Ballard coach Chris Renner started the following lineup: 6-3 Jr. Jake Ramsey, 6-2 Sr. Anthony Eaves, 6-7 Sr. Corey Douglas, 5-11 Sr. Paul Schiavone, and 6-2 Sr. Jalen Perry.  Newport Central Catholic coach Ron Dawn countered with 6-6 Jr. Ben Weyer, 6-2 Jr. Eric Anderson, 6-7 Sr. Drew McDonald, 5-11 Sr. Zach Pangallo, and 6-3 Sr. Grant Moeves.

The consolation championship in this star-studded field features the two teams that were considered to be the top ranked teams in the field entering the tournament.  This contest did not disappoint as Ballard captured a hard-fought come-from-behind 77-75 victory over Newport Central Catholic.  Newport Central Catholic 60-47 late in the third quarter but Ballard rallied, outscoring the Thoroughbreds 28-15 in the final quarter to earn a 77-75 victory.  The score was tied five times and there were six lead changes in the game.

Ballard shot 47.5% from the field including eight of 17 from the three point line.  The Bruins connected on 11 of 14 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 25 points off 19 Newport Central Catholic turnovers.  Newport Central Catholic shot 58% from the field including six of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Thoroughbreds connected on 11 of 15 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 14 Ballard turnovers.

Jalen Perry led Ballard with 28 points including three three point baskets, six rebounds, and four assists.  Anthony Eaves added 26 points including eight of nine free throws.  Paul Schiavone chipped in with eight points and five rebounds.  Corey Douglas recorded six points and seven rebounds.

Drew McDonald led Newport Central Catholic with 24 points and 10 rebounds.  BenWeyer added 18 points and seven rebounds.  Zach Pangallo chipped in with 15 points and five assists.  6-1 So. Luke Moeves recorded 14 points.

Henderson County defeated Lexington Catholic by a score of 64-56.  Henderson County shot 52.1% from the field including one of nine from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on 13 of 18 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 17 points off 10 Lexington Catholic turnovers.  Lexington Catholic shot 43.8% from the field including three of 14 from beyond the arc.  The Knights connected on 11 of 13 free throws, pulled down 22 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 13 Henderson County turnovers.

David Simmons led Henderson County with 23 points including nine of 12 free throws, five rebounds, and four assists.  Brady Norman added 14 points. DJ Washington recorded 10 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists.

Tanner Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 20 points and three steals.  Michael Talbott added 10 points and four rebounds.  6-4 Jr. Joseph Ogbogu and 5-11 Jr. Donovan Morris chipped in with eight and six points respectively.

Lincoln County raced out to a 26-4 first quarter lead on their way to an 82-51 victory over Harrison County.  Lincoln County shot 53.3% from the field including 12 of 28 from the three point line.  The Patriots connected on six of eight free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 14 Harrison County turnovers.  Harrison County shot 38.8% from the field including six of 24 from beyond the arc.  The Thorobreds connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored seven points off nine Lincoln County turnovers.

Jacob Conway led Lincoln County with 29 points and nine rebounds.  Timmy Taylor added 13 points including three three point baskets and nine assists.  Neil Conley chipped in with 11 points including three three point baskets.  5-8 So. Noah Young recorded 10 points including two three point baskets.

Lafayette claimed the championship with a 59-46 victory over East Carter.  Lafayette shot 51.4% from the field including one of six from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on 20 of 22 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 16 East Carter turnovers.  East Carter shot 46.2% from the field including three of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Raiders connected on seven of eight free throws, pulled down 15 rebounds, and scored 15 points off 14 Lafayette turnovers.

Dee Givens led Lafayette with 20 points including nine of 11 free throws, five rebounds, and four assists.  Kiara Pankins added 18 points including eight of eight free throws, five rebounds, and four assists.  Kendyl Powell chipped in with nine points and four rebounds.

Megan Stickler led East Carter with 12 points and five rebounds.  Haley Hall also scored 12 points and pulled down four rebounds, and recorded four steals.  Kristen Mayo recorded eight points and three assists.

Cooper Watts, 5-10 Sr. Jamel Banks, and 6-1 Sr. Clarion Washington.

Scott County’s Clarion Washington hit a runner and added a free throw with 1.5 seconds left in the game to give Scott County a 71-69 come-from-behind victory over Wayne County.  Scott County led 50-37 in the third quarter but Wayne County rallied and took a 69-68 lead late in the game setting the stage for Washington’s game-winning heroics.  This is the type game you would expect between two of the legendary coaches in Kentucky high school circles.  Scott County held a 23-11 advantage in second chance points and Wayne County misfired on key free throws down the stretch.

Scott County shot 42.3% from the field including six of 15 from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on five of nine free throws, pulled down 41 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 13 Wayne County turnovers.  Wayne County shot 53.1% from the field including 11 of 21 from beyond the arc.  The Cardinals connected on six of 16 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored nine points off eight Scott County turnovers.

Isaiah Johnson led Scott County with 23 points, 12 rebounds, two assists, three blocked shots, and two steals.  Clarion Washington added 19 points, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Hines Jones recorded 13 points, five rebounds, and seven assists.

Trey Blevins led Wayne County with 32 points including nine three point baskets.  Trey Blevins added 26 points, nine rebounds, and five assists.  High scoring guard Peyton Woods was limited to five points tonight as he was one of one from behind the arc and two of three from the free throw line in 32 minutes.

Peyton Riddle led a balanced Scott County attack with 16 points including 12 of 14 free throws and five assists.  Sidney Southerland added 15 points and eight rebounds.  Lauren Boehm recorded 14 points, 12 rebounds, two assists, and two steals.  Juliette Smith chipped in with 13 points including two three point baskets and four rebounds.

Scott County led 28-15 early in the third quarter but had to withstand an Oldham County rally to earn a 60-51 overtime victory.  There were three lead changes and five ties in this game with the score being tied 47-47 at the end of regulation.  Scott County shot 42.2% from the field including zero of eight from the three point line.  The Cardinals connected on 22 of 30 free throws, pulled down 43 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 15 Oldham County turnovers.  Oldham County shot 23.4% from the field including four of 26 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on 17 of 21 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 27 Scott County turnovers.

Hines Jones led Scott County with 26 points including 10 of 12 free throws.  Jamel Banks added 12 points and eight rebounds.  Cooper Watts pulled down 14 rebounds and blocked three shots.
