Mason County coach Buddy Biggs started the following lineup: 6-6 Sr. Darren Williams, 6-0 Sr. Antwavon Williams, 6-6 Sr. Conner Sweeney, 5-9 Fr. Jaylen Lofton, and 5-10 So. Isiah Garrison. Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman countered with 6-5 So. Zan Payne, 6-1 Sr. JJ Ogbogu, 6-6 Jr. Peter Whitman, 6-0 Sr. Donovan Morris, and 6-3 Jr. Luke Johnson.
Lexington Catholic rallied from a 55-44 deficit late in the third quarter to defeat Mason County by a score of 78-74. There were eight lead changes and two ties in the game. Lexington Catholic shot 48% from the field including one of five from the three point line. The Knights connected on 29 of 37 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 19 Mason County turnovers. Mason County shot 46.7% from the field including six of 20 from beyond the arc. The Royals connected on 12 of 25 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 17 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Luke Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 31 points including nine of 10 free throws. Zan Payne added 22 points including 12 of 15 free throws and 19 rebounds. 6-6 Max Sparkman recorded eight points, six rebounds, and four blocked shots.
Conner Sweeney led Mason County with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Antwavon Williams also scored 18 points and dished out four assists. Isiah Garrison recorded 16 points and six rebounds. Darren Williams chipped in with seven points, eight rebounds, and four assists.
