Western Kentucky University coach Rick Stansbury started the following lineup: 6-7 Jr. Justin Johnson, 6-6 Sr. Que Johnson, 7-1 Sr. Ben Lawson, 6-4 Sr. Pancake Thomas, and 6-5 Sr. Junior Lomomba.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale countered with 6-7 Jr. Zach Charles, 6-4 Sr. Jaylen Babb-Harrison, 6-9 So. Nick Mayo, 6-2 Fr. Parker Chitty, and 6-2 Sr. Isaac McGlone.

 

Eastern Kentucky connected on 13 three point baskets on their way to a 78-59 victory over Western Kentucky tonight.  This ended a 13 game losing streak against the Hilltoppers dating back to 1987.  Eastern Kentucky shot 50.9% from the field including 13 of 29 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 13 Western Kentucky turnovers.  Western Kentucky shot 38.1% from the field including five of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Hilltoppers connected on 22 of 29 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 14 points off nine Eastern Kentucky turnovers.

 

5-11 Fr. Asante Gist led Eastern Kentucky with 19 points including three three point baskets and four rebounds.  Nick Mayo added 14 points, three rebounds, five assists, and two blocked shots.  Isaac McGlone also scored 14 points including four three point baskets.  Jaylen Babb-Harrison recorded 13 points including three three point baskets, seven rebounds, and three steals.

 

Justin Johnson led Western Kentucky with 18 points and eight rebounds.  Junior Lomomba added 15 points including nine of 12 free throws.  Que Johnson recorded 13 points including two three point baskets, four rebounds, and three assists.

Western Kentucky University led 41-29 at halftime and pulled away in the final half to defeat Eastern Kentucky University 90-63.  The score was tied six times with three lead changes in the first half.  Western Kentucky shot 54% from the field including six of 14 from the three point line.  The Hilltoppers connected on 16 of 21 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 17 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 34.8% from the field including four of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 13 of 18 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 18 Western Kentucky turnovers.

 

Kendall Noble led Western Kentucky with 18 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and two steals.  Ivy Brown added 14 points and four rebounds.  Tashia Brown recorded 12 points and five rebounds.  5-11 So. Jaycee Coe added 11 points including three three point baskets.

Lafayette rallied from a 49-32 deficit in the third quarter to earn a 70-69 overtime victory over Lincoln County.  The score was tied three times and there were four lead changes in the game.  Lafayette shot 41.7% from the field including eight of 31 from the three point line.  The Generals connected on 12 of 17 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 15 Lincoln County turnovers.  Lincoln County shot 52.3% from the field including 10 of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Patriots connected on 13 of 21 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 11 Lafayette turnovers.

 

Eric Powell led Lafayette with 21 points including four three point baskets.  5-10 Sr. Jajuante Carpenter added 15 points including two three point baskets.  6-1 Jr. Cameron King chipped in with 12 points and six rebounds.  Evan Dreux added 11 points and five assists.  Cameron Greenup recorded seven points and 10 rebounds.

Lexington Catholic raced out to a 26-11 first quarter lead on their way to an 87-58 victory over Wolfe County.  Fifteen Lexington Catholic players saw action tonight with 13 entering the scoring column.  Lexington Catholic shot 46.9% from the field including nine of 23 from the three point line.  The Knights connected on 18 of 30 free throws, pulled down 44 rebounds, and scored 28 points off 21 Wolfe County turnovers.  Wolfe County shot 38% from the field including five of 19 from beyond the arc.  The Wolves connected on 15 of 21 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored nine points off 11 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

 

Luke Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 16 points including two three point baskets, seven assists, and four steals in 14: 22 minutes of playing time.  Blake Scott added 12 points on four three point baskets.  Zan Payne recorded nine points and 12 rebounds and TC Price chipped in with eight points.  Peter Whitman added seven points, four rebounds, and three blocked shots.  6-2 So. John Poulton added nine points, three rebounds, and two steals.

Western Michigan pulled away in the closing minutes in the first half to erase a 28-27 deficit to lead 35-29 at the intermission on their way to a 74-59 victory.  Western Michigan University shot 41% from the field including six of 15 from the three point line.  The Broncos connected on 18 of 22 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 17 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 31.8% from the field including four of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 13 of 19 free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 14 Western Michigan turnovers.

 

Marley Hill led Western Michigan University with 17 points and nine rebounds.  Meredith Shipman added 13 points including three three point baskets.  Breanna Mobley recorded nine points and 10 rebounds.  Deja Wimby added eight points, eight rebounds, and eight assists.  Najee Smith also scored eight points including two three point baskets.

 

6-1 Sr. Jalen O’Bannon led Eastern Kentucky University with 16 points and 13 rebounds.  Shavontae Naylor added 13 points and six rebounds.  Alexus Cooper added seven points and Madison Wood pulled down seven rebounds.  Mariah Massengill recorded seven points, four assists, and four steals.

Christian Sanders led Methodist with 13 points including three three point baskets and four steals.  Kaneya Chambers also scored 13 points, pulled down four rebounds, and dished out three assists.  Jalisia Campbell recorded 11 points and eight rebounds.

Ferrum raced out to a 24-9 first quarter lead on their way to a 73-55 victory over Sewanee.  Ferrum shot 59.3% from the field including six of 12 from the three point line.  The Panthers connected on three of six free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 14 Sewanee turnovers.  Sewanee shot 33.3% from the field including eight of 31 from beyond the arc.  The Tigers connected on five of six free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 14 Ferrum turnovers.

 

Zarkia Mattox led Ferrum with 22 points, 14 rebounds, and four assists.  Erin March added 12 points and four rebounds.  Maggie Self chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets, six rebounds, and six assists.  Brooke Lewis added eight points and  Kelli Mounce recorded seven points and 10 assists.

 

Bella Taylor led Sewanee with 15 points and six assists.  Savannah Rose added 12 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, and five assists.  Corey Caulder recorded 12 points , six rebounds, and three steals.
