Louisville Trinity vs. Indianapolis Warren Central

Warren Central High School
Indianapolis, IN
August 25, 2017

© 2017 by Ron Harrison

Trinity defeated Warren Central by a score of 42-41 but it did not come easy.  Trinity scored 35 points in the second half but had to stop a two point conversion to secure the victory.  Last week the Shamrocks opened the season with a victory over #1 ranked Indiana 6A Carmel and this week they finished the exacta with the Indiana #2 ranked 6A team Warren Central.  Warren Central’s playmakers put up some dazzling numbers but Trinity’s Luke McGuire ran for five touchdowns and Warren Central was flagged for penalties that hurt their chances.

Luke McGuire led Trinity’s ground game with 125 yards and five touchdowns on 23 carries.  Nick Bohn completed 17 of 23 passes for 312 yards and one touchdown.  Rondale Moore caught eight passes for 127 yards.  Ryan Miller caught a 78 yard touchdown pass.

Romier Elliott led Warren Central’s ground attack with 179 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries.  Dean Tate completed 16 of 25 passes for 366 yards and three touchdowns.  Dajour Griffie caught eight passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns.  David Bell added four receptions for 101 yards and a touchdown.
