Scott County improves to 10-2 for the season and advances in the playoffs with a 46-19 victory over Conner who finishes their season at 9-3.  While the statistics were relatively even Scott County was an impressive four of five with four touchdowns on red zone scoring chances.  Conner did not have an answer for the duo of Brice Fryman (9 carries 132 yards four touchdowns) and Jacob Burton (14 carries 95 yards two touchdowns) who led the powerful Scott County ground game.  Scott County recorded 17 first downs and 328 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized seven times for 57 yards and lost a fumble.  Conner recorded 18 first downs and 340 yards of total offense.  The Cougars were penalized four times for 41 yards and lost a fumble.

Brice Fryman led Scott County’s ground game with 132 yards and four touchdowns on nine carries.  Jacob Burton carried the ball 14 times for 95 yards and two touchdowns.  Josh Davis completed two of three passes for 28 yards and a touchdown.  Landon Easley caught one pass for 21 yards and a touchdown.  Brice Fryman returned one kickoff for 54 yards.  Cooper Watts led the defense with seven solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a seven yard loss.  Berk Watts added five solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in an eight yard loss.  Sam Sutton and Zane Wilson also each recorded five solo and one assisted tackles.  Colby McKee added three solo and one assisted tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 20 yards.

Armand Jackson led Conner’s ground game with 118 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries.  Walker Buelow completed 13 of 22 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns.  Cody Buckler caught five passes for 57 yards.  Brian Manning added two receptions for 108 yards and two touchdowns.  Austin Cain led the defense with seven solo tackles.  Cody Buckler added six solo tackles.  Bryce Wade and Troy Greenlee each recorded five solo tackles.

Georgetown College coach Chris Briggs started the following lineup: 6-5 Jr. Quan Poindexter, 6-5 Sr. Raymond Baldwin, 6-7 So. Chris Coffey, 5-11 Jr. Darion Burns, and 5-11 Jr. Trent Gilbert.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale countered with 6-7 Jr. Zach Charles, 6-4 Sr. Jaylen Babb-Harrison, 6-9 So. Nick Mayo, 5-11 Fr. Asante Gist, and 6-0 Sr. Isaac McGlone.

 

Eastern Kentucky finally pulled away in the closing minutes to beat a good Georgetown College team by a score of 83-71.  Eastern Kentucky’s guard tandem of Asante Gist and Isaac McGlone combined for 40 points to pace the Colonels. Eastern Kentucky shot 52% from the field including 10 of 20 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 21 of 25 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and committed 14 turnovers.  Georgetown College shot 49.1% from the field including six of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Tigers connected on 11 of 19 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and committed 14 turnovers.

 

Asante Gist led Eastern Kentucky with 22 points including two three point baskets, eight of eight from the free throw line, and five assists.  Isaac McGlone added 18 points including four three point baskets and five assists.  Nick Mayo recorded 13 points and six rebounds.  Mayo was five of five from the field and three of four from the free throw line.  Zach Charles also reached double figures with 10 points, seven rebounds, and three blocked shots.  Jaylen Babb-Harrison chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals.

 

6-4 So. Troy Steward led Georgetown College with 18 points including two three point baskets and four assists.  Chris Coffey added 17 points, five rebounds, and two steals.  Quan Poindexter recorded 14 points including two three point baskets.  Raymond Baldwin added nine points and five rebounds.  Darion Burns dished out six assists.

Young Harris College coach Matt Stearsman started the following lineup: 5-11 Sr. Meredith Tarver, 5-11 Jr. Jada Williams, 6-3 Sr. Jenny Vernet, 5-4 So. Sara Jorgensen, and 5-6 Sr. Bria Ratliff.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Chrissy Roberts countered with 5-11 So Abby Wright, 5-11 Sr. Shavontae Naylor, 6-1 Sr. Jalen O’Bannon, 5-5 Sr. Mariah Massengill, and 5-8 Sr. Alexus Cooper.

 

Eastern Kentucky University led by 21 early in the third quarter but had to survive a furious rally by Young Harris College to earn a 65-61 victory.  Eastern Kentucky still led 55-41 beginning the final quarter but dismal shooting from the field (2-14) 14.3% from the field in the final quarter allowed Young Life College to get back in the game. 

 

Eastern Kentucky University shot 34.9% from the field including four of 15 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 17 of 25 free throws, pulled down 47 rebounds, and committed 23 turnovers.  Young Life College shot 35.6% from the field including five of 11 from beyond the arc.  They connected on 14 of 22 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and committed 22 turnovers.

 

Jalen O’Bannon led Eastern Kentucky with 21 points, four rebounds, one blocked shot, and three steals.  Alexus Cooper added 16 points including three three point baskets and four assists.  5-3 Jr. Marcella Rocha added nine points on four of five shooting from the field including one for one from beyond the arc.  Shavontae Naylor recorded seven points, seven rebounds, and four assists.

 

Bria Ratliff led Young Life College with 24 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, and two steals.  Jenny Vernet added nine points, 13 rebounds, and two blocked shots.  5-10 Fr. Dyiesha Brown recorded nine points and four rebounds.5-8 Jr. Briana Bell chipped in with eight points including two three point baskets.

TK Stone rallied from a 16-8 deficit after three quarters to defeat Lexington Catholic by a score of 28-16.  TK Stone recorded 16 first downs and 297 yards of total offense.  They were penalized five times for 29 yards and had a pass intercepted.  Lexington Catholic recorded eight first downs and 154 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized seven times for 55 yards and had four passes intercepted.

Camden Williams led TK Stone’s ground game with 12 yards on four carries.  Clay Games completed 19 of 34 passes for 279 yards and four touchdowns with one interception.  Camden Williams caught nine passes for 106 yards and two touchdowns.  Jaquias Franklin added seven receptions for 154 yards and a touchdown.  Khia Sherrard added a 17 yard touchdown reception.  Zachary Kloclow led the defense with one solo and five assisted tackles.  Andrew Helton added one solo and four assisted tackles.  Kam Sherrard intercepted one pass he returned 24 yards.  Jaquias Franklin intercepted a pass and Camden Williams intercepted two passes with 30 yards on the returns.

Luke Haines led Lexington Catholic’s ground attack with 108 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries.  Joshua Brownell completed six of 24 passes for 46 yards and a touchdown with three interceptions.  Jackson Klein caught three passes for 33 yards and a touchdown.  Luke Haines added three receptions for 13 yards.  Colson Perry led the defense with two solo and six assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards.  John Martin Simms added four solo and two assisted tackles.  Jackson Klein recorded three solo and three assisted tackles.  Jackson Corbett added three solo and one assisted tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 21 yards.

Newburg defeated Bowling Green 14-11 in overtime.  Bowling Green missed a 38 yard field goal attempt at the end of regulation with the score tied 8-8 and the game went to overtime.    Bowling Green scored first in overtime on a 30 yard field goal by Eli Burwash to make the score 11-8.  However Terrence Mitchell scored on a seven yard run to give Newburg the 14-11 victory.  Newburg recorded five first downs and 109 yards of total offense.  They were penalized 10 times for 67 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.  Bowling Green recorded 11 first downs and 137 yards of total offense.  They were penalized five times for 41 yards and lost a fumble.

Terrence Mitchell led Newburg’s ground game with 72 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.  Jamarion Smith carried the ball twice for 26 yards and a game.  Malik Williams completed two of 10 passes for 12 yards with one interception.  Terrence Mitchell caught two passes for 12 yards.  Dereon Duncan led the defense with six solo and two assisted tackles.  Tavon Johnson added five solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling nine yards.  Malik Williams recorded four solo and two assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards.  Elijah Blakey added three solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 10 yards.  Evan Embry recorded two solo and two assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling six yards and recovered a fumble.

Darius Franklin led Bowling Green’s ground game with 23 yards and a touchdown on 15 carries.  Eli Burwash completed 11 of 21 passes for 130 yards.  Dez Wilson caught four passes for 76 yards.  Connar Cooper added two receptions for 23 yards.  Tyler Strode caught two passes for 26 yards.  Jordan Dingle led the defense with one solo and five assisted tackles.  Dylan Echols added one solo and four assisted tackles.  Dez Wilson recorded one solo and three assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.

Northern Pulaski scored in a variety of ways, on the ground, through the air, kickoff return, and interception return on their way to a 46-14 victory over South Warren.  North Pulaski recorded seven first downs and 177 yards of total offense.  They were penalized five times for 50 yards and lost a fumble.  South Warren recorded five first downs and 92 yards of total offense.  They were penalized four times for 37 yards and had two passes intercepted.

Trey Price led Northern Pulaski’s ground game with 52 yards and two touchdowns on four carries.  Korbyn Goff carried the ball four times for 17 yards and a touchdown.  Drew Polston completed five of five passes for 83 yards and a touchdown.  Trey Price caught two passes for 37 yards.  Matthew Shadoan caught a 25 yard touchdown pass.  Breden Gibson returned a kickoff 60 yards for a touchdown.  Layton Abbott led the defense with four solo tackles.  Barek Williams added three solo and one assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a loss of four yards and intercepted a pass.  Clayton Harness recorded two solo and two assisted tackles and returned an interception 38 yards for a touchdown.

Luke Burton led South Warren’s ground game with 27 yards on five carries.  Mason Willingham completed one of six passes for 49 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Kobe Martin caught one pass for 49 yards and a touchdown.  Luke Burton returned a kickoff 77 yards for a touchdown.  Luke Burton led the defense with two solo and four assisted tackles.  Tyler Snell added two solo and one assisted tackles.  Jake Jackson recorded one solo and two assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling six yards.

New Harlan averaged 12.6 yards per carry on 27 rushing attempts and scored five touchdowns on the ground on their way to a 37-8 victory over Owensboro Catholic.  New Harlan recorded 10 first downs and 339 yard of total offense.  They were penalized twice for 25 yards and lost a fumble.  Owensboro Catholic recorded six first downs and 157 yards of total offense.  They were penalized once for five yards and had four passes intercepted.

Matthew Brown led New Harlan’s ground game with 184 yards and five touchdowns on 10 carries.  Josh Turner carried the ball four times for 81 yards.  Hunter Blevins recorded 65 yards on five carries.  New Harlan did not attempt a pass.  Gary Jones led the defense with three solo and two assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a four yard loss.  Hunter Helton added three solo and one assisted tackles.  Matthew Brown, Brandon Perez, Gavin Ewald, and Cody Clayborn each intercepted a pass with return yardage of 12, 21, 13, and 0 yards respectively.

Chris Boarman led Owensboro Catholic’s ground game with 40 yards and a touchdown on two carries.  Clayton Lewis completed eight of 21 passes for 103 yards with four receptions.  Aaron Buckman caught three passes for 38 yards.  Harold Hogg and Finley Munsey each caught two passes for 21 yards.  Thomas Clouse caught one pass for 23 yards.  Clayton Lewis and Logan Davis each recorded three solo and one assisted tackles.  Harold Hogg recorded one solo and three assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.

Lexington Catholic defeated Belfry by a score of 24-22.  Lexington Catholic recorded 12 first downs and 253 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized twice for 15 yards.  Belfry recorded 11 first downs and 253 yards of total offense.  The Pirates were penalized seven times for 70 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Luke Haines led Lexington Catholic’s ground game with 113 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.  Colson Perry carried the ball six times for 32 yards and a touchdown.  Joshua Brownell completed 14 of 22 passes for 122 yards and two touchdowns.  Joshua Klein caught five passes for 35 yards and a touchdown.  Jackson Corbett added two receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown.   Michael Pitts led the defense with seven solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards.  Colson Perry added four solo and four assisted tackles.  Jackson Corbett recorded four solo and two assisted tackles and intercepted a pass.

Kyle Webb led Belfry’s ground game with 146 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries.  Deon Smith carried the ball 14 times for 76 yards.  Seth Mounts added 24 yards and a touchdown on six carries.  Seth Mounts was zero for two in the passing stats with one interception.  Seth Mounts led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling seven yards.  Brad Lowe added five solo tackles.  Caleb Spears recorded three solo tackles.

TK Stone outlasted Hopkinsville 38-36 in an offensive shootout that went down to the wire.  TK Stone recorded 18 first downs and 351 yards of total offense.  They were penalized three times for 32 yards.  Hopkinsville recorded 15 first downs and 347 yards of total offense.  They were penalized eight times for 60 yards.

Camran McNeil led TK Stone’s ground game with 42 yards on eight carries.  J. Franklin carried the ball five times for 26 yards.  Camden Williams added 22 yards on five carries.  Clay Games carried the ball twice for 13 yards and a touchdown.  Clay Games completed 15 of 17 passes for 246 yards and five touchdowns.  Camden Williams caught eight passes for 140 yards and three touchdowns.  J. Franklin added three receptions for 65 yards and a touchdown.  Kam Sherrard caught three passes for 38 yards and a touchdown.  Alandre Murphy led the defense with two solo and five assisted tackles.  Zachary Kloclow added two solo and four assisted tackles.  Andrew Helton and Camran McNeil each recorded three solo and one assisted tackles.  J. Franklin added two solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 26 yards.

Zahnte Brown led Hopkinsville’s ground game with 124 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries.  EJ Austin also ran for two touchdowns.  EJ Austin completed seven of 10 passes for 228 yards and a touchdown.  Lane Rushing caught four passes for 122 yards and a touchdown.  Arthur McKnight added two receptions for 79 yards.  Reece Jesse caught one pass for 27 yards.  EJ Austin returned three kickoffs for 42 yards with a long return of 26 yards.  Isaiah Forrest led the defense with five solo and two assisted tackles.  Quay Coleman added four solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards.  CJ Walton and Lane Rushing each recorded two solo and three assisted tackles.

Bowling Green defeated Crosby by a score of 42-12.  Bowling Green recorded 15 first downs and 343 yards of total offense.  They were penalized five times for 40 yards, lost a fumble, and had one pass intercepted.  Crosby recorded five first downs and 230 yards of total offense.  They were penalized 11 times for 90 yards and lost a fumble.

Darius Franklin led Bowling Green’s ground game with 98 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries.  Eli Burwash carried the ball 10 times for 58 yards and a touchdown.  Javeius Bunton added 40 yards on nine carries.  Eli Burwash completed six of 10 passes for 134 yards and two touchdowns with one interception.  Connar Cooper caught four passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns.  Dez Wilson caught one pass for 23 yards.  Seth Rainville led the defense with three solo and four assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 13 yards.  Dylan Echols added three solo and two assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling nine yards.  Javeius Bunton recorded two solo and three assisted tackles.

Wynton Johnson led Crosby’s ground game with 204 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries.  Wynton Johnson completed all three of his passes for 39 yards.  Donovan Ford caught two passes for 42 yards.  Wynton Johnson returned two kickoffs for 52 yards with a long return of 51 yards.  Donovan Ford led the defense with six solo and one assisted tackles.  Armon Tucker added five solo and one assisted tackles.  Henry Reese recorded three solo and three assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling eight yards.  Wynton Johnson added two solo tackles and intercepted a pass he returned 18 yards for a touchdown.
