Newport coach Davey Johnson started the following lineup: 5-10 Fr. Mya Meredith, 5-8 Sr. Kelis McGuire, 6-0 Sr. Kaitlyn Davis, 5-2 Sr. Ramey Garland, and 5-4 Sr. Morgan McDay.  Lexington Christian Academy coach Michael Menifee countered with 5-8 Jr. Bethany Selby, 5-8 Jr. Grace Combs, 6-0 Fr. Emilie Teall, 5-6 So. Jaylin McClanahan, and 5-6 So. MacKenzie Buckler.

Newport trailed 41-40 after three quarters but rallied to defeat Lexington Christian Academy 69-60 to earn the championship.  There were seven lead changes and three ties in this game.  Newport led 34-21 early in the third quarter but LCA battled back to take the lead at the end of the third quarter before Newport’s decisive final quarter rally.  Newport shot 42% from the field including five of 12 from the three point line.  The Ladycats connected on 22 of 31 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 20 LCA turnovers.  LCA shot 30.4% from the field including three of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on 29 of 37 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 19 Newport turnovers. 

Mya Meredith led Newport with 24 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, and four steals.  Ramey Garland added 18 points including four three point baskets.  Morgan McDay recorded 14 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and three steals. 

Bethany Selby led LCA with 26 points including two three point baskets, 18 of 21 free throws, eight rebounds, and five steals.  Grace Combs added 21 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and six steals.

Wayne County led Madison Central 41-29 in the third quarter on their way to a 54-46 victory over the Indians.  Wayne County shot 40.7% from the field including four of 15 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on six of 12 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 11 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 26.9% from the field including six of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on 12 of 18 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 10 points off eight Wayne County turnovers.

Alyssa Conn led Wayne County with 23 points and five rebounds.  Macey Blevins added 12 points including two three point baskets, 12 rebounds, eight assists, and two steals.  Haleigh Criswell recorded 10 points including two three point baskets and six rebounds.  Mallory Campbell pulled down eight rebounds.

Bailey Vanover led Madison Central with 14 points including two three point baskets, eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Je’Kauri McKeithen added 11 points and 17 rebounds.  5-6 Fr. Lacie Parks added 10 points including two three point baskets.

Je’Kauri McKeithen, 5-5 Sr. Bailey Vanover, and 5-6 Jr. Madison Barnard.  Garrard County coach Scott Latham countered with 5-7 Sr. Olivia Saylor, 5-6 So. Madisyn Neeley, 5-9 So. Katy Pozzuto, 5-4 So. Fran Montgomery, and 5-6 So. Brittany Butner.

Madison Central rallied in the final quarter to eke out a 52-51 come-from-behind victory over Garrard County today.  There were nine lead changes and six ties in this game.  Garrard County stayed in the game on the long range bombing of Madisyn Neeley (six of eight from beyond the arc) and some excellent work on the boards by Olivia Saylor and Katy Pozzuto.  However turnovers (29) proved to be their downfall.  This may prove to be a costly victory for the Indians as Taleya Todd left the game with a shoulder injury and was limited to 13:46 minutes of playing time today.

Madison Central shot 36% from the field including four of 17 from the three point line.  The Indians connected on 12 of 20 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 29 Garrard County turnovers.  Garrard County shot 41.9% from the field including 10 of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Golden Lions connected on five of nine free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 17 Madison Central turnovers.

Bailey Vanover led Madison Central with 18 points, five rebounds, four assists, and six steals.  Madison Barnard added eight points.  Je’Kauri McKeithen recorded seven points, nine rebounds, and three steals.  Blaze Pacheco also scored seven points.

Madisyn Neeley led Garrard County with 20 points including six three point baskets.  5-7 Sr. Ashlynn Clark added 13 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  Katy Pozzuto and Olivia Saylor pulled down nine and eight rebounds respectively.  Fran Montgomery recorded six points and five assists.

Abby Moffett.  (Woodford County is without two key guards who suffered concussions in a recent tournament in Tennessee).  Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey countered with 5-7 Sr. Blaze Pacheco, 5-7 So. Taleya Todd, 5-10 So. Je’Kauri McKeithen, 5-5 Sr. Bailey Vanover, and 5-6 Jr. Madison Barnard.

Madison Central was able to record 17 steals and scored 27 points off 30 Woodford County turnovers but had absolutely no answer for Woodford County’s potent low-high post offense in a 66-53 loss to the Yellow Jackets.  Delaney Enlow and Kayla Harlow combined for 41 points, 25 rebounds, and six blocked shots to dominate in the paint.  There were six lead changes and four ties in this game.  Woodford County pulled away in the final quarter for the victory.

Woodford County shot 62.8% from the field including on of three from the three point line.  The Yellow Jackets connected on 11 of 15 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored eight points off 11 Madison Central turnovers.  Madison Central shot 28.1% from the field including seven of 25 from beyond the arc.  The Indians connected on 10 of 11 free throws, pulled down 23 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 30 Woodford County turnovers.

Delaney Enlow led Woodford County with 21 points, 17 rebounds, six assists, and six blocked shots.  Enlow was eight of nine from the field and five of seven from the free throw line.  Kayla Harlow added 20 points and eight rebounds.  Anna Manges recorded nine points and seven assists and Nia Jaco pulled down seven rebounds.

Blaze Pacheco led Madison Central with 14 points including four three point baskets and three steals.  Taleya Todd added 13 points including two three point baskets and three steals.  Je’Kauri McKeithen recorded eight points, 11 rebounds, and three assists.  Bailey Vanover added eight points, five rebounds, four assists, and six steals.

Murray led 30-19 in the second quarter but rallied behind the clutch play of Emilia Sexton (11 points) and Ciaja Harbison (7 points) in the final quarter to earn a 63-58 victory and the championship over the Lady Tigers.  The score was tied five times and there were four lead changes in the game.  Male shot 42.6% from the field including four of 11 from the three point line.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on 19 0f 25 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 16 Murray turnovers.  Murray shot 45.5% from the field including six of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Tigers connected on 12 of 19 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 14 points off nine Male turnovers.

Ciaja Harbison led Male with 14 points, five rebounds, and four steals.  5-6 Sr. Emilia Sexton added 13 points including two three point baskets.  Cameron Browning recorded 10 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and two blocked shots.  Alana Striverson chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets.  Joelle Johnson added seven points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots.
