The score was tied 14-14 at halftime but Covington Catholic pulled away in the second half for a 35-14 victory over St. Francis Desales.  Covington Catholic recorded 16 first downs and 284 yards of total offense.  The Colonels were penalized seven times for 153 yards, lost a fumble, and had two passes intercepted.  St. Francis Desales recorded 19 first downs and 289 yards of total offense.  The Stallions were penalized 13 times for 121 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.

Casey McGinness led Covington Catholic’s ground game with 198 yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries.  McGinness also became the leading all time career runner in Covington Catholic football history with his effort tonight.  Caleb Jacob completed eight of 17 passes for 88 yards with one touchdown with two interceptions.  Jack Coldiron caught three passes for 56 yards and a touchdown.  Daniel Felix led the defense with nine solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling two yards.  Michael Mayer added eight solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a six yard loss and recovered a fumble.  G. Hemmer recorded five solo and one assisted tackles.  Casey McGinness added one solo tackle and intercepted a pass he returned for 60 yards.  McGinness also saved a sure touchdown with a pass breakup with Covington Catholic clinging to a 21-14 advantage.

R. Godfrey led St. Francis Desales ground game with 24 yards on eight carries.  R. Godfrey completed 20 of 32 passes for 242 yards and one touchdown.  C. Hilleary caught seven passes for 93 yards.  O. Faulkner added six receptions for 81 yards and a touchdown.  A. Sciarroni caught four passes for 48 yards.  R. Robinson returned four kickoffs for 91 yards with a long return of 32 yards.  Q. Quinn led the defense with eight solo tackles and recovered a fumble for a touchdown.  J. Velazquez added six solo tackles.  R. Robinson recorded five solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a three yard loss and intercepted a pass.  J. Ball also recorded five solo tackles.  A. Sciarroni also intercepted a pass.

Lexington Christian Academy pulled away in the second half to defeat Kentucky Country Day by a score of 35-7.  Lexington Christian Academy recorded 25 first downs and 427 yards of total offense.  The Eagles were penalized five times for 60 yards and lost two fumbles.  Kentucky Country Day recorded eight first downs and 115 yards of total offense.  They were penalized four times for 20 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.

Thomas White led LCA’s ground game with 88 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.  Jed Green carried the ball 14 times for 71 yards and a touchdown.  Xavier Brown added 66 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.  Jayden Barnhardt carried the ball 11 times for 49 yards.  Jayden Barnhardt completed 12 of 16 passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns.  Will Vernon caught seven passes for 84 yards.  DeArious Smith added two receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown.  Blane Hardin caught an 18 yard touchdown pass.  Kaleb Bolton led the defense with three solo and six assisted tackles.  Blane Hardin added two solo and six assisted tackles.  Drew Long recorded one solo and six assisted tackles.

Blake Caldwell led KCD’s ground attack with 75 yards on 16 carries.  Luke Russo completed five of 11 passes for 41 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Nick Smith caught three passes for 23 yards and a touchdown.  Dorian Heard added two receptions for 18 yards.  Drew Russell and Jalen Todd each recorded five solo and eight assisted tackles to lead the defense.  Nick Smith added four solo and seven assisted tackles.  Exavier Douglas recorded four solo and six assisted tackles.

Frederick Douglass raced out to a 29-0 first quarter lead on their way to a 49-15 victory over Paul Laurence Dunbar as the Broncos improve to 6-0 for the season.  Frederick Douglass recorded eight first downs and 247 yards of total offense.  The Broncos were penalized 11 times for 96 yards and lost a fumble.  Paul Laurence Dunbar recorded five first downs and 103 yards of total offense.  The Bulldogs were penalized eight times for 51 yards and lost a fumble.

D. Fishback led Frederick Douglass’ ground game with 95 yards and four touchdowns on five carries.  Cameron Jones completed seven of nine passes for 141 yards and two touchdowns.  Haiden Hunt caught three passes for 81 yards and a touchdown.  Dekel Crowdus added two receptions for 44 yards and a touchdown.  Haiden Hunt returned two kickoffs for 86 yards including a long return of 49 yards.  Dekel Crowdus returned one kickoff 78 yards for a touchdown.  Gabe Hillyard led the defense with four solo and five assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a two yard loss.  J. Coffman added three solo and three assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling nine yards.  F. Jewett recovered a fumble.

Dre Thruston led Paul Laurence Dunbar’s ground game with 71 yards and a touchdown on two carries.  Tanner Cox completed six of 13 passes for 30 yards.  J. Robinson caught two passes for 23 yards.  Dre Thruston returned four kickoffs for 121 yards with a 93 yard return for a touchdown.  Brayden Moore led the defense with three solo tackles.  Isaac Armstrong added two solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a five yard loss.  Josiah Brown recorded one solo tackles for a nine yard loss and recovered a fumble.

Lafayette took an early 7-0 lead but it was all Henry Clay after that as the Blue Devils scored 30 unanswered points in a 30-7 victory.  Henry Clay recorded 15 first downs and 302 yards of total offense.  The Blue Devils were penalized five times for 35 yards and lost a fumble.  Lafayette recorded 17 first downs and 218 yards of total offense.  The Generals were penalized six times for 56 yards, lost a fumble, and had one pass intercepted.

DJ VanHorn led Henry Clay’s ground game with 56 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.  Langston Jackson carried the ball eight times for 48 yards and a touchdown.  Nate Steiner added 40 yards on five carries.  DJ VanHorn completed four of five passes for 78 yards and a touchdown.  Ramond Jackson caught three passes for 55 yards.  Langston Jackson added one reception for 23 yards and a touchdown.  Kobie Neal returned three punts for 32 yards with a long return of 24 yards.  Ben Bates led the defense with six solo and four assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a seven yard loss.  C. Maynard added four solo and five assisted tackles and scored on a blocked punt return.  William Webb recorded four solo and three assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 22 yards.  Jordan Kimball added four solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a three yard loss and intercepted a pass he returned 20 yards.  Nate Steiner recovered a fumble.

TJ Robinson led Lafayette’s ground game with 72 yards on 17 carries.  TeAndre Newcomb carried the ball 12 times for 35 yards.  Quinton Turner completed five of 12 passes for 51 yards.  TeAndre Newcomb completed six of 11 passes for 100 yards with one touchdown and one interception.  Austin Anderson caught six passes for 78 yards.  TeAndre Newcomb carried the ball twice for 25 yards.  John Combs caught a 15 yard touchdown pass.  Austin Blake led the defense with six solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 11 yards.  Jaylen Lawson added six solo tackles with one of his losses resulting in a four yard loss.  Anthony Burnett recovered a fumble.

Madison Central held Bourbon County to 95 yards total offense in a 43-0 shutout road victory.  Madison Central averaged 8.6 yards per carry on the ground and scored three rushing touchdowns and also threw for three more scores.  Madison Central recorded 10 first downs and 311 yards of total offense.  The Indians were penalized five times for 37 yards.  Bourbon County recorded four first downs and 95 yards of total offense.  The Colonels were penalized four times for 18 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Ethan Hahn led Madison central’s ground game with 117 yards and two touchdowns on four carries.  Joe Burton added 51 yards and a touchdown on eight carries.  Derrick Miller completed five of 11 passes for 77 yards and two touchdowns.  Canon Scenters completed his only pass for 53 yards and a touchdown.  Chase Smith, Ben Snapp, and Jarrett Mullins each caught a touchdown passes of 53, 36, and 25 yards respectively.  Jackson Juett led the defense with three solo and seven assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.  Sawyer Cruse added three solo and five assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards.  Ben Pinson recorded five assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a one yard loss.  Zach Holbrook intercepted a pass.

Camarr Myers led Bourbon County’s ground game with 31 yards on 13 carries.  Jake Broughton completed eight of 17 passes for 49 yards with one interception.  Bryce Roy caught three passes for 17 yards.  Kaygen Heflin added one reception for 16 yards.  Camarr Myers returned two kickoffs for 44 yards with a long return of 22 yards.  Kaygen Heflin returned three kickoffs for 72 yards with a long return of 32 yards.  Bradlie Waters led the defense with one solo and five assisted tackles.  Zach Lightner added six assisted tackles.  Shemarr Myers recorded one solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a four yard loss.

Scott County scored the last 29 points of the game to record a 57-18 victory over Bryan Station.  Scott County recorded 20 first downs and 472 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized eight times for 61 yards.  Bryan Station recorded 19 first downs and 365 yards of total offense.  The Defenders were penalized four times for 34 yards and lost a fumble.

Bronson Brown led Scott County’s ground attack with 141 yards and three touchdowns on nine carries.  Austin Barnett carried the ball 13 times for 90 yards and a touchdown.  Payton Brown added 88 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries.  Cade McKee completed four of six passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns.  Glenn Covington caught three passes for 81 yards and a touchdown.  Cade Mullins added a 49 yard touchdown reception.  Glenn Covington returned two punts for 65 yards including a long return of 58 yards.  Campton Martin returned three kickoffs for 116 yards including a long return of 60 yards.  Rylan Reed led the defense with eight solo and one assisted tackles.  Wynston Reibel added five solo and one assisted tackles.  Berk Watts also recorded five solo and one assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.

Jalen Burbage led Bryan Station’s ground game with 89 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries.  Jalen Burbage completed 18 of 34 passes for 243 yards and two touchdowns.  Kendrick Curry caught six passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns.  A. Chestnut also caught six passes for 98 yards.  Kyran Campbell led the defense with 11 solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a two yard loss.  Bryson Fields added three solo and seven assisted tackles.  Brandon Vera recorded three solo and four assisted tackles.

DeSales defeated Lexington Catholic by a score of 38-24.  DeSales raced out to a 24-7 lead late in the first half but Lexington Catholic fought back to pull within seven; 31-24 behind the prolific aerial combination of Beau Allen to Nathan Schnurr.  Aaron Pfaadt tacked on an insurance touchdown for DeSales on a 20 yard bootleg to the left with 57 seconds left in the game.  The two teams definitely approached the game with different philosophies on offense as Lexington Catholic gained 393 yards through the air and DeSales rolled up 262 yards on the ground.  However DeSales QB Aaron Pfaadt complemented the ground game well as he threw for 148 yards and two touchdowns.  DeSales recorded 22 first downs and 410 yards of total offense.  The Colts were penalized six times for 59 yards.  Lexington Catholic recorded 19 first downs and 429 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized 13 times for 100 yards and had two passes intercepted.

Antione Johnson led DeSales ground game with 150 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries.  Aaron Pfaadt added 55 yards and a touchdown on six carries.  Darren Hollenkamp carried the ball eight times for 48 yards and a touchdown.  Aaron Pfaadt completed eight of 11 passes for 148 yards and two touchdowns.  6-3 260 pound TE/DE Demetri Scott caught four passes for 85 yards and two touchdowns.  Darren Hollenkamp added two receptions for 37 yards.  Zane Wilkerson led the defense with six solo tackles.  Demetri Scott added four solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 10 yards.  Darren Hollenkamp recorded four solo and two assisted tackles.  Amos Griffith added four solo and one assisted tackles and intercepted two passes he returned for a total of 32 yards. 

Beau Allen led Lexington Catholic’s ground game with 31 yards on 10 carries.  Beau Allen completed 33 of 47 passes for 393 yards and three touchdowns with two interceptions.  Nathan Schnurr caught 15 passes for 199 yards and two touchdowns.  Luke Powell added seven receptions for 69 yards.  Tommy Knopp caught five passes for 79 yards and a touchdown.  Henry Holthaus led the defense with nine solo and four assisted tackles.  Brennan Emnett added eight solo and three assisted tackles.  Clay Callahan recorded seven solo and two assisted tackles.

Bowling Green scored on a 7 yard pass from Jarret Doege to Quintin Morris and a two point conversion pass from Jarret Doege to Wayne-Prather with 6:47 left in the game to earn a 42-35 come-from-behind victory over Eastern Kentucky.  EKU had one last opportunity and advanced to the Bowling Green 15 in the closing seconds but two passes into the end zone fell incomplete to ensure the Bowling Green victory.  Bowling Green recorded 26 first downs and 388 yards of total offense.  They were penalized eight times for 69 yards and had one pass intercepted.  Eastern Kentucky recorded 23 first downs and 498 yards of total offense.  The Colonels were penalized seven times for 88 yards and lost three fumbles.

Andrew Clair led Bowling Green’s ground game with 90 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries.  Rico Frye carried the ball seven times for 37 yards.  Jarret Doege completed 28 of 39 passes for 258 yards and four touchdowns with one interception.  Quintin Morris caught eight passes for 93 yards and two touchdowns.  D. DeSales defense scored two touchdowns and recorded a safety in a 40-14 victory over Fern Creek.  DeSales improves their record to 4-0 and will play Lexington Catholic next week at home.  DeSales recorded 13 first downs and 294 yards of total offense.  The Colts were penalized nine times for 77 yards.  Fern Creek recorded eight first downs and 261 yards of total offense.  The Tigers were penalized 11 times for 81 yards, lost three fumbles, and had one pass intercepted.

Hollenkamp carried the ball five times for 34 yards.  James Johnson added 31 yards and a touchdown on six carries.  Aaron Pfaadt completed five of 15 passes for 96 yards and one touchdown.  Savion Stivers caught two passes for 55 yards.  Dar. Hollenkamp added two receptions for 25 yards and a touchdown.  Der. Terrance Mitchell led Fern Creek’s ground game with 159 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.  Isaiah Hester completed four of 13 passes for 119 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  William Neal caught three passes for 113 yards and a touchdown.  Terrance Mitchell returned five kickoffs for 63 yards with a long return of 26 yards.  Osman Sall led the defense with four solo and one assisted tackles.  Robert Holt and Brandon Green each recorded four solo tackles.
