Russell  County outscored McCreary Central 28-18 in the final quarter to earn a 71-66 home victory over the Lady Raiders.  The difference in the game tonight was on the boards as Russell County dominated pulling down 27 offensive rebounds.  5-6 8th grader Kaitlyn Coffey led the victors with 24 points.  5-5 Jr. Madison Loy added 16 points.

5-8 Sr. Candance Foster led McCreary Central with 23 points and 11 rebounds.  5-7 Fr. Kaylee Cotton also recorded a double double with 17 points and 13 rebounds.  5-6 Sr. Kisha Gibson chipped in with 13 points including three three point baskets.

Boyle County coach Steve Adams started the following lineup: 6-3 Sr. Aram Martin, 6-0 Sr. Brett Jones, 6-7 Jr. Micah Miniard, 6-0 So. Hagan Tyler, and 6-1 Sr. Devin True.  Woodford County coach Scott Hundley countered with 6-5 Sr. Landen Young, 6-3 Sr. Curtis Ham, 6-5 Sr. Chase Henderlight, 5-7 Sr. George Cole, and 5-11 Jr. Chris Honabach.

Boyle County pulled out a hard fought 44-41 victory over Woodford County today.  There were seven lead changes and six ties in the game.  Boyle County shot 37.2% from the field including four of 16 from the three point line.  The Rebels connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 17 points off nine Woodford County turnovers.  Woodford County shot 34% from the field including two of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Yellow Jackets connected on five of seven free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 14 Boyle County turnovers.

Hagan Tyler led Boyle County with 10 points including two three point baskets and pulled down seven rebounds.  Micah Miniard also scored 10 points.  Aram Martin chipped in with nine points and nine rebounds and Brett Jones scored eight points.

Landen Young led Woodford County with 15 points, six rebounds, and three steals.  5-11 Jr. Eli Boggess added nine points and three steals.  Curtis Ham chipped in with seven points.

Franklin County coach John Caudill Jr. started the following lineup:5-10 8th grader Rebecca Cook, 5-8 Sr. Angela Wickman, 5-10 Fr. Malaka Frank, 5-4 Jr. Nannilena White, and 5-6 Sr. Raven Timmons.  Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 6-0 Jr. Sarah Cooley, 5-11 So. Dee Givens, 6-3 So. Ashanti Thomas, 5-6 Jr. Megumi Nagahiro, and 5-7Jr. Ken’yale Demus.

Lafayette led 18-7 after the first quarter but Franklin County rallied to win by a score of 56-48.  The score was tied 48-48 with 2:22 left in the game but Franklin County closed out the game with eight unanswered points.  Franklin county was able to outrebound the taller Lady generals by a 39-31 margin.  Franklin County shot 31.8% from the field including five of 15 from the three point line.  The Lady Flyers connected on 23 of 32 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 18 Lafayette turnovers.  Franklin County held a 19-3 advantage in bench scoring.  Lafayette shot 34.8% from the field including seven of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Generals connected on nine of 21 free throws, pulled down 31 free throws, and scored 16 points off 23 Franklin County turnovers.

Nannilena White led Franklin County with 19 points including 10 of 13 from the free throw line and five assists.  5-8 Fr. Dasia Kilbourne added 12 points including two three point baskets.  Rebecca Cook chipped in with seven points and seven rebounds.  Malaka Frank pulled down nine rebounds.

Dee Givens led Lafayette with 20 points including three three point baskets.  Ken’yale Demus added 17 points including four three point baskets.  Ashanti Thomas and Sarah Cooley each pulled down nine rebounds.

Clay County shot 53.6% from the field and held a 35-20 rebounding edge in an 83-70 victory over Scott County. Clay County had five players in double figures led by 5-11 Sr. Cheyenne Madden with 28 points and 11 rebounds.  5-10 Jr. Sara Robinson added 18 points and 10 rebounds.  5-8 Fr. TaLaura Mathis chipped in with 14 points including four three point baskets.  5-5 So. Ajaycia Cotton recorded 12 points and five assists.  5-11 Sr. Morgan Chestnut also reached double figures with 11 points.

5-8 Sr. Laura Szorenyi led Scott County with 21 points.  5-7 Jr. Danielle DeFoor and 5-6 Jr. Audriana Christopher added 17 and 15 points respectively.

Jeff Quire, 6-3 Sr. Trevon Washington, 5-9 So. Jalen Washington, and 5-9 Sr. Jalen Oliver.

Woodford County led 42-27 in the third quarter but had to survive a Frankfort rally to eke out a 63-60 victory on the road.  Woodford County shot 38% from the field including four of 18 from the three point line.  The Yellow Jackets connected on 21 of 25 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 10 Frankfort turnovers.  Woodford County held a 32-16 advantage in bench scoring.  Frankfort shot 40% from the field including four of 17 from beyond the arc.  The Panthers connected on 12 of 26 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 13 Woodford County turnovers.

Chris Honabach led Woodford County with 15 points including three three point baskets.  Landen Young added 11 points and 11 rebounds.  5-11 Jr. Eli Boggess and 6-0 Sr. Jalin Raglin added 10 points each.

Jalen Oliver led Frankfort with 15 points.  Aaron Jackson added 14 points and nine rebounds.  Jalen Washington chipped in with 11 points including two three point baskets.   5-11 Sr. Teantre McGee recorded 10 points, eight rebounds, and five steals.

Hallie Jones chipped in with 12 points.

5-7 Fr. Kaylee Cotton led McCreary Central with 18 points and seven rebounds.  5-8 Sr. Candance Foster added 18 points and six rebounds.

Bell County led by Maci Morris’ nine first quarter points raced out to a 23-12 first quarter lead on their way to a 75-55 victory over Corbin.  Bell County shot 57.4% from the field including five of 15 from the three point line.  They connected on 16 of 23 free throws and pulled down 42 rebounds.  Corbin shot 37.3% from the field including one of 13 from beyond the arc.  They connected on four of 11 free throws and pulled down 29 rebounds.

6-0 So. Maci Morris led Bell County with 27 points and 13 rebounds.  5-4 So. Jessica Sanders added 17 points and 5-11 Sr. Paige Robbins chipped in with 12 points.

5-6 Jr. Miranda Wilson led Corbin with 20 points and six rebounds.  5-5 Fr. Melanie Wilson added 10 points.

Central Hardin coach James Wright started the following lineup: 5-11 Sr. Cody Elmore, 5-10 Sr. Andy Kerr, 6-2 Sr. Tyler McCullough, 5-10 Sr. Troy Squires, and 6-0 Sr. Alex Crowder.  West Jessamine coach Damon Kelley countered with 6-3 Jr. Tanner Richards, 6-2 Sr. Robby Irgang, 6-2 Fr. Siah Holifield, 5-10 Jr. Landon Adkins, and 6-0 Jr. Will Henderson.

Central Hardin led 53-46 after three quarters but West Jessamine rallied to earn a 76-71 victory.  West Jessamine shot 49% from the field including three of nine from the three point line.  The Colts connected on 25 of 33 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored nine points off eight Central Hardin turnovers.  West Jessamine held a 43-6 advantage in bench scoring.  Central Hardin shot 41% from the field including seven of 28 from beyond the arc.  The Bruins connected on 14 of 22 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 14 West Jessamine turnovers.

6-4 Sr. Chase Fain led West Jessamine with 18 points and 12 rebounds.  6-3 Jr. Daulton Peters added 18 points and 11 rebounds.  Will Henderson chipped in with 11 points and six assists.  Robby Irgang also reached double figures with 10 points.

Alex Crowder led Central Hardin with 28 points, six rebounds, and four steals.  Tyler McCullough added 19 points.

Model coach Ronald Preece started the following lineup: 5-7 8th grader Charity Mack, 5-5 8th grader Abby Vicars, 6-0 8th grader Mallie Cornett, 5-6 8th grader Kasi Schneid, and 5-7 So. Hayley Hunt.  Sayre coach Scotty Sutton countered with 5-6 8th grader Sydney Strup, 5-4 Sr. Cammie Croney-Clark, 6-3 So. Gabby Bowie, 5-7 Jr. Molly Manella, and 5-7 Jr. Hadyn White.

Sayre defeated Model by a score of 49-41.  There were eight lead changes and four ties in the game.  Sayre held a 34-14 advantage on points in the paint.  Sayre shot 35.1% from the field including zero of two from the three point line.  The Lady Spartans connected on nine of 14 free throws, pulled down 49 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 24 Model turnovers.  Model shot 21.4% from the field including two of seven from beyond the arc.  The Lady Patriots connected on 15 of 23 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 26 Sayre turnovers.

Gabby Bowie led Sayre with 16 points, 14 rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Molly Manella added 14 points, nine rebounds, three assists, and five steals.  Cammie Croney-Clark chipped in with six points and eight rebounds.

Mallie Cornett continues her sterling early season play with 22 points including 14 of 18 free throws and 14 rebounds for Model today.  Kasi Schneid added 11 points including two three point baskets.  Hayley Hunt chipped in with eight points, four rebounds, and five steals.
