Jalyn Gilbert.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts countered with 6-0 Fr. Eastern Kentucky University dominated play today in an 88-30 victory over Ohio Valley University.  Eastern Kentucky shot 53.3% from the field including nine of 16 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 15 of 21 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 39 points off 30 Ohio Valley turnovers.  Ohio Valley shot 15% from the field including zero of nine from beyond the arc.  The Fighting Scots connected on 18 of 26 free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored six points off 18 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

 

Alexus Cooper led Eastern Kentucky with 22 points including four three point baskets.  6-0 Sr. Amadi Brooks added 11 points.  Jalen O’Bannon recorded 10 points six rebounds, and three steals.  Shavontae Naylor and 5-9 Sr. Katie Pippen also scored 10 points each and 6-3 Jr. Madison Wood pulled down seven rebounds and blocked two shots.

 

Cydney Franklin led Ohio Valley with eight points.  Rachel Browne and 5-6 So. Yazmin Lopez each scored four points.

Ball State defeated Eastern Kentucky University 91-86 in overtime.  The score was tied 19 times and there were 18 ties in the game.  Ball State shot 45.3% from the field including 10 of 28 from the three point line.  They connected on 23 of 32 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 15 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 45.8% from the field including 11 of 33 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on nine of 14 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 15 Ball State turnovers.

 

Sean Sellers led Ball State with 32 points including seven three point baskets.  Tayler Persons added 21 points, five rebounds, nine assists and five steals.  Trey Moses recorded 18 points and 14 rebounds.  Franko House chipped in with nine points and 12 rebounds.

 

Asante Gist led Eastern Kentucky with 19 points including five three point baskets, four rebounds, and four assists.  Nick Mayo added 17 points and six rebounds.  5-11 Jr. Dillon Avare recorded 15 points on five three point baskets.  6-5 Fr. Pulaski County defeated Henry Clay by a score of 85-81.  Pulaski County led 53-39 in the third quarter but Henry Clay rallied to make it close.  There were seven lead changes and two ties in the game.  Pulaski County shot a sizzling 60.4% from the field including 10 of 18 from the three point line.  The Maroons connected on 11 of 19 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored four points off six Henry Clay turnovers.  Henry Clay shot 40.5% from the field including seven of 23 from beyond the arc.  Henry Clay attempted 21 more shots (74-53) from the field than Pulaski County.  The Blue Devils connected on 14 of 21 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 24 points off 17 Pulaski County turnovers.

 

Steven Fitzgerald led Pulaski County with 26 points and 11 rebounds.  Treyvon Sylvester added 18 points and eight rebounds.  Landon Powell recorded 14 points including four three point baskets.  6-0 Jr. Hagan Elmore chipped in with 12 points and six rebounds.  Danny Butt recorded eight points, seven rebounds, and four assists.

 

Keaston Brown led Henry Clay with 18 points.  Justin Mitchell added 15 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and two steals.  6-3 So. Sacred Heart Academy defeated Simon Kenton by a score of 84-76 in overtime.  Simon Kenton’s Shelby Harmeyer hit a three point basket at the buzzer to send the game to overtime.  The score was tied 11 times and there were 12 lead changes in the game.  Sacred Heart shot 57.7% from the field including six of 15 from the three point line.  The Valkyries connected on 18 of 26 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 27 points off 25 Simon Kenton turnovers.  Simon Kenton shot 44.8% from the field including seven of 23 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Pioneers connected on 17 of 20 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 22 Sacred Heart turnovers.

 

5-5 Fr.
