuries including Darren Hollenkamp and Antione Johnson that limited their play tonight.  CAL recorded 16 first downs and 296 yards of total offense.  The Centurions were penalized 13 times for 165 yards.  DeSales recorded 15 first downs and 236 yards of total offense.  The Colts were penalized five times for 55 yards and lost two fumbles.

Brandt Babin led CAL’s ground game with 136 yards and two touchdowns on 20 carries.  Tony Sabatino completed 13 of 24 passes for 138 yards and one touchdown.  Milton Wright caught six passes for 31 yards.  Nathan Clark added four receptions for 34 yards.  Luke Paulson added two receptions for 19 yards anda touchdown.  James Leeper caught one pass for 58 yards.  Milton Wright returned one kickoff for 25 yards.  Jack Payne led the defense with three solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a 12 yard loss.  Braeden Babin and Milton Wright each recorded two solo tackles.  Austin Collins returned a fumble.

Savion Stivers led DeSales’ ground game with 32 yards on two carries.  Carlos Ordway carried the ball eight times for 23 yards.  Aaron Pfaadt completed 10 of 20 passes for 153 yards and one touchdown.  Demetri Scott caught three passes for 45 yards.  Jayden Scroggin added two receptions for 40 yards and a touchdown.  Savion Stivers returned two kickoffs for 44 yards with a long return of 23 yards.  Amos Griffith led the defense with four solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a two yard loss.  Lance Weiter added three solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a one yard loss.

George Rogers Clark defeated Lafayette by a score of 26-7.  George Rogers Clark held Lafayette to five first downs and -28 yards of total offense, recovered two fumbles, and intercepted a pass.  George Rogers Clark recorded 12 first downs and 268 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized seven times for 75 yards and lost a fumble.  Lafayette was penalized nine times for 90 yards.

Nitavius Thomas led GRC’s ground game with 150 yards and one touchdown on 23 carries.  Azariah Israel carried the ball seven times for 49 yards.  Will Henry completed 10 of 15 passes for 73 yards and two touchdowns.  Dawson Gay caught three passes for 19 yards.  Farris Shakadih added two receptions for 24 yards and a touchdown.   Chase Taulbee caught two passes for 12 yards and a touchdown.  Jeremiah Mundy-Llo returned three punts for 28 yards with a long return of 14 yards.  Hagan Harrison returned two punts for 31 yards with a long return of 19 yards.  Azariah Israel returned one kickoff for 31 yards.  Jehdon Jenkins led the defense with four solo and one assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 21 yards.  Aquavion Lewis added three solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 14 yards.  Landon Langfels recorded three solo and two assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 25 yards.  Hunter Dunn recorded one solo and two assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 12 yards and recovered a fumble.  Zion Israel intercepted a pass.

George Anderson led Lafayette’s ground game with 11 yards on two carries.  Quinton Turner completed five of 16 passes for 29 yards with one interception.  TeAndre Newcomb completed one of five passes for four yards.  Noah Curtsinger caught three passes for 28 yards.  Jaylen Lawson returned two kickoffs for 99 yards with a long return of 61 yards.  Jaylen Lawson led the defense with five solo and 11 assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards.  Austin Blake added four solo and four assisted tackles.  Austin Anderson recovered a fumble.

Anderson County rolled up 501 yards of total offense in a 49-19 victory over Woodford County.  Anderson County recorded 20 first downs and 501 yards of total offense.  The Bearcats were penalized seven times for 117 yards and lost a fumble.  Woodford County recorded seven first downs and 250 yards of total offense.  The Yellow Jackets were penalized seven times for 81 yards.

Charles Collins led Anderson County’s ground game with 153 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries.  Brennon Maxberry added 90 yards on 15 carries.  Jagger Gillis carried the ball four times for 36 yards and a touchdown.  Kynan Russell added 24 yards and a touchdown on five carries.  Jagger Gillis completed five of eight passes for 174 yards and three touchdowns.  Charles Collins caught two passes for 85 yards and a touchdown.  Wesley Ruehrwein added one reception for 58 yards and a touchdown.  Brennon Maxberry added a 23 yard touchdown reception.  Kynan Russell returned two kickoffs for 37 yards with a long return of 22 yards.  Justin Wilhoit led the defense with five solo tackles.  Colton Cornish added four solo and two assisted tackles.  Darion Dearinger recorded three solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in an 11 yard pass.  Ryan Stratton added two solo tackles that resulted in losses totaling six yards.

Leo Guadagni led Woodford County’s ground game with 76 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries.  Leo Guadagni completed seven of 20 passes for 162 yards and a touchdown.  Skyelar Johnson caught two passes for 49 yards.  Sidney Mudd caught one pass for 59 yards.  JD Alexander caught a four yard touchdown pass.  Leo Guadagni returned six kickoffs for 78 yards with a long return of 32 yards.  C. Humphreys led the defense with eight solo tackles.  Skyelar Johnson also recorded eight solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a loss of six yards and recovered a fumble.  JD Alexander added three solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 17 yards.

This was a game of runs tonight as Covington Catholic defeated Bishop Chatard by a score of 52-36.  Covington Catholic held a 31-7 lead with 1:53 remaining in the first half.  Bishop Chatard scored two quick touchdowns to only trail 31-21 at halftime.  Bishop Chatard cut the deficit to three; 31-28 with 11:15 remaining in the third quarter.  Covington Catholic regained the momentum and finished the game on a 21-8 run.  This game had plenty of offensive fireworks as the teams combined for 88 points, 41 first downs, and 1007 yards of total offense.  Both teams dialed long distance frequently tonight as Covington Catholic scored on long plays of 68, 64, 34, and 76 yards while Bishop Chatard answered with scoring plays of 70, 73, and 30 yards. 

Covington Catholic recorded 23 first downs and 580 yards of total offense.  The Colonels were penalized eight times for 74 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.  Bishop Chatard recorded 18 first downs and 427 yards of total offense.  They were penalized twice for 31 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.

Casey McGinness led Covington Catholic’s ground game with 158 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries.  Caleb Jacob completed 19 of 30 passes for 385 yards and three touchdowns and one interception.  Jack Coldiron caught four passes for 145 yards and a touchdown.  Michael Mayer added four receptions for 129 yards and two touchdowns.  J. Schuh caught two passes for 43 yards.  W. Schwartz led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackles.  J. Blank also recorded six solo and one assisted tackles.  Michael Mayer added five solo and two assisted tackles and scored on a 76 yard interception return.  A. Shelton intercepted a pass and R. Halverstadt recovered a fumble.

T. Harrison led Bishop Chatard’s ground game with 38 yards on two carries.  D. Taylor carried the ball 12 times for 37 yards.  M. Nondorf completed 21 of 39 passes for 365 yards and five touchdowns with two interceptions.  A. Sowinski caught 10 passes for 253 yards and three touchdowns.  J. Marsella added seven receptions for 71 yards and two touchdowns.  E. Osborn returned five kickoffs for 103 yards with a long return of 23 yards.  R. Cheek led the defense with 10 solo tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 11 yards.  J. Sherby added nine solo and one assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.  J. Calvert recorded eight solo tackles.  W. Schrader added six solo tackles and recovered a fumble.

Lexington Catholic trailed 21-7 after the first quarter but rallied to earn a 49-42 come-from-behind victory over Western Hills in a high scoring shootout.  Lexington Catholic recorded 24 first downs and 474 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized three times for 24 yards, lost three fumbles, and had one pass intercepted.  Western Hills recorded 19 first downs and 408 yards of total offense.  The Wolverines were penalized eight times for 52 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Beau Allen led Lexington Catholic’s ground game with 125 yards and three touchdowns on 10 carries.  Ryan Nichols carried the ball 13 times for 88 yards and a touchdown.  Beau Allen completed 16 of 21 passes for 203 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Jackson Corbett caught four passes for 59 yards.  Luke Powell added four receptions for 52 yards and a touchdown.  Nathan Schnurr caught three passes for 42 yards.  Trenton Neuer returned four kickoffs for 95 yards with a long return of 42 yards.  Dylan Bracken returned one kickoff for 26 yards.  Brennan Emnett led the defense with five solo and three assisted tackles.  C. Coulter added four solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a three yard loss.  Henry Holthaus recorded four solo and two assisted tackles.  Nathan Schnurr scored on a nine yard interception return.

Wandale Robinson led Western Hills’ ground game with 190 yards and four touchdowns on 24 carries.  Nate Johnson carried the ball five times for 34 yards.  Nate Johnson completed nine of 16 passes for 129 yards and one touchdown.  Wandale Robinson completed four of five passes for 57 yards with one interception.  Wandale Robinson caught five passes for 34 yards.  Nate Johnson added four receptions for 57 yards.  Logan Bell added two receptions for 50 yards.  Jason Rogers caught a 31 yard touchdown pass.  Wandale Robinson returned two kickoffs for 35 yards with a long return of 23 yards.  Wandale Robinson led the defense with eight solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a three yard loss and scored on a 96 yard fumble recovery return.  Will Arflack added seven solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards.  Jacob Fields recovered a fumble and Carlos Gonzalez intercepted a pass.

Frederick Douglass improved their record to 8-0 with a 28-10 victory over Scott County.  Douglass utilized a balanced attack tonight (180 yards on the ground with two touchdowns and 193 yards and two touchdowns through the air) to earn the victory.  Scott County was without the services of Sam Daniel and Glenn Covington tonight.  Frederick Douglass recorded 16 first downs and 373 yards of total offense.  The Broncos were penalized eight times for 46 yards and had two passes intercepted.  Scott County recorded 20 first downs and 299 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized six times for 49 yards and lost a fumble.

Damarco Fishback led Douglass’ ground game with 167 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries.  Devin Neal carried the ball twice for 11 yards and a touchdown.  Cameron Jones completed 10 of 17 passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns with two interceptions.  Dekel Crowdus caught five passes for 59 yards and a touchdown.  Haiden Hunt caught one pass for 77 yards and a touchdown.  Devin Neal led the defense with 12 solo and five assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling four yards.  R. Thompson added five solo and eight assisted tackles.  Gabe Hilyard recorded seven solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a nine yard loss.  J. Coffman added five solo and four assisted tackles.  Jonathan Lott recovered a fumble.

Austin Barnett led Scott County’s ground attack with 116 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries.  Bronson Brown carried the ball 14 times for 95 yards.  Montago Jones added 60 yards on seven carries.  Cade McKee completed one of six passes for 16 yards.  Micah McGlave caught one pass for 16 yards.  Austin Barnett returned four kickoffs for 113 yards including a long return of 54 yards.  Berk Watts led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a one yard loss.  Michael King added three solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a five yard loss.  Matt Fannin and Tasian Stakelin each intercepted a pass.

Madison Central utilized a strong ground game (277 yards and three touchdowns on 46 carries) to defeat Tates Creek 33-18 in a game that was interrupted by close to an hour lightning delay.  Madison Central recorded 19 first downs and 307 yards of total offense.  The Indians were penalized seven times for 61 yards.  Tates Creek recorded 12 first downs and 229 yards of total offense.  The Commodores were penalized 13 times for 120 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Freddie Chenault led the Madison Central ground game with 122 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries.  Ethan Hahn carried the ball 11 times for 99 yards.  Derrick Miller added 54 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.  Derrick Miller completed two of 10 passes for 30 yards and a touchdown.  Cody Dillon caught a 16 yard touchdown pass.  Ben Snapp caught one pass for 14 yards.  Jackson Juett led the defense with five solo and five assisted tackles.  Bennie Hurt added two solo and four assisted tackles.  Ben Snapp recorded four solo tackles and intercepted a pass.  Delsin Tsotigh recovered a fumble.

Luke Duby led Tates Creek’s ground game with 84 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.  Luke Duby completed 14 of 32 passes for 113 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.  Mikaleb Coffey caught six passes for 51 yards.  Miles Thomas caught four passes for 30 yards and two touchdowns.  Keshawn Herron returned two kickoffs for 42 yards with a long return of 33 yards.  Elliot Bryant returned one kickoff for 36 yards.  JD Hawkins led the defense with three solo and nine assisted tackles.  Del Jones added two solo and seven assisted tackles.  Marcus Bosley recorded three solo and three assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards.

Henry Clay defeated Paul Laurence Dunbar 41-9 in another rainy, stormy football night in the Bluegrass.  Henry Clay recorded nine first downs and 198 yards of total offense.  The Blue Devils were penalized once for five yards, lost three fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.  Paul Laurence Dunbar recorded 14 first downs and 249 yards of total offense.  The Bulldogs were penalized five times for 48 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.  Henry Clay ran 31 offensive plays compared to 65 for Paul Laurence Dunbar. 

Langston Jackson led Henry Clay’s ground game with 88 yards on seven carries.  DJ VanHorn carried the ball five times for 19 yards and a touchdown.  Dorien Hardin added 11 yards and a touchdown on four carries.  DJ VanHorn completed six of 10 passes for 53 yards with one interception.  Ramond Jackson caught two passes for 10 yards.  Chris Dabney added one reception for 28 yards.  Langston Jackson returned one punt for 34 yards, returned one kickoff 87 yards for a touchdown, and scored on a 54 yard interception return.  Graham Wald kicked two field goals of 24 and 26 yards, converted on five of five extra point attempts, and averaged 58.1 on seven kickoffs with three touchbacks.  Ramond Jackson led the defense with five solo and four assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.  William Webb added four solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a two yard loss.  Chris Dabney recorded two solo and five assisted tackles and scored on a 27 yard fumble recovery.  Langston Jackson added three solo tackles and scored on a 54 yard interception return.

Mitchell Joseph led Dunbar’s ground game with 112 yards on 23 carries.  Jacob Greene carried the ball twice for 33 yards.  Jake Smith added 17 yards and a touchdown on four carries.  Tanner Cox completed six of 15 passes for 67 yards with one interception.  J. Robinson caught four passes for 35 yards.  J. Robinson returned four kickoffs for 81 yards with a long return of 38 yards.  Howard Jackson led the defense with four solo and two assisted tackles.  Isaac Armstrong added two solo and three assisted tackles.  Tyler Johnson, Guettler-James, and Team were each credited with a fumble recovery and Landon Jackson intercepted a pass he returned 27 yards.

Male raced out to a 57-8 halftime lead on their way to a 57-28 victory over Bryan Station to improve to 8-0 for the season.  Male recorded 16 first downs and 404 yards of total offense.  They were penalized once for 15 yards and had a pass intercepted.  Bryan Station recorded 15 first downs and 352 yards of total offense.  The Defenders were penalized twice for 16 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.

Tony Mosley led Males’ ground game with 53 yards and a touchdown on five carries.  Jaylin Bross carried the ball nine times for 51 yards.  Q. Wright added 35 yards and a touchdown on five carries.  Garrett Dennis completed seven of seven passes for 155 yards and three touchdowns.  Elijah Paris completed two of seven passes for 69 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Cainel Isom caught four passes for 133 yards and two touchdowns.  Michael Warner added three receptions for 42 yards and a touchdown.  G. Edison added two receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown.  Michael Warner scored on a 69 yard punt return.  Warner also returned one kickoff for 32 yards.  Deris Cox led the defense with five solo and two assisted tackles.  Joe Kuerzi added four solo and two assisted tackles and returned an interception 34 yards for a touchdown.  Jayden Rankin recorded four solo and one assisted tackles. 

Amodeus Taylor led Bryan Station’s ground game with 109 yards on 18 carries.  Jalen Burbage carried the ball 12 times for 64 yards and a touchdown.  Jalen Burbage completed 11 of 19 passes for 159 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.  Kendrick Curry caught six passes for 135 yards and two touchdowns.  Dadrien Taylor added two receptions for 11 yards.  DeShawn Starks added two catches for four yards and a touchdown.  Kyran Campbell led the defense with four solo and five assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a three yard loss.  Bryson Fields added three solo and two assisted tackles.  Dennis Abw recorded two solo and one assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.
