Sacred Heart Academy coach Donna Moir started the following lineup: 5-11 Fr. Grace Berger, 5-7 Jr. Kia Sivils, 5-9 Jr. Natalie Fichter, 5-5 So. Ashlee Harris, and 5-5 Jr. Kiki Samsel.  Manual coach Jeff Sparks countered with 5-11 Fr. Nila Blackford, 5-10 Sr. Tonysha Curry, 5-11 Jr. Aniah Griffin, 5-2 Jr. Tyonne Howard, and 5-5 Jr. Jaela Johnson.

 

Manual led 23-15 after the first quarter but Sacred Heart rallied to eke out a 67-62 victory.  There were seven lead changes and four ties in the game.  Sacred Heart Academy shot 44.7% from the field including 10 of 16 from the three point line.  The Valkyries connected on 15 of 20 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 12 points off eight Manual turnovers.  Manual shot 39.3% from the field including five of 22 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Crimsons connected on nine of 17 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 11 Sacred Heart turnovers.

 

Kiki Samsel led Sacred Heart with 21 points including five three point baskets, 5-6 Fr. Erin Toller added 18 points including four three point baskets and four rebounds.  Grace Berger recorded 14 points and 13 rebounds.  6-0 Fr. Kristen Clemons chipped in with nine points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots. 

 

Nila Blackford led Manual with 22 points , 10 rebounds, and two steals.  Aniah Griffin added 20 points and four rebounds.  Jaela Johnson chipped in with 11 points and six assists.  Tonysha Curry recorded seven points and eight rebounds.

Lexington Christian Academy led 36-19 in the second quarter but Corbin rallied to take a 46-44 lead after three quarters.  However, LCA outscored the Redhounds 17-6 in the final quarter to earn a 61-52 victory.  LCA shot 44.4% from the field including eight of 23 from the three point line.  The Eagles connected on 13 of 18 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 12 Corbin turnovers.  Corbin shot 42% from the field including six of 24 from beyond the arc.  The Redhounds connected on four of six free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 12 LCA turnovers.

 

Kyle Rode led LCA with 14 points, six rebounds, and five assists.  Chandler Stewart added 13 points and seven rebounds.  Carter Hendricksen recorded 11 points and six rebounds.  Nathan Harper chipped in with nine points, five rebounds, and four steals.  Austin Hall added eight points and four rebounds.

 

Andrew Taylor led Corbin with 27 points including three three point baskets, nine rebounds, and three assists.  Zach Maguet added six points on two three point baskets and Chase Sanders pulled down six rebounds.

Scott County raced out to a 55-31 halftime lead on their way to a 100-72 victory over Henry Clay.  Scott County shot 54.1% from the field including 10 of 20 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 10 of 15 free throws, pulled down 52 rebounds, and scored 31 points off 20 Henry Clay turnovers.  Henry Clay shot 42.1% from the field including 10 of 28 from beyond the arc.  The Blue Devils connected on 14 of 22 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 18 Scott County turnovers.

 

Michael Moreno led Scott County with 17 points, eight rebounds, and three steals.  Cooper Robb added 15 points, six rebounds, and five steals.  Bryce Long recorded 14 points.  5-8 So. Cam Fluker chipped in with 13 points including three three point baskets.  6-1 Jr. Josh Davis also reached double figures with 10 points.  Cooper Watts added seven points, 12 rebounds, and two blocked shots.

 

Keaston Brown led Henry Clay with 20 points including three three point baskets and three steals.  Justin Mitchell added 17 points and five rebounds.  Quentyn Jackson chipped in with nine points.

The score was tied four times and there were three lead changes in the game.  Dunbar shot 48.1% from the field including eight of 16 from the three point line.  The Bulldogs connected on 19 of 28 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 12 LCA turnovers.  LCA shot 50% from the field including three of 10 from beyond the arc.  The Eagles connected on 22 of 26 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored six points off seven Dunbar turnovers.

 

Taveion Hollingsworth led Dunbar with 40 points including five three point baskets and nine of 13 free throws, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Javea Richardson added 12 points.  6-4 Sr. Isaiah Yeast chipped in with eight points.

Eastern Kentucky captured an exciting 88-85 overtime victory over Eastern Illinois in a game that was tied 14 times and had 14 lead changes.  The game feature two noteworthy individual performances; Jalen O’Bannon (Eastern Kentucky) scored a personal high 34 points and set a school record of free throws made in a single game with 22.  On the other side of the ledger Grace Lennox (Eastern Illinois) scored 35 points scoring from everywhere on the floor.

 

Eastern Kentucky University shot 46.3% from the field including six of 16 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 30 of 35 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 14 Eastern Illinois turnovers.  Eastern Illinois University shot 45.8% from the field including six of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Panthers connected on 13 of 17 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 10 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

 

Jalen O’Bannon led Eastern Kentucky with 34 points including 22 of 24 free throws, nine rebounds, and five assists.  5-11 So. Abby Wright added 13 points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.  Madison Wood recorded 10 points and five rebounds.  5-5 Sr. Mariah Massengill chipped in with eight points, six rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

 

Grace Lennox led Eastern Illinois with 35 points including three three point baskets, five rebounds, eight assists, and five steals.  Erica Brown added 18 points, 12 rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Allison Van Dyke recorded 11 points including two three point baskets and nine rebounds.  Jennifer Nehls chipped in with 11 points and five rebounds.

Casey Teson also reached double digits with 10 points including two three point baskets.  Muusa Dama added six points and 12 rebounds.

 

Asante Gist led Eastern Kentucky with 20 points including four three point baskets.  Nick Mayo added 17 points including seven of eight free throws, four rebounds, and five assists.  Deandre Dishman recorded six points and nine rebounds.

Scott County led Oldham County 26-24 at halftime and pulled away in the second half to earn a 62-45 victory.  The score was tied three times and there were eight lead changes in the game.  Scott County shot 48% from the field including three of 11 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 11 of 14 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 21 Oldham County turnovers.  Oldham County shot 28.1% from the field including five of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 24 Scott County turnovers.

 

Michael Moreno led Scott County with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Cooper Robb added 11 points, eight rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Glenn Covington also scored 11 points and four assists.  Bryce Long chipped in with 10 points and four assists.

 

Sr. Caleb Strunk led Oldham County with 10 points and four rebounds.  Ismail Jones and Jackson Gibson added nine and eight points respectively.
