Lexington Catholic defeated Taylor County 13-8 on a cool, rainy night in which neither team could get their offense untracked.  Lexington Catholic recorded 10 first downs and 232 yards of total offense.  The Knights were penalized 10 times for 103 yards and had one pass intercepted.  Taylor County recorded 12 first downs and 155 yards of total offense.  They were penalized four times for 31 yards, lost four fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.

Jaylen Jones led Lexington Catholic’s ground game with 69 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries.  Reese Ryan completed seven of 13 passes for 172 yards and a touchdown with one interception.  Andy Thompson caught three passes for 91 yards and a touchdown.  Jordan Hatton added two receptions for 43 yards.  Chase Boling led the defense with 13 solo and three assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.  Andy Hickey added four solo and one assisted tackles.

J. Benningfield led Taylor County’s ground game with 85 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries.  B. Williams carried the ball seven times for 38 yards.  Hunter Christie was zero for four with one interception in the passing department.  Jack Miller led the defense with eight solo tackles with three of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards.  B. Williams added five solo and one assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 12 yards.

The word on the street was that maybe Scott County had slipped a bit and was due to taste defeat, maybe even tonight against the speedy Henry Clay Blue Devils.  Scott County didn’t take well to these rumors and raced out to a 38-0 halftime lead on their way to a 38-14 victory over Henry Clay.  Henry Clay lost their QB Rhoman James in the first half due to an injury.  Henry Clay ran into a buzz saw tonight as Scott County played flawless football in the first half.  Scott County recorded 16 first downs and 409 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized six times for 54 yards.  Henry Clay recorded 13 first downs and 274 yards of total offense.  The Blue Devils were penalized twice for 21 yards and had three passes intercepted.

Scott County’s ground game was led by Noah Hughes with 101 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.  Keith Guy carried the ball six times for 89 yards and a touchdown.  Theo Price added 54 yards and a touchdown on nine carries.  Clay McKee completed three of seven passes for 114 yards and two touchdowns.  Clark Griffith caught a 61 yard touchdown pass.  Theo Price caught one pass for 44 yards.  Cooper Watts caught a nine yard touchdown pass.  K. Hamilton led the defense with four solo and three assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a seven yard loss.  Keeshon Brent added three solo and three assisted tackles with 1.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards.  Abijah Cox, Jameer Womack, and Dylan Smith each intercepted a pass.  Womack scored on a 17 yard interception return.

Joquise Buford led Scott County’s ground game with 89 yards on 11 carries.  Austin Bledsoe carried the ball five times for 55 yards and a touchdown.  Marcus Tyler completed five of nine passes for 44 yards with one interception.  Rhoman James completed one of five passes for four yards with two interceptions.  Legend Brumbaugh completed two of four passes for 52 yards and a touchdown.  Colby Barnes caught three passes for 64 yards and a touchdown.  Bry Berezowitz caught three passes for 27 yards.  Davonte Robinson led the defense with four solo and four assisted tackles.  Dennis Newby added four solo and two assisted tackles.

Malik Robinson scored on a 61 yard fumble recovery return and an 87 yard run to lead Lafayette to a 28-7 victory over George Rogers Clark.  Lafayette recorded 12 first downs and 288 yards of total offense.  The Generals were penalized seven times for 57 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.  George Rogers Clark recorded 10 first downs and 140 yards of total offense.  The Cardinals were penalized five times for 34 yards, lost three fumbles, and had two passes intercepted.

Malik Robinson led Lafayette’s ground game with 153 yards and a touchdown on 13 carries.  Mason Alstatt carried the ball four times for 43 yards and a touchdown.  Javarius Robinson carried the ball five times for 33 yards.  Walker Wood carried the ball 11 times for 29 yards and a touchdown.  Walker Wood completed three of eight passes for 15 yards.  Quinten Brown caught two passes for 15 yards. DeVon Quincy led the defense with seven solo and two assisted tackles with 0ne of his tackles resulting in a nine yard loss and recovered a fumble.  Theo James added seven solo tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a nine yard loss.  William Bossert recorded five solo and one assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling nine yards.  Ean Shaw also recorded five solo and one assisted tackles.  Mason Alstatt chipped in with four solo and one assisted tackles, recovered two fumbles, and intercepted one pass.

Josiah Israel led George Rogers Clark’s ground game with 80 yards on 23 carries.  Austin Craft carried the ball three times for 30 yards.  Luke Sharrock completed six of 14 passes for 21 yards and one touchdown with one interception.  Ohmante Jenkins caught two passes for 12 yards and a touchdown.  Luke Cockerham led the defense with seven solo and three assisted tackles.  Ohmante Jenkins added seven solo and one assisted tackles.  Elijah Farris recorded five solo and one assisted tackles and recovered a fumble.

Anderson County held West Jessamine to 66 yards of total offense in a 36-0 shutout victory over the Colts tonight.  Anderson County recorded 16 first downs and 337 yards of total offense.  The Bearcats were penalized seven times for 57 yards and lost two fumbles.  West Jessamine recorded four first downs and 66 yards of total offense.  The Colts were penalized four times for 20 yards and lost a fumble.

Zach Carmichael led Anderson County’s ground game with 95 yards on eight carries.  Ryan Martin carried the ball five times for 52 yards and two touchdowns.  Bryndon Labhart added six carries for 30 yards and a touchdown.  Zach Carmichael completed two of four passes for 81 yards and a touchdown.  Brayden Russell caught one pass for 48 yards.  Ryan Martin added a 33 yard touchdown reception.  Bryndon Labhart led he defense with four solo and two assisted tackles.  Cade Cotton added three solo and one assisted tackles.

Daniel Snider led West Jessamine’s ground arrack with 52 yards on 23 carries.  Marcus Jones completed two of nine passes for 26 yards.  Talon Saunders caught two passes for 26 yards.  Joseph Biahomba les the defense with four solo tackles.  Shannon Kirby added three solo tackles and recovered a fumble.  James Smith and DJ Powell also each recorded three solo tackles.

On a cool rainy night in Kentucky, who do you call?  Unlike the movie it is not Ghostbusters but just keep handing the ball off to 6-2 220 pound Sr. RB Nick Whitman who hammered the Middlesboro defense for 289 yards and five touchdowns on 40 carries in a 36-18 victory.  The offensive line kept opening up the holes and Whitman kept delivering as the Eagles led 14-6 at halftime and pulled away in the second half for the victory.  Lexington Christian Academy recorded 11 first downs and 330 yards of total offense.  The Eagles were penalized six times for 55 yards.  Middlesboro recorded six first downs and 244 yards of total offense.  The Yellowjackets were penalized six times for 40 yards and had two passes intercepted.

Nick Whitman led LCA’s ground game with 289 yards and five touchdowns on 40 carries.  Dima Ballard completed three of four passes for 14 yards.  Daniel White caught one pass for 10 yards.  Daniel White led the defense with four solo and three assisted tackles with 2.5 of his tackles accounting for losses.  Nick Whitman added two solo and four assisted tackles.  Clay Ach intercepted two passes.

Chase Elliot led Middlesboro’s ground game with eight carries for 60 yards and two touchdowns.  Chase Elliot completed seven of 18 passes for 114 yards and a touchdown with two interceptions.  Jake Brock caught two passes for 81 yards and a touchdown.  Ryan Pittman added four receptions for 23 yards.  Tyler Yoakum led the defense with five solo and 10 assisted tackles.  Tyler Reid added three solo and seven assisted tackles.  Ryan Pittman recorded three solo and four assisted tackles.

Dunbar raced out to a 14-0 first quarter lead but Bryan Station rallied to lead 21-14 at halftime on their way to a 28-20 lead over the Bulldogs.  Bryan Station recorded 11 first downs and 297 yards of total offense.  The Defenders were penalized four times for 43 yards and lost a fumble.  Paul Laurence Dunbar recorded 17 first downs and 331 yards of total offense.  The Bulldogs were penalized five times for 23 yards, lost a fumble, and had a pass intercepted.

Andre Davis led Bryan Station’s ground game with 56 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries.  D’Andre Mack carried the ball 12 times for 43 yards and a touchdown.  Andre Davis completed seven of 14 passes for 190 yards and a touchdown.  D’Andre Mack caught two passes for 77 yards.  Tequan Claitt added two receptions for 45 yards.  CJ Walker added two receptions for 36 yards and a touchdown.  Devon Key led the defense with 10 solo and six assisted tackles.  Mahari Sturgis added five solo and four assisted tackles with one of his tackles resulting in a five yard loss and intercepted a pass.  Daquis Sharp recorded six solo tackles.

LaDarius Morton led Paul Laurence Dunbar’s ground game with 137 yards on 16 carries.  Jay Coleman carried the ball nine times for 58 yards and two touchdowns.  Nate Gay added 55 yards on 11 carries.  DeRante Sanders carried the ball 13 times for 39 yards and a touchdown.  Trey Penney completed one of two passes for five yards with one interception.  Jay Coleman caught one pass for five yards.  DeRante Sanders led the defense with seven solo tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards.  Quintin Dixon added four solo and one assisted tackles with one of his losses resulting in a three yard loss.

Madison Central averaged 9.0 yards per carry and scored five touchdowns on the ground to defeat Tates Creek by a score of 41-21.  Madison Central recorded 21 first downs and 479 yards of total offense.  The Indians were penalized nine times for 76 yards, lost two fumbles, and had a pass intercepted.  Tates Creek recorded 20 first downs and 425 yards of total offense.  The Commodores were penalized nine times for 53 yards, lost a fumble, and had three passes intercepted.

Korrion Crier led Madison Central’s ground game with 187 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries.  Johan Williams carried the ball 12 times for 114 yards and two touchdowns.  Jonathan Tye added 71 yards and a touchdown on five carries.  Zach Hardin completed six of 11 passes for 40 yards with one interception.  John Williams caught five passes for 36 yards.  Brandon Northern led the defense with four solo and three assisted tackles with 3.5 of his tackles resulting in losses totaling nine yards.  Jared Grant added two solo and five assisted tackles.  Jeffery Robinson recorded four solo and two assisted tackles.  Johan Williams scored on a 94 yard fumble recovery return.  Adam Adkins, Korrion Crier, and Blake Gross each intercepted one pass with Gross returning his interception for 56 yards.

Langston Love led Tates Creek’s ground game with 150 yards and two touchdowns on five carries.  Graham Gordon carried the ball eight times for 69 yards.  Sakima Opsal recorded 69 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries.  Graham Gordon completed nine of 23 passes for 136 yards with three touchdowns.  Jackson Beerman caught four passes for 30 yards.  Drew Ransdell added two receptions for 48 yards.  Max Sweet caught two passes for 39 yards.  Sakima Opsal led the defense with seven solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling five yards.  Graham Gordon added three solo and five assisted tackles.  Jacob Czarnecki recorded five solo and two assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling 13 yards.

St. Xavier raced out to a 21-0 lead in the second quarter and withstood a Trinity rally to earn a 35-21 victory and break a seven game losing streak to the Shamrocks.  St. Xavier took advantage of three Trinity turnovers and got a boost from RB Blake Roshkowski who had only carried the ball once this season but the speedy Soph gained 98 yards on six carries with a touchdown tonight.  QB Noah Houk also threw for three touchdowns in the big win.  St. Xavier recorded 13 first downs and 328 yards of total offense.  The Tigers were penalized six times for 55 yards and had a pass intercepted.  Trinity recorded 14 first downs and 255 yards of total offense.  The Shamrocks were penalized 12 times for 75 yards and lost three fumbles.

Blake Roshkowski led St. Xavier’s ground game with 98 yards and a touchdown on six carries.  TaiJon Smith carried the ball 23 times for 36 yards and a touchdown.  Noah Houk completed nine of 20 passes for 171 yards and three touchdowns with one interception.  TaiJon Smith caught two passes for 63 yards and a touchdown.  Jaylon Hibbs caught a 47 yard touchdown pass.  Michael Ackerman added three receptions for 33 yards and a touchdown.  Davey Sermersheim led the defense with four solo and three assisted tackles.  Logan Butler added five solo and one assisted tackles.  Kyle Oliver recorded five solo and one assisted tackles.

Donald Brooks led Trinity’s ground game with 75 yards on 17 carries.  Ryan Young carried the ball 10 times for 28 yards.  Ryan Young completed 14 of 25 passes for 149 yards and three touchdowns.  Rodijay Burns caught eight passes for 92 yards and two touchdowns.  Jacob Woosley caught a 28 yard touchdown pass.

Eastern Kentucky University improves their record to 5-0 with a 31-0 victory over Austin Peay who falls to 0-5 for the year.  Eastern Kentucky was coming off an open week and the offense got off to a slow start.  Their first touchdown came after Brandon Stanley returned an interception 13 yards to the Austin Peay 15 yard line.  Channing Fugate scored on an 11 yard run and EKU took a 10-0 lead with 13 seconds left in the first quarter.  Eastern Kentucky scored on the last play of the first half as Bennie Coney launched a Hail Mary pass from 42 yards out that Jeff Glover managed to get over two Austin Peay defenders to snare for a 17-0 halftime lead.  Eastern Kentucky broke open the game early in the third quarter as Deno Montgomery took the opening kickoff and raced 66 yards to the Austin Peay 11 yard line.  Jared McClain then scored on a one yard run to make the score 24-0.  EKU tacked on another score to make the score 31-0 and the defense did the rest.  Austin Peay only threatened once early in the fourth quarter but was stopped by the Colonels’ defense on a fourth-and-goal from the one yard line.

Eastern Kentucky recorded 20 first downs and 354 yards of total offense.  The Colonels were penalized 10 times for 67 yards.  Austin Peay recorded 11 first downs and 190 yards of total offense.  The Governors were penalized nine times for 81 yards and had two passes intercepted.

Dy’Shawn Mobley led Eastern Kentucky’s ground game with 55 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.  JJ Jude carried the ball 10 times for 44 yards.  Jared McClain and Channing Fugate each scored touchdowns on runs of 1 and 11 yards respectively.  Bennie Coney completed 15 of 24 passes for 146 yards and a touchdown.  Jared McClain completed for of four passes for 28 yards.  Devin Borders caught five passes for 48 yards.  Scott Daniel added three receptions for 38 yards.  Jeff Glover added two receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown.  Chris Kelly led the defense with six solo and four assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling six yards.  Trey Thomas added two solo and six assisted tackles.  Kiant Northington recorded four solo and one assisted tackles.  Brandon Stanley and Blake Atzinger each intercepted a pass with return yardage of 13 and 30 yards respectively.

Julia Franklin led Austin Peay’s ground game with 39 yards on nine carries.  Justi Roberson carried the ball 12 times for 37 yards.  Darrien Boone added 30 yards on six carries.  Mickey Macius completed 11 of 22 passes for 53 yards with two interceptions.  Darrien Boone completed three of four passes for 32 yards.  Javier Booker caught five passes for 29 yards.  Julia Franklin added three receptions for 26 yards.  Dami Whitfield led the defense with eight solo and two assisted tackles.  Antonio Turner added six solo and four assisted tackles with two of his tackles resulting in losses totaling three yards.  Jon Shuler recorded three solo and six assisted tackles.

Bryan Station 41  Lafayette 34Andre Davis threw a 17 yard touchdown pass to Marcus Floyd with seven seconds on the clock to give Bryan Station the victory.  Andre Davis completed 17 of 28 passes for 342 yards and five touchdowns and carried the ball 19 times for 74 yards to lead the victor.  Lafayette was led by Walker Wood who carried the ball 29 times for 269 yards and five touchdowns and completed seven of 22 passes for 146 yards.

Henry Clay 57  Madison Central 15 – Henry Clay has several stars on offense tonight: Joquise Buford carried the ball 16 times for 170 yards and a touchdown.  Davonte Robinson carried the ball eight times for 132 yards and a touchdown and scored on a 33 yard interception return.  Elijah Johnson carried the ball twice for 92 yards including an 81 yard scoring run.  Rhoman James carried the ball 10 times for 74 yards and completed six of eight passes for 94 yards and two touchdowns.  Colby Barnes caught five passes for 85 yards and two touchdowns.

Paintsville 24  Lexington Christian Academy 12Kash Daniel carried the ball 13 times for 91 yards and a touchdown and completed 12 of 19 passes for 175 yards and two touchdowns to lead Paintsville.  Nick Whitman had a big night for LCA with 207 yards on 26 carries, caught two passes for 17 yards, and recorded six solo and five assisted tackles on defense.

Bowling Green 41  Logan County 8Campbell Gott completed 10 of 10 passes for 154 yards and four touchdowns.  Jamale Carothers carried the ball eight times for 123 yards and a touchdown and caught three passes for 78 yards and two touchdowns.

Betsy Layne 64  South Floyd 54Peyton Case carried the ball 13 times for 111 yards and three touchdowns and completed 10 of 16 passes for 232 yards and three touchdowns to lead Betsy Layne.
